I like what Billie Jean King, the feminist tennis
professional, had to say: "Be bold. If you're going to make
an error, make a doozey, and don't be afraid to hit the ball."
Does the fear of making an error keep you from doing things
you say are important to you?
Some folks can be almost paralyzed by their unwillingness to
make a mistake. Most people might still be crawling on all
fours if they had given up after the first attempt at
standing! Instead we encourage babies to get up, and get up,
and keeping getting up, until they master standing. Then we
immediately begin encouraging walking. No one considers the
falling down part of this experience a mistake...only part of
the learning process.
In this society, many are raised to seek out the approval of
others as the barometer of success. Certainly childhood is a
time when this can be appropriate, however, simultaneously, it
is important to teach children to approve of themselves. For
adults, learning to approve of themselves is a necessity for
growth AND for contentment, satisfaction and peace of mind.
When you live by your most deeply held values, you increase
your authenticity. This leads to greater self-esteem... and
greater willingness to risk learning through making mistakes.
You can afford it then because you have your own approval.
If you refrain from "hitting the ball" in life, you may miss
some of life's most rewarding experiences. If you are
concerned more with how you will look to others, than how you
feel about yourself, you may be frozen in inactivity.
Why not step up to the plate, keep your eye on the ball and
swing? That's the only way you can possibly hit a home run!

Are You Comfortable With Your Business Opportunity?
Don't Let It Be A Stress Factor.
Yes, you read that correctly! I mentioned the phrase
"business opportunity" in a health article - let me clarify.
This past weekend, I spent 20 hours at a community
health fair. I met a lot of people who were very interested
in "reclaiming" their health and control over it. However,
I was disturbed by the attitude of some of the exhibitors.
I was cornered - not once but twice by people in a
business opportunity similar to mine and was told we
were bad-mouthing their products. As 99.99% of my
business is done via the Internet, I pleaded not guilty.
My point? If you don't feel comfortable with your business,
career or profession, DON'T DO IT! If you have to defend
it and are always checking out your competition, you
will never move forward. That's what our lives are
supposed to do. This can cause major stress for you.
It won't allow you to use your talents or abilities. Life is
too short to worry about other people's opinions. Take
back control and move forward with your natural talents.
Don't force yourself. Move towards positive goals.
Your body wants or craves relaxation. Fill your mind
with ways to help others. Be prepared to rattle off five
benefits that will really support the prospect. You've heard
this before, but understand it from a health perspective.
Reduce your stress and you will attract like-minded people.

stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,

only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.

After much visiting the group began to move
toward the village common where the fire was
underway. The first signs of night were appearing
and within an hour it would be dark.
Eloise's and Mazunta's kids joined them. The
village permitted their children to attend the
fire. It helped bring them into the village ethic.
As the group arrived there was a cheer went up
from those who were already present. It was for
Tim and Sharon. The rest of the group stepped
aside and clapped with the audience. Both Tim and
Sharon were somewhat embarrassed.
Mazunta led the way. When he arrived at the
two chairs at the head of the fire circle, the
ones he and Eloise usually occupied, he went past
them. He then turned and ushered Tim and Sharon
into those chairs. Again a resounding cheer went
up.
Maz and the group sat in a space left for them
beside the chairs.
"What's all this about?" Sharon was
bewildered, not having spent any time in this
village.
"This is a ceremony to celebrate love and
those young who have obviously fallen in love.
They do this for all who fall into that category.
Tonight you and I are the 'cause celebré'."
"I'm not sure I like this. I don't know these
people."
"It's okay Sharon. They know me, respect me
and honor me and my chosen one. Before the night
is over you will know them all. You will find
nowhere in earth a group of loving people like
this one. That's why David and Pam decided to stay
here and raise their kids. You'll see."
The drums were beating a steady rhythm in the
background. It wasn't loud but evident. When it
was fully dark and the only light was that of the
stars and the fire the drums picked up tempo. It
was time to dance.
As this was a happy occasion the audience
nearly all got up to dance this first of the
evening. Even the kids danced with each other, as
kids often do at functions like these.
The party proceeded with dancing eating and
drinking. There were no alcoholic beverages but
everyone had something to drink. As for Tim and
Sharon, they had no choice. Everything on the food
table was brought to them on palm fronds. They ate
and nibbled for a large part of the evening..
They were also kept busy all evening. Even
though there was dancing many of the dancers
stopped and introduced themselves and wished the
young lovers a long and safe journey into life.
By the time that began to cease both Tim and
Sharon were well impressed with the significance
of their state.
At what looked like midnight Mazunta rose,
raising his hands in the air. There was a cheer,
then silence. Even the drums ceased.
"Many years ago in centuries past our
forefathers learned that love meant peace and
prosperity to those who practiced it. They taught
that to the village and the village taught that to
all their children from then on. This village has
prospered for many years because of that principle
and we carry on that teaching with our own
children. It has resulted in this village being
wealthy by all standards, especially those of
peace, love and prosperity. Within the definition
of love we have young people come from among our
ranks who learn the strong emotions of love and
want to live the rest of their lives together. We
honor that for it precedes the beginning of
families and responsibilities we have not had to
that point. It is a time in life to be cherished.
So Tim, Sharon, we honor you this night. It has
become evident to all of us here that you two have
fallen in love. It is a special time in your life
and we want you to take the time to enjoy it, love
it, encourage it. We ask that you take this love
and use it responsibly and to revere one another
for the rest of your lives. You bring honor to
this village that you share your love with us. It
is our joy that you chose to come here at this
time. Permit us in the next few days to live your
love vicariously. It reminds all of us of when we
went through that wonderful time. Now, if you will
please rise."
Tim and Sharon stood up. The drums again began
to roll. From out of nowhere two people showed up
each with a long flowing cape of gleaming white
silk. One was placed on the shoulders of each Tim
and Sharon.

articles I write. I have a friend who owns a recording studio

HA! HA! HA!
Two golfers were out playing one day and one of them
hit his ball into the woods. While he was looking for it, his
playing partner heard a loud scream! He rushed into
the woods to check on his buddy and found him lying on
the ground holding onto his butt.
"What happened", his buddy asked?''
"I got bit on the butt by a rattle snake. I need you to go
back to the clubhouse and get a doctor!"
The friend hurried off on his cart to the clubhouse.
Unfortunately, he found the only doctor there was in the
process of delivery a baby. "Doctor, doctor, my friend was
looking for his golf ball in the woods and he got bit by
a rattle snake! What can I do to save him?"
"You will have to take this scalpel, cut open the skin
at the bite, and suck all the poison out!" The friend
jumped back on the cart, sped back to the woods,
and skidded to a halt where his friend lay.
"Where's the doctor?"
"He's delivering a baby!"
"What did he say?"
"He said you were going to die!!!"
