TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------
About how much does a human brain weigh?
What is Mardi Gras?
--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Does a bigger brain mean a smarter person?
Nope, size isn't everything. There are other animals that
have larger brains than we do, even when you look only
at the size of the brain in comparison to body mass. What's
most important is the complexity of the brain, including the
number of neurons, glial cells, and synapses that are
present. Even when you look at complexity, however,
humans are not on top. Dolphins have a more intricate
brain structure than we do.
What does a brain feel like?
Our brains are very soft, with a consistency sort of like butter.
Good thing we have those nice HARD skulls to protect them.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!
A washroom that was built by Lam Sai-wing is the world's most
expensive washroom. He built the washroom for his shop and
everything in the washroom is made out of gold and jewels.
It cost $3.5 million to build.

OPTIMIZE LIFE NOW!
with Dr. Rhoberta Shaler
---------------------
Risk It!
"Often the difference between the successful man or woman and
a failure is not one's abilities or ideas, but the courage one
has to take a risk and to act on those abilities and ideas."
Those wise words from Maxwell Maltz remind us that success in
life is likely to involve some intelligent risk.
Those closest to you are not always supportive when you want
to take a risk, are they? Sometimes this is because they are
unwilling to take risks themselves. Sometimes it is because
it threatens what they define as security. No doubt there are
other reasons, however, will you let that stop you if you know
that this is the best thing for you to be doing next?
The key to risk is make it "intelligent". That intelligence
requires the mind, the heart and the gut operating
simultaneously If the heart and gut say no, it will be clearly
very difficult to bring passion to anything, no matter how
mundane. If only the mind is interested in the project, it
may never get off the ground. Things considered "calculated"
risks, are easier.
Think of the times you have not taken a risk--times when you
talked yourself out of doing something only to regret it
later. What can you learn from these times? What held you
back? Was it lack of self-confidence, funds, time, or some
other commodity? Was it fear of failure? Where would you be
now if you had chosen to proceed?
Risk it.intelligently!

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

It was clear to Tim and Sharon this was going
over Harriet's head completely. She was so stuck
on her idea that people cannot travel by higher
law, that she was unable to see past that idea.
Her response to Sharon's enthusiasm and joy over
her experience was a mundane, monotone "Thats
nice.". There was no understanding whatever.
Harriet saw Sharon's learning to live by
higher law as a threat. She saw it as sooner or
later going to have pressure put on her to learn
this higher law thing. She saw it as being a
source of ridicule from her friends and
acquaintances. She saw the possibility of being
cast out of her social position.
"Honey! I'm home!" Bob Smithson gave his usual
notification that he was home from work. That was
followed by the sound of the front door closing
and the closet door opening where he hung up his
jacket and hat.
Harriet mused at his greeting. He used it
every work day for the last thirty years.
Absentmindedly she did the calculation, five days
a week for say 50 weeks of the year for 30 years
thats 7500 times at least that she has heard that
greeting, plus he said it whenever he returned
from somewhere so this was the minimum number of
times she had heard it.
Bob instinctively knew something was
different. Always his greeting was answered by a
"I'm in the kitchen.", or "I'm in the bedroom." or
"I'm downstairs.", but today he received no
answer. It didn't register so much consciously but
something he was aware of, instead.
He walked into the kitchen and there he saw
his wife, Harriet, his daughter, Sharon, and Tim
Henry sitting at the table having a coffee. The
mood was serious. He didn't know why. In truth
they were all waiting for his reaction to Sharon
and Tim being home.
Then it started. "Where were you last night
young lady?" came the stern question.
Sharon, as she had been all this day, was calm
and responded with a loving demeanor, "Tim and I
were in South America, visiting his sister,
Daddy."
"Sharon, I'm a grown man. Don't go giving me
that garbage." His voice had elevated a little and
was louder. He really thought his 18 year old
daughter had just lied to him.
"Daddy, please sit and let me explain."
"Don't tell me what to do young lady. This is
my house and I'm the one that does the telling
around here."
It was obvious Bob Smithson was angry. It was
because his daughter was out all night and had not
told them where she was going or how long she
would be. Further, while he knew Tim's intentions
were honorable, he also knew that when two lovers
are alone together for that length of time things
happen. His imagination was running away with him
again. It was a common occurrence with his
daughter ever since she had passed through
puberty. He thought he knew what was happening.
"Daddy, I did not lie to you. I went over to
see Tim and we talked about what happened in
church that night. You were there so you know what
happened. Tim explained it all to me and he showed
me how I can live by higher law, just as he does.
I made the decision to do that Daddy."
"So? That doesn't tell me where you were
without notice to your parents, even the courtesy
of a phone call."
"Daddy, I had a talk with Mom earlier that
day. She knew I might not be home some nights. I
guess she just didn 't think it would be so soon,
or maybe she didn't believe me. After Tim and I
spoke we ended up hugging and kissing. Things got
a little heated up so we thought we best get
somewhere where there were other people. That
would keep us on the right path. Tim asked if I
wanted to go visit his sister in South America and
I said sure. So thats what we did."
"Sharon, you can't seriously expect me to
believe that do you?"
"
Daddy, I can't help what you believe. I do
know this. You have little, maybe no experience
with higher law as the Henrys know it. You do not
know how they travel of get things done. You have
only seen what they did at that chaos downtown
when that explosion hit. Higher law is much more
than that Daddy and it actually does permit
someone to travel just at the thought of doing it.
Tim took me down there and we had a most wonderful
time with his sister and her husband, her folks
and his folks. It was nice Daddy. I wish you could
have been there."
"I don't believe you. I want you to go to your
room so I can speak with Mr. Henry."
"Daddy, I'm staying right here. You have
nothing to say to Tim I cannot be a part of. You
are past being able to boss me around. That isn't
right."

HA! HA! HA!
A Jewish family invited their gentile neighbors for holiday
dinner. The first course was set in front of them and the Jewish
couple announced, "This is matzoh ball soup."
On seeing the 2 large matzoh balls in the soup, the Gentile man
was hesitant to taste this strange looking brew. Gently, the
Jewish couple pressed the Gentile man, "Just have a taste. If you
don't like it, you don't have to finish it."
Finally he agrees. He digs his spoon in, first picking up a small
piece of matzoh ball with some soup in the spoon, and tasting it
gingerly. The usual mmmm sound can be heard coming from
somewhere deep in his chest, and he quickly finished the soup.
"That was delicious," he said. "Can you eat any other parts of
the matzoh?"
