TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------

Are there really such things as elephant graveyards?

What was life expectancy like in the early days of America?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

How slow are elephants?

They may appear slow and ponderous, but elephants
are NOT slow. They can run faster than humans over
short distances and are actually quite agile. They can
also swim very nicely.

Do elephants really have extraordinary memory?

No, again. Their memory is good, thanks to their high
intelligence, but not better than other mammals.

Run Through The Rain
by Thea Swafford

She had been shopping with her Mom in Wal-Mart. She
must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red-haired,
freckle-faced image of innocence.

It was pouring outside.  The kind of rain that gushes over
the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it
has no time to flow down the spout.

We all stood there under the awning and just inside the
door of the Wal-Mart. We waited, some patiently, others
irritated because nature messed up their hurried day.

I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound
and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust
of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree
as a child come pouring in as a welcome reprieve from
the worries of my day.

Her voice was sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we
were all caught in.

"Mom, let's run through the rain," she said.

"What?" Mom asked.

"Let's run through the rain!" She repeated.

"No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down a bit," Mom
replied.

This young child waited about another minute and
repeated: "Mom let's run through the rain."

"We'll get soaked if we do," Mom said.

"No, we won't Mom. That's not what you said this morning,"
the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom's arm.

"This morning? When did I say we could run through the
rain and not get wet?"

"Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy
about his cancer, you said, 'If God can get us through
this, he can get us through anything!"

The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't
hear anything but the rain. We all stood silently. No one
came or left in the next few minutes.

Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she
would say. Now some would laugh it off and scold her for
being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But
this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A
time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will
bloom into faith.

"Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain.
If GOD let's us get wet, well maybe we just needed
washing," Mom said.  Then off they ran.

We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they
darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They
held their shopping bags over their heads just in case.
They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who
screamed and laughed like children all the way to their
cars. And yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material
possessions, they can take away your money, and they
can take away your health. But no one can ever take away
your precious memories... So, don't forget to make time
and take the opportunities to make memories everyday.

To everything there is a season and a time to every
purpose under heaven.

A friend sent this to me to remind me of life. I hope you
enjoy it. I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN
THROUGH THE RAIN. Keep in touch with your friends,
you never know when you'll need each other. Even if
keeping in touch just means sending along this email.

Make it a great week,

Thea

Who’s In Charge Here? Thinking About Our
Body’s Healthy Maintenance
PART 6 of 10

Your body functions and keeps you going 24/7. You
really contribute nothing consciously to keep this
going. By that I mean you don’t think consciously about
taking the next breath or making sure your heart beats
or your liver detoxifies. But there is one thing that
you HAVE to do and no one can do it for you. And this
one thing is crucial to your existence. It is the act
of eating and putting things into your body somehow. It
is the only way for you to keep living. Your digestive
system produces enzymes and bile to digest your food or
nutrients that now enter your body through your
conscious effort. Here is an example. You can only
“feed” your brain through the “cooperation” of your
digestive system. Same for any and all systems.

I am sure you have heard of people starving to death or
being starved to death. If no nutrients get into your
body, be it by tube or intravenous feeding or eating by
your mouth or through your skin, eventually your body
dies. Again, here, I am speaking in generalities. There
are some very special situations that differ from this,
but for our purposes of understanding our healthy
bodies, this is how it works. You may be able to
survive without food for a few days. You definitely
need water, but eventually all your systems are starved
and there is nothing left to provide energy: the fuel
that makes your body function. That makes nutrients
suddenly very important! And if you pay any attention
to diet discussions, weight loss management systems,
and all the controversial diets, you can see all sorts
of misrepresentation and misinformation. You must
recognize that your body needs macro nutrients:
carbohydrate, fat, and protein as well as
micronutrients: vitamins and minerals. And just as
balance is vital in all parts of the body, it is
necessary in the digestive and metabolic (energy
producing) process.

Now that you have a general understanding of your
body’s needs, it behooves you to ensure that you take
in adequate and life-sustaining nutrients. If not, the
body gets overburdened with toxins or waste products.
Just as there are main departments keeping you healthy,
there are waste management systems to clear out the
toxins. in the short term, the body can cope. In the
long term it is vital to your survival. For a longer
time, it will be at the mercy of toxins as they build
up and not removed. The liver and kidneys are the two
main areas of “detoxification”. That’s in essence how
you stay alive! Upset this balance and you could end up
with health problems.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"Well, sometimes that is the way people grow.
Sometimes that is how the young learn. Don't take
the fight thing too serious. I am sure she knows
the truth and has long forgotten it. Would you
like to go see her?"

"Yes, of course."

Tim put the coffee cups in the sink and the
pair of them went out for a walk. Tim sent
thoughts on ahead to let Sharon know he and her
Dad were on their way over to see her new 'digs'.

The walk was uneventful and they were soon at
the apartment. Tim went first and walked on
through the portico, around the pool, up the steps
and along the walkway. Bob Smithson was right
behind him.

Before Tim could knock on the door it opened.
"Hi, Daddy" Sharon said to her Father.

"Hi Honey. I have been on a most wonderful
journey just on my way to come bring you back
home. I see you won't be coming with me, but that
is all right. Tim and I have spent some time
talking, as have Mr. Henry and I. I am getting
closer and closer to understanding what happened
and what you are doing with 'higher law'.

"Oh, Daddy." Sharon was out the door and into
her Father's arms She sobbed "Thank you Daddy.
Thank you. Come in."

They held each other for another short while
and then released each other.

Sharon ushered them into her new suite. She
showed her Dad around and finally they sat down at
the table and had yet another coffee.

"If you spoke with Mr. Henry you must have
gone to the village in South America?"

"Yes, Sharon. Tim tricked me into going. I did
not believe it at first, yet there I was. It is a
beautiful spot. I loved it. But I can still hardly
believe I was there and back only by thought. I
was there all right. I had a drink and sat around
their supper fire and talked. I went to the beach
to see the river, the canoes, the kids and the
ball game. I know you and Tim were there for a
couple days. I just find it hard to understand."

"I know, Daddy. I know. That is one of the
reasons I decided to take this suite. I know it
takes time to understand. I want to come home as
often as I can to explain and show you what higher
law is about. But Tim and I have to walk a fine
line here, Daddy. We don't want you to think we
are trying to get you to convert. We will answer
any questions you have but we will never try to
convert you or anyone in the family. Do you know
that?"

"If you say so Sharon. I am not one to be
forced into anything."

"And least of all from your daughter, right? I
mean she is still young yet and you question some
of the things the young do."

"Yes, to some extent thats right."

"Thats okay, Daddy. I have nothing to prove
and what I really want is to live my life by
higher law so I can do the things Tim does. I not
only like that but I want to be with Tim, too.
Does that make sense?"

"Yes, Sharon but where are you going to get
the money to afford this? How did you pay for
this, even now?"

"Is that your money on the table, Daddy?"

Bob looked and there on the table in front of
him was a hundred dollar bill. "No that isn't my
money, Sharon, maybe its Tim's."

"No, Daddy. I manifested it. Look at it and I
will make it disappear just as I made it appear."

Bob looked and right before his eyes the money
disappeared. "That is how I got the table and
chairs, and the bedroom suite. And when I am done
with them I will cause the same thing to happen as
just happened with the hundred dollar bill."

"Aren't you playing with the United States
Treasury doing that? Isn't that what might be
considered counterfeit?"

"That bill was Daddy, but I paid for the suite
with a check. And tomorrow I will put money in my
account because of selling some gold I can
manifest with equal ease. The gold is 100 per cent
pure and is better than any gold held at Fort
Knox. One is not committing any crime by
manifesting gold."

"Well, Sharon. I don't like the idea you moved
out of the house, but I do understand why and I
support you for that. Are you going to complete
school?"

"Yes, Daddy. I will. I no longer need to, but
I will."

"Thank you for that. When will we see you
next?

"Don't plan on me for supper on any night. I
don't yet know my timing. If I come to supper I
will bring my own. If Mom or the boys want to come
see me they are welcome. So are you, anytime. And
I will be home, lots. If you and Mom have any
troubles over me living by higher law, let me
know. I can work with you to overcome them."

"We'll be fine, Sharon. I'll tell your Mom
though."

HA! HA! HA!

My youngest brother Tony had just completed Army basic
training and was on leave prior to his first tour in Germany.
I am an Army National Guard pilot and my other brother is
my crew chief. Since we were headed to the Air Base
where Tony was to catch his overseas transport, we offered
to take him.

When we landed at McGuire Air Force Base, several of
Tony's fellow privates came out to greet him. Tony ran
ahead, while my other brother and I followed with his gear.
As Tony approached his buddies, he was bewildered
by their dumbfounded stares.

Then he realized that his friends weren't seeing his two
brothers giving him a lift; they were seeing a new private
arrive in his own helicopter with a captain and sergeant
carrying his bags!
