ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Is there any group of people without cancer?
One group - the Hunza in Northwest Kashmir - reportedly
have not experienced cancer. The group is also said to
have unusual longevity.
Where do you find the most long-lived people?
Well, some would say the Soviet Union, where an unusual
number of people are said to have lived to great ages - some
more than 130 years old. However, there is no evidence to
support these claims. It is believed that some of these
super-elderly people lied about their ages in the past to
avoid military service.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
-----------------
Why Try To Be Someone You're Not?
People are illogical, unreasonable and self-centered.
- - - Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish motives.
- - - Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you win false friends and true
enemies. - - - Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
- - - Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
- - - Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
- - - Build anyway.
Folks favor underdogs but follow top dogs. - - - Fight for a few
underdogs anyway.
Some need help but may attack you if you help them. - - - Help
people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you will get kicked
in the teeth. - - - Give the world the best you have anyway.
In other words, folks, be yourself. The world is full of people
trying to be someone different than they are. They try their
hardest but ultimately find they cannot support it and that
lets them down and lets down those who depend upon
them.
Learn the lesson that you are no hero. You are just you,
and that is plenty good enough. Anything else is a sham,
a delusion, a fraud.
Some say, "Well what is this business of living your goal,
of living the dream?" The answer is that does not mean
you should not be the same old acceptable you. It only
means you are living as you want to live, within your means
and as your dream grows into reality.
Trying to be someone whom you are not is not only futile,
it leads one off the path or standard they set for themselves
and causes their judgment and morality to be based on
circumstance, not a standard they previously set for
themselves. It usually means one ends up chasing any
dollar they can see and renders one higher vulnerable to
those who would con him.
Being yourself and going according to your plan is the
safest, most practical and most successful way ...

Whos In Charge Here? Thinking About Our
Bodys Healthy Maintenance
PART 8 of 10
Lets go through some questions. Ill offer the
question and then help you walk through what might be
the problem. I will make some suggestions of possible
changes. Later in another example Ill share a couple
of blood pressure choices that have left me wondering
and shaking my head. You dont have to be a doctor or
health care professional to recognize possible
solutions. It is normal to want to be in control of
your health. Wellness is a state of physical and mental
health as opposed to dis-ease. Choose wellness.
I want to show you how you can think something through.
But please be a little cautious when you go to your
health care provider. Dont blurt out your new
knowledge and then expect the person to agree with you
immediately. Remember they havent had time to digest
and sort out all the details or possible alternatives
as you have. So be respectful of their knowledge and
insight. But now you are in a much better position to
discuss your situation clearly and answer questions
intelligently. That is really helpful. This exercise
will help you gain more control over your health.
Again, dont use this as a diagnostic tool, but the
very exercise of learning more, will help you feel less
frustrated. You will recognize and be able to separate
the serious from the less serious situations. That
leads to a much more responsible use of health care
facilities. Perhaps you have heard of the term
informed consent. Now you will be much more informed
as you give consent for treatment. And if you still
dont understand, you will have the courage to ask for
more detailed explanations.
Question: I have constant neck pains, which causes my
fingers and arms to get numb. Also I feel that I get
constant muscle spasms associated with feeling tired
almost all of the time. I understand that this is
because of my long work hours but I just want to ask
you if you believe this is because of STRESS? Answer:
In my own PERSONAL opinion, the answer is no. If this
happened in my own body, I would strongly believe that
no or little blood is being received in the circulation
area of my arms and fingers: hence the symptoms.
Circulation or blood supply brings with it all the
nutrients, such as energy and oxygen to supply the body
(or part) needs...if there is less than enough, I would
have symptoms such as lack of energy or tiredness are
definite signs...as are muscle spasms. Muscle spasms
are movements that are uncoordinated. From what you now
understand, these would probably come from a lack of
something: oxygen, nutrients, muscles nerve
misinformation?? Here is a link to read more.

http://www.niams.nih.gov/hi/topics/shoulderprobs/shoulderqa.htm
http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/brochure/thr_report.cfm?
Thread_ID=8&topcategory=Hand
The circulation gets "routed" via the shoulder and down
the arm...and the brain controls everything through
messages for all these actions. These tell your muscles
and fingers, etc. what to do. They come past your neck
and if you have "constant neck pains", something isn't
right in that area...can you see how it might or will
be affected if it goes through an area that isn't
working properly or blocking the blood supply? So if
the messages going to the brain are incorrect (because
there is a change in the stimulations of the nerves)
then the command coming back to the muscles (from the
brain) to do certain actions, would also be
inappropriate. It might be likened to cyclists at the
start of a race. One group of cyclists heard the
instructions to go one direction and the rest got a
message to go the other way. Could stress cause this? I
feel very strongly that we blame stress for too many
illnesses. It is an easy thing to do and a less than
helpful treatment. The person ends up being blamed
for something they are already trying to handle. BUT be
aware that there is another meaning for the word
"stress". And that might be what someone meant. Stress
is also the working or overworking of a limb
as in
"stress fractures". Or putting too much stress on
your elbow and blocking nerves and blood supply.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

The ladies had been talking for nearly all
afternoon before Mae saw that Shing Li was coming
down from that place of terror she had
experienced.
Susan and Psong had gone for a walk and were
speaking of essentially the same things Mae and
Shing Li were, analyzing what happened.
"I don''t understand why I was unable to help
Tsung." Shing Li was still coming out of her
bewilderment.
"When we live too close to a situation it
affects our judgment. You may be able to help
those in the village who come up with the same
malady but when it is your own family you permit
fear to be your master and then you fail. That
only causes the situation to become worse. Make a
pact with yourself now that you will call me or
another master the instant something is happening
to your family or one of your loved ones. That is
the safest. You must always maintain your
objectivity. Only clear thinking will carry your
commands and cause you the results you want."
"But I thought I was being level headed."
"Shing Li, when it comes to your family you
cannot be impartial. When the situation is
dangerous you cannot be level headed."
"I now see that. I am glad you came right
away. In my condition I would not have believed
things to be all right if you were delayed any
more time."
"Yet it is true. Had I been a day later we
could have caused Tsung to be brought back. All
would have been okay. That is how deep your
conviction must become. Your trust must be
absolute at all times and in all conditions."
"That is where it is hard, isn't it?"
"Only while your trust is building. When you
know then it is not hard. That is your task, to
get to where you know."
"Can I offer you some tea? We have been
talking so long and been so involved I forgot my
manners."
"Yes, I will have some tea." Mae suddenly
realized how involved they were. "Shing Li, can
Susan and I stay a while?" Mae raised her voice so
Shing Li could hear while she was in the kitchen.
"Yes, please." The voice came from the
kitchen.
As Shing LI came with the tea she asked "Is it
that you want to work with me more? I hope so."
"Yes, Shing Li. Plus the fact that Susan and I
missed you. We really enjoy your company, yours
and Psong's."
"That's nice of you to say but I failed in my
lessons."
"I wish I were without failure, but I am not.
I have things in my past of which I am not so
proud. Life grows because of failure, Shing Li. It
is not to take you down but to build you up. Learn
that. This episode here, today, is not a failure
but a lesson that will make you stronger, more
ready for your future. Look upon it as such. Take
the lesson from it and move on."
"That makes sense to me. I can see the lesson
and I will use it the next time a similar
condition prevails. I can also see how a Mother in
the village feels when a child is in danger. Maybe
that also is part of the lesson, an understanding
of those around me?"
"Yes, and if you now look back upon this day
you will also remember how it was handled and you
can do similar. Clear thinking will always produce
the best results. Emotion or involvement can
usually be credited with the worst, most
disastrous results."
"Can I change the subject just a minute?"
Shing Li wanted to discuss something that
concerned her.
"Of course."
"I have not been able to progress with higher
law as I wanted."
"What do you mean, Shing Li?"
"I can manifest food and I can manifest the
clothes the people need, but I have not been able
to do any other things."
"Do you know why?"
"No."
"Because you are yet fearful. You do those
things because I was here and showed you how. When
you have tried the other things you thought you
might be able to do them but you had doubts. They
were new, after all, and had you done them when I
was here you would have had the confidence. When
you tried them on your own you were afraid you
might fail, and you were right."
"Why is that? Why can I not do it right?"
"You can do it right. You just have to get
back to basics. The law is "Whatsoever you shall
ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." You
must trust the law to the extent you have no doubt
whatever. You believe absolutely. When you do that
then you have no trouble bringing forth what you
require."

HA! HA! HA!
It was election time and a politician decided to go out to
the local reservation and try to get the Native American
vote. They were all assembled in the Council Hall to
hear the speech. The politician had worked up to his
finale, and the crowd was getting more and more excited.
"I promise better education opportunities for Native
Americans!"
The crowd went wild, shouting "Hoya! Hoya!" The politician
was a bit puzzled by the native word, but was encouraged
by their enthusiasm. "I promise gambling reforms to allow
a Casino on the Reservation!"
"Hoya! Hoya!" cried the crowd, stomping their feet.
"I promise more social reforms and job opportunities for
Native Americans!" The crowd reached a frenzied pitch
shouting "Hoya! Hoya! Hoya!"
After the speech, the Politician was touring the Reservation,
and saw a tremendous herd of cattle. Since he was raised
on a ranch, and knew a bit about cattle, he asked the Chief
if he could get closer to take a look at the cattle.
"Sure," the Chief said, "but be careful not to step in the hoya."
