Was King George of England really insane?
Yes. King George III (1738-1820) most likely suffered from
porphyria, an inherited blood disorder that also affects the
nervous system. King George III went violently insane in
1788 and had to be placed in a straitjacket. Eventually, his
son took over as regent.

Firefox on the Brain
By Cory Treffiletti
Has anyone else been paying attention to Firefox?
I've hesitated to write this article for about two months
now, but the time has come to make sure that everyone
else is paying attention. In case you haven't heard about
it yet, Firefox is a browser offered by Mozilla, the open
source project.
It was released in November and has been downloaded
more than 18 million times already (for a current number,
check out www.spreadfirefox.com). According to various
sources, Firefox ranges anywhere from 6 to 11 percent
of the total browser market and it's only been in existence
for three months (yes, the beta has been out for longer,
but this is the "official" version).
Mozilla has been around forever and has always been
supported by the digiterati online, but this effort has gone
mainstream quite quickly. I've read articles in Time,
Forbes, Fortune, and Business 2.0 and seen pieces on
CNN Headline News.
The articles primarily tout the security aspects of Firefox
as being far superior to that of Internet Explorer (and we
ALL know how well the campaigning of fear can affect
the general populace). Beyond security, Firefox offers
a more customizable interface, which reflects the trend
towards personalization of the consumer media
experience, as well as the development of
extensions.
Extensions are no more than a plug-in for the browser,
but they continue the personalization by allowing you
to place more functionality into the browser itself. Some
of the extensions include a media player, a local weather
forecast tool, and others.
What's significant in my mind is that this poses the first
true competition for IE that we've seen in the last five
years. Netscape went away long ago and there have
been a number of new browsers launched since then,
but none have garnered the attention that Firefox has. In
the articles that I read and the reports that I see, the
coverage is eerily reminiscent of the type of buzz that
surrounded a certain search company when they first
launched and quickly became a household word.
Of additional significance is that Firefox is free. As far
as I can tell, no one is making money on this yet. Mozilla
is an open source project and runs as a non-profit
organization. The fact that so many people are supporting
this development by spreading the word ("Spread Firefox",
the site that I referred to earlier, is a free effort from a
PR agency) and creating extensions for the browser to
be posted on a number of sites for free, is intriguing.
The Web spread by the same kind of desire for free
information and services, so how will this effort continue
to spread?
I am sure that Microsoft is paying attention and there is
no doubt in my mind that they are working on a new IE that
incorporates the security features of Firefox, the tabbed
browsing model, and the other developments. Microsoft
rarely launches these envelope-pushing ideas, but they
always develop it later once the bugs are worked out.
That being said, when will Firefox become a large enough
portion of the equation to warrant the attention? When
will it reach critical mass?
Of additional significance is the aspect of Firefox that
includes an ad-blocking tool. Not a pop-up blocker, but an
ad-blocker. This tool allows the user to block a large portion
of the ads served to their favorite pages. This adds a
significant issue to ad-supported sites, but one that may
have to be addressed if Firefox gets adopted on a larger
scale and one that consumers will eventually figure
out how to use.
It's a great time to be in advertising, and a scary one if
you don't think about the future.

Whos In Charge Here? Thinking About Our
Bodys Healthy Maintenance
PART 9 of 10
Question: I was just told that the symptoms I've had
are those of TIA's. What is this and what do they do
about to help? Although I've been referred to a
specialist, I have to wait for 3 weeks to get in to see
him. So I'd like a little information about it now.
Thank you
Here are two sites that would be really helpful. This
includes a link to the actual description.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000730.htm
Here is a picture of the brain and what is happening...
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/8968.htm
In my experience, these are tiny strokes that give
warning to pay attention to situations that can raise
your blood pressure. It is often the brain's warning
signal before a larger warning MAY happen. Many people
have these and never have any more symptoms. But I feel
it is wise to look more closely at what your life is
like and what is keeping you from being more relaxed.
For many people, it is a wakeup call to see what is
happening in their lives. They need to check out
situations where they cant control the stress element.
Then you need to make some decisions....where to
continue or when to make some changes...I just finished
saying we blame stress often unnecessarily, but there
are real situations that people can alleviate some of
it. An awareness of possible choices or suggestions for
change allows you to think along other lines.
(Incidentally, I find it very interesting that once you
offer some other ways of looking at a situation, it
doesnt take long for that person to find their own
ways out of the challenge. VERY interesting!)
This is a brain" activity as opposed to a "heart"
activity. By that I mean the brain tends to lead to a
change in the body's ability to respond to motor
(movement) skills and cognitive (thinking/reasoning)
abilities. "Heart" activities or the lack of...could
lead to emergency situations such as a stop in
breathing and living. Think of your heart as strictly a
pump. It doesnt think it just runs. But your brain
is able to think. That is its primary function. A
clot in the heart vs. a clot in the brain brings about
two different results. Let me know if you would like
more explanation, but do check out the links...the
encyclopedia gives information that is easy to read.
Make sure you have all your questions answered. That is
your right.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"I guess that is what is holding me back. I
have not yet reached that spot where I trust
absolutely."
"That is usually the trouble most folks have,
Shing Li. There is no room for your emotions in
this work. You must always come from a point of
clear thinking and you must trust unconditionally,
without reservation or equivocation of any kind."
"I guess that takes practice. I will try."
"I don't want to jump all over you Shing Li,
however, I don't like that word try. It
presupposes there is room for failure. Just do.
Don't try. Don't allow yourself to think of any
possibility of failure. Don't leave room for any
doubt. Just do."
"You are so positive all the time."
"Shing Li, in your Maker's world there is no
grey. Things are or they are not. There is no in
between. In man's world man calls many things
grey. He has so many adjectives and adverbs he has
a color and a description for everything. By the
time you finally get to the end of study in man's
world you think anybody can be a 'little bit
pregnant'. Not so. In your Maker's world things
are or they are not. No middle. You do or you do
not. That's just the way of it. Jesus said 'You
are either for me or you are against me.' There is
no middle ground. There are no fence sitters.
Those who think they are on the fence are
against."
"I can see that Miss Mae, and I can see that
is why I was failing to get the results I wanted.
Whenever I went to manifest something I thought of
it on the basis from man's world, I was trying,
and that held the door open for all sorts of
doubt. I will learn to trust."
"There again, Shing Li, just do. It is a
matter of choice, not learning. You either trust
or you don't. You choose. It is no big deal. You
simply make the choice of what you are going to
do. You choose or you don't choose. You do or you
don't do."
"You say that if I want to learn that too
leaves room for failure?"
"I'm saying, Shing Li, that your Maker's laws
exist. They are. I am further saying you either
believe them or you don't. And I am further saying
you do or you do not act upon them. There is no
room for middle ground thinking. The sun always
shines. Just because there is cloud cover where
you are and you cannot see the sun, does that mean
the sun is not shining? And when you cannot see
the stars at night, because of cloud cover, does
that mean the stars are not there?"
"No, the sun always shines. The stars are
always there."
"That's right and so are your Maker's laws.
Therefore what happens is what you decide to make
happen. With doubt you can only get what man gets.
With absolute, unconditional, unwavering belief
you get what your Maker wants."
"You're coming on strong Mae. Are you
preaching to me?"
"Shing Li, truth is."
"Yes. I know that. I just needed to be
reminded. Thank you. I will do."
"That's my girl. I see Psong and Susan coming
up the road. They look like they are deep in
conversation just as you and I are. If you don't
mind, Susan and I will stay until you are
proficient at higher law."
"That would be nice Mae. We don't get much
company. The villagers come up here when they want
one of the meals you showed me how to manifest, or
if they want some clothing, but other than that we
see no one. You are a welcome guest."
"Hi you two. You look deep in thought."
"Hi Miss Mae. Miss Susan was showing me how I
live by higher law. I like. I do." Psong came back
enthusiastically. "Shing Li we now know how to do
this. Things going to be all right from now on."
"Yes, Psong, I think so. Miss Mae and I have
had a long talk. How are things in the village?"
"They are fine. Many came to see Miss Susan."
"That could mean many will be up here soon,
looking for miracles. Such is the way of man."
"Psong, did Miss Susan show you how to
manifest things? Or how to travel? Or how to walk
on water?"
"We did not do any of those things Miss Mae.
We just talk about them. MIss Susan wanted to make
sure I understood the law 'As ye sow, so shall ye
reap.' I learn that good. And I learn about
belief. I know how to live by higher law. I do."
"Good. Miss Susan and I are going to stay
until you know. We will work with you. When we are
done you will be masters."
"Miss Mae, why you not do that before?"
"Shing LI, the concepts of higher law are new
to man and they were certainly new to you and
Psong. You can only absorb a little at a time
until you have come to accept the belief the laws
exist, that your Maker exists within you and that
you can do these things. This is not just
intellectual knowledge, Shing Li. One must believe
it right in the core of their existence. Once you
do then you can live by higher law. When we first
met you there was no such concept running around
in you mind. We had to deal with that, and show
you. Then you had to make a choice. Having now
made that choice we can work with you."
"I'm glad you came."

From the back of the congregation, a woman's voice
