Side Effects of Broadband!

Strategy Analytics, a global research and consulting
company, reported an interesting finding today in a
study of broadband consumers in seven European
countries. In the study of 800 European broadband
users, 56 percent reported spending less time watching
TV since subscribing to a high-speed connection.
The report, "Broadcasters Beware: Broadband is
Stealing Your Viewers," suggests that broadcasters
ought to diversify their offerings with interactive TV
services, digital video recorder functions, and other
advanced TV services in order to meet the demands
of the newly empowered, in-control consumer.
"Television is clearly suffering the most from the rapid
growth of broadband," notes David Mercer,
Strategy Analytics' principal analyst, in a release
on the study. "A growing number of viewers are now
choosing to spend their spare time communicating
online and finding entertainment on the Internet,
rather than sitting in front of the TV set."

To create a link to a web address in Microsoft Internet
Explorer, you can choose File then Send Then Shortcut
to Desktop. You can also create a shortcut directly on
the desktop without even running Microsoft Internet Explorer.
To create a web page URL shortcut, right-click a blank spot
on your desktop and choose New and then Shortcut.
When the Create Shortcut wizard opens, type in the URL
in the form

and click Next. Type in a name for your new shortcut and

April Is Cancer Awareness Month
PART 1 of 4
"Courage means to keep working a relationship, to continue
seeking solutions to difficult problems, and to stay focused
during stressful periods." Denis Waitley Author and Speaker
It was good to meet June again. It's amazing what great
conversations you can have at the local recycling place. As we
were both flinging magazines in to the "glossy bin", I renewed a
friendship that has held for many years. We caught up on family
things and then I mentioned she had shrunk a bit. She shared
with me that she was just going through another bout of
chemotherapy to shrink another tumor that had sprung up while
everyone had thought things had settled down again. She didn't
sound too hopeful. I admired her courage in the face of this
setback. Personally I have only had one brush with cancer, but
that was enough to know that I could probably overcome the
negative aspect, but I would never seek out the experience
voluntarily. It's take great fortitude, courage, and
determination to face a real cancer experience.
My attitude now (it wasn't always like this, unfortunately) is
to be focussed on specific goals, to be positive, to accept my
reality, and then to move forward. I honestly try to live Dr.
Waitley's wisdom. I have the quotation framed in my office and
it provides me with the courage I need to go past the hurdles or
annoyances that confront me frequently.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"Why four nights?" asked Oomano.
"We invited most of them to come here the night before
the wedding, then there is the night of the wedding,
and I thought many would like to stay a couple nights
just to visit. From what you say happened at Missy's and
Mazunta's wedding the guests didn't want to leave and
stayed around a couple days. They will do that here, too.
By the way Riata, are you going to invite Sandra Geddes
from Australia? I think you should." replied Romano.
"Oh my God!" Riata threw her hand to her mouth. I've
been so busy I had forgotten about Sandra. I must go see
her today, if you guys don't mind looking after all the kids.
I haven't seen Sandra for over a month. Yes I will invite her."
They finished their meal.
Oomano and Romano went outside to work with the kids.
Abetta cleaned up and Riata left for Australia.
"Sandra! How are you doing?" she asked.
"Oh! Hello Riata. How are you. I'm fine, although I've been
thinking of you lately. I've wanted to talk with you about
some things." responded Sandra as she came over and
the girls hugged.
"I've been so busy lately, I haven't paid any attention to
you. I thought you were in good hands with your friend
Sadhu." answered Riata.
"Oh! I am. But you know, somehow two girls seem to be
able to communicate better than a guy and a gal, on some
things. Sadhu has been wonderful, and helpful, but I miss
your company. Can I close shop here and the pair of us
head up to the mountains again?" asked Sandra.
"Certainly. Let's go." said Riata.
Within minutes Sandra performed all the chores needed
to close shop. Putting a "Closed" sign in the window she
locked the door behind her.
It was a warm, sunny day, a day meant to be enjoyed.
They left for the mountains. There, too it was sunny,
though the increased elevation made it a touch cooler,
and the winds were more noticeable.
"I've been wondering about the law you told me about,
'As ye sow, so shall ye reap.' I've been wondering just
how far that goes, reaches." asked Sandra.
"Everywhere, everything. Nothing is exempt. The law
permeates all the universe and everything in it. But I
sense what you are asking is 'Does it affect the thoughts
of one's mind?'." said Riata.
"I guess that's what I'm asking." replied Sandra.
"The short answer is yes. Whatever thoughts you carry
around in your mind are likely to become manifest. That
is why it is important to stop talking to yourself in your
mind, and begin to see things as they are. Put no
qualitative nor quantitative judgment on things. Let not
your emotions color what you see. Things just are. They
are not good or bad. They just are." said Riata.
She continued, "You've had some things happen to you
that you don't quite understand, right?" she asked.
"When you allow your emotion to guide your
judgment you will be led down the wrong path. You
must keep your thinking clear of emotions. Use your
emotions to energize you, not to sap you of power by
coloring the way you look at things. Your head is for
thinking. Your emotions are for power. Mix the two in the
wrong way and bad things begin to happen to you. And,
I can see you still talk to yourself within your own mind.
That is a tough habit to break, but necessary. Stop talking
to yourself. Just look, listen, smell, taste, touch. That is
what the senses are for, to give you sound knowledge of
your environment. Your head will then think what is to
be done and it shall be done. Talking to yourself keeps
you in the realm of man, and man's judgment does not
go well with higher law." said Riata.
"That sounds like a tall order." spoke Sandra.
"Sure it is. Yet it is just training like all growth in life. It is
like learning how to type. If you force yourself to place
your hands in the right position, and then force yourself
to use your fingers as they should be used, then it comes.
You must not yield to the temptation to use just two fingers.
In the long run that will not work for you. But if you insist
on learning the right way you will be amazed at how
soon speed and accuracy come. The same with learning
to be silent within yourself. Practice consciously
everyday and it will come." said Riata.
