It Just Seems They Want It All!

A businessman on his deathbed called his friend
and said, "Bill, I want you to promise me that when I
die you will have my remains cremated."
"And what," his friend asked, "do you want me to
do with your ashes?"
The businessman said, "Just put them in an envelope
and mail them to the Internal Revenue Service, and
write on the envelope, 'Now you have everything'."
It's kind of a sad joke in a way, isn't it?
I speak not of the Revenue Service methodology, principles
or policies. However, I, too, feel I pay too much in taxes.
Then, when it gets too bad for me, that is to say when I really
am emotionally into the fact I think I pay too much in taxes,
it comes to me that I have had the privilege of traveling all
over the world.
When I remember what I have seen in most other parts of
the world, it makes me happy to pay my taxes.
I have seen those who have had no government sponsored
pensions to retire with. I have seen those with no health
scheme whatsoever. I have seen those where there is
insufficient government revenue to provide police and
fire protection.
If you would like to spend your life in a country where there
are no roads for travel or communication, no police or
military to stop those who would want to take over a
government by force, for their own selfish ends, then
consider that is what happens in countries where no taxes
are collected, and where law does not prevail.
It is, of course, true that each of us thinks our governments
waste money and that our taxes are too high. That
undoubtedly exists in any tax paying country. Sure there
is waste. Even each of us wastes our money. Sure there
are things the government does where some of us don't
approve.
Yet we want our freedoms. We want our benefits. We
want to be able to walk down the street without fear of
walking into the middle of an armed insurrection. We want
to have our government keep an eye on the movement
and severity of killer diseases.
Then, folks, we must be prepared to pay for these things.
As a world traveler, I can tell you I am always wonderfully
happy to come back to my home, where there is political
stability, where the government runs in a somewhat
predictable fashion, where my life is free and stable. I
like the process where we can get involved in political
affairs without fear of reprisal. I like the fact that we can
argue and debate our affairs, and have the will of the
majority rule.
Traveling to places outside the control of the U.S.,
England, Canada, Australia or other freely elected,
democratic country is good for your soul. I promise
you that upon your return you will not feel so bad when
you next fill out your tax return.

We get so many calls for information on Prostate
Cancer, that we have decided to run this article
again.
The PROSTATE Challenge

"I opted for surgery "
The word "resection" means to cut out. The prostate
gland may be cut out or "shelled out", (the operative
term ) in several ways. One way is by a Trans Urethral
Prostate Resection TUPR. The prostate tissue which
is blocking the urethra (base of funnel) is
"shelled out"/ cut out. This is a surgical procedure
performed in the operating room under aseptic
conditions, while you are either under the influence
of a general or a spinal (epidural) anesthetic. Anesthetic
means to experience no feeling during the procedure.
Most surgeons prefer the Retropubic to the Suprapubic
approach for the TUPR due to the greater amount of
muscle tissue involved with the Suprapubic and the
extended recuperation time. You will be watched
closely for any postoperative bleeding.
And hospital procedures
1) You will be asked to sign a "consent form". This is
a legal document, which allows the medical team to do
whatever is on the form, using their expertise, equipment,
and supplies. Please read this form very carefully.
Please UNDERSTAND this information AND the
procedure to be "performed". If you don't understand
the words, it is YOUR responsibility to ask. No one
will offer any explanations.
2) You will be told not to have anything to eat or drink
at least 6 to 8 hours before surgery time. It is VITALLY
important that you have an empty stomach as you go
into the OR (Operating Room). You might think you are
having a form of spinal anesthetic or have toe surgery
and that this is not important. It was a matter of life and
death to those people who had a drink of coffee while
waiting and then choked during the procedure....harsh
words, but please heed them. It is my gift to your
successful surgical outcome."and it was successfully
performed 2 weeks later. I have had several post-op
blood tests and the PSA levels are as near zero
as possible."

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

The prosperity of the region caused some difficulties
though. It seems that people from everywhere wanted a
piece of the action. Many approached the "circle" hoping
to find premises within which to establish businesses.
Fortunately, there were no empty spots. Many merchants
long ago realized the importance of the shrine and set up
shop as close as they could get. Neither were there any
dwelling places available.
Those with greedy hearts had to content themselves with
setting up shop outside the "circle". They did well
nonetheless, but it was not what they really wanted.
City officials were hard pressed to understand what was
going on within their own bureaucracy. It did not matter
how many people they sent to the orphanage they got
no results. They hand picked people for the job, but they
came back empty handed, and somehow, empty headed.
They debated long and hard on their course of action,
behind closed doors, of course, and finally decided to
do nothing. They had all the experience of years gone
by. They knew what had happened to the former mayor.
They knew what had happened to the Catholic Church,
it's people and it's financial condition, and they knew
they were sending in perfectly competent people, only
to have them come back confused and with no answers.
City officials were becoming suspicious, and decided
that they were doing well enough with the increased
tourism. They were actually afraid to pressure the
orphanage too much for fear of what would happen
to them. Like all greedy men, they were big and tough
when in a group and when armed with weapons, but
weaker than paper tigers when alone and unarmed.
They were truly a pathetic case, each of them.
Nonetheless they were not unlike mankind all over the
world. Pursuit of their own objectives was the overriding
motivation. Their pursuit of riches at any cost is what
drove them and many men, all over the world. Little did
they realize they were sowing the seeds of their own
destruction with those pursuits.
Greedy men from all corners of the city came down to
the "land of milk and honey", the "Garden of Eden". They
all wanted to become rich. Many plotted and conspired
to do evil in order to further their own ends. Yet when
they entered upon the circle to do such things their
minds became changed somehow and they became
completely powerless to reach their objective.
The "circle" drew all manner of mean tempered crook
and thug to the area from hundreds of miles around,
much the same as a gold rush did in years gone by.
The city was not too pleased with that for what was
happening was much of the "circle" was now being
surrounded with unsavory types. Police were kept very
busy outside the circle, just keeping law and order.
Yet never did policemen or firemen have to come inside
the circle to work at their jobs. There was simply no
law breaking of any kind within the circle. There was
no sickness, fire danger, or heart attacks within the
circle. There was never any reason for authorities to
come to the circle.
And the news spread.
It wasn't until many months later that city officials began
to plot on a map, the criminal activity of the city. It
happened first and without request, in the police
department. Solely for the reason of understanding
how to deploy it's men the department wanted all crimes
in the last year marked on a map of the city, using small
map pins. Once done it became miraculously clear there
was a distinct circle within which there was no crime
of any kind.
The police chief called the fire chief and asked him if
they had done the same. The answer came back
negative. The police chief invited the fire chief to come
over and have a look at his map. The fire chief did.
Seeing it, he was amazed.
He forthright went back to his office and required one of
his men get out a map of the city and do the same thing,
for all emergencies to which the fire department had
responded. Exactly the same picture developed. He
did not know what to make of it.
Calling the police chief he explained what he had done
and that he had shown the same results. The pair of
them requested an audience with the mayor.
The mayor could not believe what he was hearing. It
seemed strange to him and he wanted to see for himself.
He arranged to go to the police station the following
morning and ten.

Returning home from work, a goober was shocked to
find her house ransacked and burglarized. She
telephoned the police at once and reported the crime.
The police dispatcher broadcast the call on the
channels, and a K-9 unit patrolling nearby was the
first to respond.
As the K-9 officer approached the house with his dog
on a leash, the goober ran out on the porch, shuddered
at the sight of the cop and his dog, and then sat down
on the steps.
Putting her face in her hands, she moaned, "I come
home to find all my possessions stolen. I call the police
for help, and what do they do?
They send me a BLIND policeman!"
