What are the moving stones of Death Valley?
Stones and huge boulders, some weighing as much as three
quarters of a ton, baffled scientists for years with their
mysterious movement across the flat desert floor of Death
Valley, California. The rocks leave long drag marks behind
them, attesting to their motion, and apparently can move as
much as 900 feet in a single movement. What makes them go?
For many years, no one knew. Scientists now believe,
however, that wind and ice are responsible. The rocks are
found in dry lake beds. In wet years, water accumulates in
these lake beds and partially freezes into ice in the
winter. When it gets windy, the ice drifts and drags the
rocks, creating drag marks on the muddy lake bed. These drag
marks remain when the lake dries, and each mark has a rock
at the end of it.
What makes plants bend toward light?
Growth hormones called auxins are the culprit. The hormones
tend to concentrate on the shady side of a plant, causing
cells on that side to grow longer and making the plant lean
toward light. The scientific term for this reaction to an
outside stimulus is tropism. When sunlight is involved, it's
heliotropism.

You Need Motivation!
A lady is throwing a party for her granddaughter, and had
gone all out... a caterer, band, and a hired clown. Just
before the party started, two bums showed up looking for a
handout. Feeling sorry for the bums, the woman told them
that she would give them a meal if they will help chop some
wood for her. Gratefully, they headed to the rear of the
house.
The guests arrived, and all was going well with the children
having a wonderful time. But the clown hadn't shown up.
After a half an hour, the clown finally called to report
that he was stuck in traffic, and would probably not make
the party at all.
The woman was very disappointed and unsuccessfully tried to
entertain the children herself. She happened to look out the
window and saw one of the bums doing cartwheels across the
lawn. She watched in awe as he swung from tree branches, did
midair flips, and leaped high in the air. She spoke to the
other bum and said, "What your friend is doing is absolutely
marvelous. I have never seen such a thing. Do you think your
friend would consider repeating this performance for the
children at the party? I would pay him $50!"
The other bum says, "Well, I dunno. Let me ask him - HEY
WILLIE! FOR $50, WOULD YOU CHOP OFF ANOTHER TOE?"
It has been said that all of life is a stage and we are all
actors thereon.
Some are more motivated than others and for some of the
strangest reasons. I do not suggest you go cutting off body
parts to get yourself motivated. However, I do suggest you
find a real good reason for doing what you are doing.
You may want a million dollars, you may not. To reach your
success you will have to do some work, rely on the forces of
the universe, be inspired and put in late nights. Some of
that will be away from your family and all of it will mean
you will have to sacrifice some "good times" to get what you
are after. You better mean business.
Don't get half way, tire, then quit. Recharge your
motivation. Have a good long look at why you want your
objective. If the reason is sound, if your purpose is right,
recharging can be easy.
Some goals come quickly. Some take years. Whatever your
objective you are doing it for a reason. Discover that
reason and that is your motivation. If your reason is
founded on a whim, with no real substance or meaning, your
motivation will likely be weak and failure will show up the
first time it is tested.
If your reason is "to the core rock solid", if you mean
business, if you refuse to accept alternatives, then it is
likely that whatever obstacles you reach, you will overcome.
It is for that reason, too, we should remember that success
is in the journey, not in attaining the destination. A lot
of folks have a hard time understanding that point.
The point means we are to be happy as we proceed. We should
watch our progress unfold and take delight in each small
step. We should be "human" all the way and not so obsessed
we become obnoxious or arrogant.
Much success comes from helping those around us become
successful. Being there to do that, realizing that point,
remaining approachable, will sometimes bring your greatest
leaps forward. Enjoy the ride, the trip, the journey. The
destination will prove to be an anti-climax. When you get
there I hope and trust your new objectives, long ago
determined, will take you past the objective, keep you
active and full of fun.
Find your reason. Make it a solid one, one that will
overcome the challenges that lie before you. Do so and you
will most certainly succeed at what you are doing.

Here is yet another protective mechanism your body had built
in: the inflammatory process.

Again, just as your immune system is protecting you, so is
every single cell of your body. Your liver is filtering
constantly as are your sinuses. Your lungs are protecting
you as is your lymphatic system. And if you feed every
single part of your body with nutrients that heal instead of
adding to its’ workload, what would you conclude? That it
could protect you better and more quickly and withstand
other invaders, maybe? I find this fascination and very
hopeful!
This is why I think it’s so important for you to understand
this concept. I have already mentioned our success with one
particular degenerative condition (Meniere’s) in helping
people. In fact we also had the same success with other
degenerative conditions or chronic diseases. So I hope you
will study these concepts and hopefully understand, to a
small degree, why it can happen.
When this information first appeared in the June edition of
the JAMA, I was elated! It confirmed our findings. Of course
our work is not scientifically set up. We simply hear from
people what has worked for them. But to read these
scientific findings now gives our work much more support. At
least we know we are on the right track. I am now very
hopeful. The abstracts mentioned cardiovascular disease,
cancer and osteoporosis. But it also contained a very
important word in one of the paragraphs. This word
“including” is in this phrase “are associated with increased
risk of chronic diseases “INCLUDING” cardiovascular disease,
cancer and osteoporosis”.
To you this might not mean a whole lot, but to me it was
literally world-changing! I know from my own medical
experience, no one publishes “words’ without making sure
they are correct. (It is why I spend time defining medical
terminology for you.) Every single word used carries an
important message. I have already mentioned that chronic
diseases are degenerative. They are not part of the normal
aging process. Everyone ages. Not everyone has a
degenerative condition. I am sure you have heard of people
dying of “old age”. That is aging. This study singled out
cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and osteoporosis, BUT IT
DID NOT LIMIT IT TO JUST THOSE FEW CONDITIONS! It mentions
“chronic conditions including”. OH JOY!!
Keep these questions and thoughts in mind as you print off
the abstracts.

4Now for the story
The guests had all arrived on the downhill side of the
guest village that had been established. They all knew that
if they walked into the village as a group it would have the
villagers think there was an invasion. It would have put
everyone into an immediate inferiority complexed state of
mind.
Instead, they agreed to walk out and about one person at
a time, preferably those who might be known by the
villagers, and engage in conversation with one of the
villagers. The visiting group did this at about five minute
intervals, even approaching into the village from different
directions.
Within a couple hours the entire village was occupied
speaking with guests and not one villager had any idea what
had happened, when it happened or what was up. The
infiltration had been so successful, so quiet, so calm and
complete the villagers never even woke up to the idea there
were suddenly a lot of people in town.
The guests kept them talking about subjects in which the
villagers were interested, many of whom wanted to talk about
higher law.
The kids of the village were entirely more outgoing, as
kids everywhere. They all went running into the guest
village and lo and behold there were about 40 kids to play
with. The first thing you know they were all mingling,
laughing and playing as if they had always been together.
Adults could learn much from children.
All but a few of the guest children lived by higher law.
That mean a lot of the kids from the village wanted to talk
with them about that subject. Additionally the kids in the
guest village were in complete awe at the spectacle that was
going on down hill from the village.
The migration was in full movement. This was about the
middle of the migrating herds. There was game that could be
seen from horizon to horizon. There were dozens of different
kind of animals and all were grazing together.
Every once in a while there would be a flurry of
activity within a small part of the herds. Animals would
scatter and a hole would open up. When it was all over the
herds would again move back to grazing. That particular
style of interruption to the peace and calm of the herds was
caused by a predator on the hunt. Once the hunt was over the
herds returned to normal, even moving within feet of a lion,
cheetah or other predator.
Once a predator had its catch it would not attack again
for maybe days. The herds knew this.
So here you have a real mix. There were kids at the
village who had come from China. Some had come from South
America, others from the U.S.. There was a real mix. There
was much to interest all and they mixed and blended as if
adding coloring to a can of paint. Before you know it they
were one, not separate parts.
In the village proper, the fire had attracted all the
adults. Each was so engrossed in conversation it never
occurred to the villagers that the wedding event had begun.
Once you are talking about higher law and are eager to learn
you can easily lose sight of what is going on around you.
It was finally, some of the guests who rose and began to
offer beverages to the others sitting and talking. Not even
that penetrated the consciousness of the villagers. It
seemed perfectly natural. That was how the guests wanted it
to be.
The Old One looked at Sam, lovingly.
"Mr. Sam, I have never seen such a thing before. You
have conquered my people and they don't even know it." He
laughed and shared his joy with Sam.
Sam laughed, too. "Old One. If we had all barged in here
as a group it would have overwhelmed your people. They were
expecting guests but they really did not know how many. They
haven't even seen all the kids yet. So we decided we would
slip into the village one by one until the villagers were
all busy talking with one of us. It is better this way. Many
of them won't even discover what has happened until they
wake up tomorrow, but by then they will be all glad we're
here. It is a good way."
"Mr. Sam, it is amazing. My people don't even know what
has happened. I just sat here with you and watched. It was
wonderful. It happened slowly. There were no signals, no
alarms, no fear. Those who would conquer a land or a village
should pay attention. None can be more successful than this.
I thank you for the sight. It was wonderful. You and your
guests are most considerate. The village will be just fine
and will most clearly miss all of you when you have to
leave. Tomorrow they will again put their minds to the
wedding the day after. May I speak to you about that?"
"By all means Old One."
"It has come to me your son wishes to marry his girl,
the nice Chinese girl. It also comes to me there is another
couple who want to marry. I am not sure where this comes
from and I am not sure you know of all this. I wonder if we,
you and I, can cause them to be wed all at the same time?"
"Old One, it is no wonder you are a village elder.
You're a cagey Old One. My son wanted to speak to me on that
matter sometime in the next few days. He thinks it would be
a surprise to me. I like your idea and it will clearly
surprise him far more than he has ever been. What a
wonderful idea. I know how you received your thoughts.
Will the village accept it?"
"Yes. You and I will plan this tomorrow. Mr. Sam," the
Old One became sombre, "my time has come to leave this
world. I wish to speak with you on this. May we?"
