What are nuclear worms?
Like the northern snakehead, nuclear worms are a species
that shouldn't be in the US. Hot-pink in color and up to
FIVE feet long, the worms are being imported from Vietnam to
bait and tackle shops in the US. While they don't devour
everything in their path, like the snakehead, they are
dangerous to the environment and possibly to humans. Why?
They are believed to harbor bacteria from their native
country that could harm humans and aquatic life here. Why
are they called NUCLEAR worms? Biologists say they don't
know. Could be the hot pink.
What bird do scientists believe the (now-extinct) dodo is
related to?
The pigeon! New research by Oxford university zoologist Alan
Cooper reveals that the extinct dodo was a member of the
pigeon family. Cooper extracted DNA from a stuffed dodo and
compared it to 36 species of birds thought to be related.
The pigeon was the match.

Here's To Think On . . . with Ken Darby
-----------------
Accept The Inevitable!
Early in my flying career, I had my first night flight.
Looking down into the darkness, I asked my instructor what
we would do if the engine failed.
"Get the plane gliding in a controlled descent," he said,
"then attempt to restart the engine and make a 'Mayday'
call. The only difference between day and night flying is
that the terrain below will not be clearly visible, so you
should point the aircraft toward whatever looks like a clear
area and it should be pointing into the wind."
"Then what?" I asked.
"Conserve your battery, so don't turn on your landing lights
until you're close to the ground. If you like what you see,
land."
"Okay, but what if I don't like what I see?"
My instructor gave me a compassionate look inside that dim
cockpit, then said softly,
"Turn off the landing lights."
Sounds scary doesn't it? Yet there are times in life when
all you can do is sit back, relax, and let things happen.
Over the years it has come to my attention we should do that
more often than when we are forced to.
When a farmer works his land, plants his crop and ensures
the insects aren't eating it up, there are many days when he
does nothing but watch it. He realizes that not only is
there a time for planting and a time for harvesting, but
there is also a time for waiting.
The point is that when you do your planning right, when you
have done all the work, when you know there is not much more
you can do - - - you can wait.
It can be a unique situation, often is. I have a web site I
put up simply because truth must be told. I do very little,
almost nothing, to promote it, yet it regularly gets
attention by those who are interested.
That is the way your business can go, too. Work hard at it,
yet realize there are times when you can only sit back and
let things happen.
There is a saying, amongst Christians, that says "Let go and
let God." Many times that is far more appropriate than we
like to think.
One of the difficulties with the way we live life today is
we give no attention to the real spiritual side of nature
and ourselves. Yes we go to church, but that does not deal
with our spiritual side, That deals with church stuff.
When you take the time to go inside yourself and meet your
Maker, then you are dealing with the real spiritual side.
There you can learn to be comfortable with letting go.
There, too, you can learn to relax on a regular basis,
knowing that all will be well, that you cannot build Rome,
or your business, in a day, that there is a real need for
time for things to "grow" so to speak.
Your enthusiasm, your eagerness to make things happen will
take over you and make you think that if something isn't
happening then you must make things happen. Bear in mind it
takes time for people to learn of what you offer, it takes
time for them to come to trust you, it takes time for them
to make a decision.
Let not your eagerness get in the way of real progress.
Learn to sit back and wait. Learn to go through the period
of blending, mellowing, growing, maturing. Learn to - - -

Bones: Dont Take Your Support
System For Granted
PART 3 of 9
Bones work in teams or alone: can be tiny or very
large. The femur is the longest bone in your body. The
leg bone is one long set of bones working top to
bottom...the middle ear has the three tiny bones
connecting side to side. And the ankle area, with its
tibia, talus, and calcaneous, combines to form a joint:
top to bottom and side to side. Each group of bones has
several parts, joined to each other by soft tissue
connections, moving in harmony. All allow for
flexibility of movement but with strong support. You
can have flat bones as in the skull, iliac crest or the
shoulder blade, small round ones as in our fingers, or
hollow ones for your eyeball to sit in. We tend to
forget that teeth are bones of a special composition,
but they are an integral part of your existence. Where
would you be without them!
What do bones do? Like all parts of your body, bones
have a local function and a systemic function.
Locally, they perform the ongoing work of keeping their
cells active and healthy. Systemically they do their
framing, protective, and metabolic work. Supporting
would include whatever part of your body they are
upholding: a finger, a spine, an ear canal, an eye
orbit. Bones give form as a framework for all other
tissues and systems to be connected over and around and
through your body. This framework also offers
protection to such vital organs as the brain and heart.
Some bones are hollow with shafts through their
centers. Others appear to be flat. Small bones such as
the malleus, incus, and stapes are in the tiny confines
of the middle ear. They work as a special team. They
have little to do with support, but everything to do
with hearing (and in some cases, balance). Their work
relates to the transmission of vibrations and
electrical impulses. Large bones such as the skull,
femur, and pelvis work more independently but are also
connected to other bones. There are many bones that
appear to be shifting, yet they are solid. They
function and act as a framework for the body to live
in.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

4Now for the story
Sam's next step was to speak with Billy and Sonora. He
waited until just before the wedding ceremony began. Billy
and Sonora both said a wholehearted yes, and the plan was
on.
For Billy and Sonora this turn of events suddenly took
them out of themselves and their self consciousness. It made
the day completely more meaningful and enriched their own
lives to such an extent they would never forget. It made the
emotion of the moment and the day so heavy, rich and all
consuming. It really made the wedding much more memorable.
After they said yes to the proposal from Sam, he had to
scurry around and get the people to handle the rest of the
ceremony. He wanted Riata to walk beside Reno and he would
walk beside Amenti. Mae and Sue were naturals to walk Tlang
up the aisle and in his absence Maz could do the job with
distinction, for Tom.
None of this had been discussed with Tom and Tlang or
Amenti and Reno. They were in the wedding party anyway and
were awaiting their turn to walk up the aisle as bride's
maids and groom's men.
When Sam, Ben and the others held them back they were
completely confused. This was not part of what they had
practiced the night before.
Then, when Sam had Amenti and Reno stand together and
Tom and Tlang stand together the kids knew something was up.
That was not the formation they had practiced either.
Suddenly the thoughts of what was happening started
going through their minds.
Reno grabbed Amenti's arm and hung on for dear life.
Tlang did the same to Tom. Was this thing happening they
thought was happening?
Finally, Sam returned from the front, having delivered
Billy. He took Amenti and Reno and ensured they were arm in
arm. He stood in front of them and looked at all four. Each
of them had their heart in their mouths.
Sam had a smile on his face and a gleam in his eye. He
could see the pent up emotion in the four of them. He, too,
began to get a tear.
"Would you two couples like to get married today?" Sam
spoke softly, gently, but his words were heard at the core
of each of the four.
The girls immediately burst into tears and sobs. The
guys, too, found it hard to keep from crying. This was too
much. None had expected this.
Sam asked the question again.
Each looked him in the eye and nodded. They were too
choked up for words.
Sam took a quick look at Mae and Susan. They were
bawling their heads off. For two mature ladies, they cried
like babies.
It was getting harder and harder for Sam to keep control
of himself, too.
The kids, too, were all crying.
Sam turned and nodding to the Old One, began to take
Amenti and Reno up the aisle.
Maz brought Tom and Tlang.
Now these two were on their alone time at one end of the
Serengeti.
The first night was a touchy one for Tom.He wanted Tlang
so bad he was beginning to come on to her like a predator.
She understood for the same feelings were in her as well,
but somehow she was afraid.
Tlang, as a young child, was sexually abused after her
folks were killed in an accident. She was an orphaned girl
seeking food and clothing. A restaurant owner found her and
fed her often enough she trusted him. He brought her into
the restaurant and forced her to look after his male clients
if she wanted to eat. These male clients treated her as if
she were an animal and caused her to do all sorts of thing
no child should ever see or do.
The restaurant owner didn't mind what happened to Tlang.
She would do as the men wanted or he would simply find
another. In the meantime he had his way with her too.
A couple times Tlang tried to run. She was too young to
know where to go or what to do so she really never got too
far out the door. As far as the restaurant owner was
concerned he would keep her here, in the dark, to do the
favors for the men. He didn't care about her in any way
other than that so she was actually a child sex slave. He
even beat her if she ate too much. That she was becoming
sickly never concerned him. She would serve his needs until
she died and he would go find another one. The streets were
full of such kids.
Then one day, almost as if by a miracle, a couple white
ladies came into the restaurant. These were different
people. They were certainly strangers in the land, but they
were different in other ways too. They seemed to know
immediately there was a problem with the little girl curled
up in the corner. They sent love unto her and she could feel
it.
Before Mae's and Susan's meal was over the little girl
had come over to them. She sensed these two might be her
ticket out of here. The owner did too and began to get
physically offensive, demanding the girl do things. Mae and
Susan stepped in and a fight broke out. It wasn't a fair
fight. The man never had a chance, but by the time it was
over he was lying on the floor and his restaurant was a
mess.
The ladies extended their hands to Tlang and she took
them. They three of them walked out of the restaurant into
the bright sunlight. Tlang had not seen the light of day for
nearly a year.

HA! HA! HA!
The Jewish Chronicle had heard that Benny was coming up to
his 110th birthday so they sent one of their reporters to
interview him.
"How do you account for your longevity?" asked the reporter.
"You could say that I am a health nut," Benny answered. "I
have never smoked or drunk alcohol, I am always in bed by
ten o'clock, I've been going to Israeli folk dance classes
since I was a teenager and I've always walked three miles a
day, even in rain or snow."
"But," said the reporter, "my uncle Saul followed exactly
the same routine and he died when he was 75. So how come it
didn't work for him?"
"All I can say," replied Benny "is that he didn't keep it up
long enough."
