Predictions for the Future? Let's Not Forget the Present

I'd say that the projections provided by Jupiter this week are
actually conservative. Online advertising will double by 2009?
Why wouldn't it double in the next five years? Consider that it
went from $2.1 billion in 1998 to $6.6 billion five years later, in
2003. And, it did this despite the Internet bubble bursting,
despite analysts' projections about broadband penetration
being overblown by as much as 100 percent, and despite
an overall ad market recession.

Digital Music Sounds Sweet to Music Industry
July 30, 2004 (From eMarketer Daily)
Jupiter Research finds strong growth for the digital music
industry through 2009, but CDs will still hold their own as
the dominant music format.
A newly released study by Jupiter Research finds that digital
music sales revenues will reach over $270 million in 2004,
more than doubling revenues from last year. By 2009, digital
music sales revenues will reach $1.7 billion, equivalent to
about 12% of consumer music spending. The strong growth
of revenues between 2003 and 2004 will help the overall
music industry bounce back from four down years of lower
sales since 1999, though the industry still has a way to go
before it reaches the lofty revenues it saw back then.
Complimenting the growth of digital music are the continuing
sales of MP3 players, five million of which will be shipped in
2004. Jupiter projects shipments are set to grow 50% for
each of the next few years. Furthermore, a recent study from
Informa Media Group projects that worldwide sales of MP3
players will increase by a CAGR of 45% through 2010.
Online digital music services that let users buy MP3s at a
per-song rate, such as iTunes or the re-launched version of
Napster, have established a business model in their short
existence of coding the songs bought on their site so that
they can only be heard through certain MP3 players (owned
by the same company or connected through a licensing deal).
The MP3 player market could be on the verge of a major
change, however, depending on how recent events play out.

"Three Fingered Salute"
Right now, you can press three keys on your keyboard, and
Windows will prepare to abort itself. Those three keys are
Ctrl, Alt, and Delete. Pressing them is known by geeks and
nerds as "the three fingered salute." Try it. You won't
hurt anything. You can click the Cancel button.
When you press the three-key combo, the Close
Program dialog box appears. It's a fail-safe. When a program
stops responding, or a your computer seems to freeze,
you can try the salute, or if things really get bad you can
try the two fingered salute.
Hold down the Ctrl key. Now, while keeping it depressed,
press the Esc key.
With any luck, the Start menu will open. You'll then be
able to gracefully exit windows without it committing
sudden death on you, requiring a reboot and a run of
Scandisk. (By the way, when you do reboot, and Scandisk
wants to run, you can just press the Enter key and the
process will be skipped.

Your hormones control the release of the egg, but it still needs
the male sperm to fertilize it. I have added the contraception

They all had a good sleep that night and when
they awakened the sun was shining to start another
warm and bright day.
They had a bite to eat around a small fire.
Tlang was eating voraciously. Her body had not
seen food, good food, for quite a while and she
was replenishing what her body lacked.
Susan took her aside and sat her down in front
of herself. They faced each other, camp fire
style, and Susan looked directly into Tlang's eyes.
"You have been traumatized by your recent
past. Do you know what that means?"
"No" responded Tlang.
"It means that the death of your parents,
followed by the behavior of those who pretended
to save you have created an emotional condition in
your mind that will, from this day, have a serious
bad effect on your mind, your heart, your judgment
and the way you see the world. It is not right and
we should correct it."
"I don't understand, Miss Susan."
"What those men did to you have caused you to
think those things are bad. It has set up a fear
in you so that any relationship with any man in
your future will be affected wrongly. I agree what
those men did was wrong, but what has happened is
that you have absorbed an 'emotional position'
from what you just went through. You must learn to
think around that emotion. What happened to you
was neither good or bad. It just happened. Do not
carry any thoughts, feelings, ideas around about
what you went through. If ever anything like that
were to happen again, you must again not permit it
to hit you emotionally. You must look on these
things as detached, as if they do not affect you.
They have a saying in India that if rape is
inevitable, you might as well enjoy it. What they
are trying to get at is do not allow yourself to
be traumatized by the experience."
"I think I see what you are saying. You want
me not to forget about what happened. You just
want me to learn that I should not worry about it
or let it spoil my life" said Tlang.
"More than that Tlang, I want you to look upon
it as if it happened to someone else, as if you
were watching a motion picture or something. These
events have not made you a bad person. They have
not created a bad girl, unless you believe they
have. You were forced into a situation you would
never have chosen if you were given free choice.
That you had to do these things to survive in no
way makes you a bad person. If you use the
experience wisely you will end up a better person,
much the wiser for it. So I am saying you are to
learn that you are a good girl, a wonderful girl,
and that this experience has made you much wiser
than most. You might want to consider yourself
thankful for now you know much about human nature
that you would not ever have been able to learn."
"Is that good?"
"You can make it good, Tlang. You can take
that experience and use all you learned for the
good of all those you meet during the rest of your
life. That is how you can take a bad experience
and make it good, not only for you but for others
as well. You can take the trauma and turn it into
a good thing" said Susan.
She went on. "That way the death of your
parents will have been good for you and for many.
Otherwise they will have died in vain. This way
you can make their love and devotion to you worth
all the effort they put in. How's that?"
"I think that is fine. I don't know if I can
do that, but I will try. I did not like being in
that cafe. I did not like what they did to me."
"I know, Tlang. If you like, I will help you
now to overcome that. I can, with love, help you
forget the bad things. Would you like that?"
"Yes"
Susan reached out and put a hand on either
side of Tlang's face. Tlang immediately felt a
force, an energy, flowing into her. "Tlang, close
your eyes. I want you to see your Maker loving
you, accepting the good person you are."
The process was that of flowing love energy
into this little girl. It caused her to lose the
severe emotional hatred and fear she developed
from her last few months experience. Susan caused
her soul to be washed with love and forgiveness.
From this time forward this little girl would have
a decent chance at life, without the trauma of the
past events. It would free her up to be a
child of her Maker.
This procedure took less than five minutes but
the love the child felt would last her forever.
When done, Tlang did not want it to be over.
She could not remember such love since her parents
were drowned. She tried to find it, but the men in
the restaurant only wanted her for one purpose and
none offered love, but brutality and unforgivable
taunting.

A couple were driving to a church to get married. On the way,
they got into a car accident and died. When they arrive in heaven,
they see St. Peter at the gate. They ask him if he could arrange
it so they could marry in heaven.
St. Peter tells them that he'll do his best to work on it for them.
Three months pass by and the couple hear nothing. They bump
into St. Peter and ask him about the marriage.
He says, "I'm still working on it."
Two years pass by and no marriage.
St. Peter again assures them that he's working on it.
Finally after twenty long years, St. Peter comes running with
a priest and tells the couple it's time for their wedding.
The couple marry and live happily for a while. But after a few
months the couple go and find St. Peter and tell him things are
not working out, and that they want to get a divorce.
"Can you arrange it for us?" they ask.
St. Peter replies, "Are you kidding?! It took me twenty years to
find a priest up here. How am I gonna find you a lawyer?"
