What is cryptozoology?
Cryptozoology is the study of unknown or "hidden" species of
animals - creatures that may or may not exist. The most famous
examples of such creatures are the Loch Ness Monster and
Big Foot, but there are hundreds of others.
Have there been any cases of animals that were believed to
be fictional that actually turned out to be real?
Sure. One example of a real-life animal that many scientists
doubted was real is the okapi. The Mbuti Pygmies of the
Democratic Republic of the Congo had reported sightings of
this strange, reclusive mammal for years. They said its lower
half was striped like a zebra and that it had a long, bluish-black
tongue for plucking leaves. But it wasn't until Sir Harry Johnston,
governor of Uganda, "discovered" it in 1901 that scientists
believed in the Okapi. Now you can see one at the Baltimore Zoo!
The okapi, it turns out, is a short-necked relative of the giraffe.

Identity Theft -- a personal story

Story number one did not involve theft of my social security number
to get credit cards. Now for story number two.
Story number two involves someone using my social security number
not to obtain credit cards, but to obtain employment.
Remember when I wrote above that the Credit Agencies had me living
in Sanger, California? Here's why.
Almost one year to date after the first call from the lawyer in
Colorado I received a letter from the IRS stating I had back taxes
I owed them.
I called them and they sent me all records they had for me for the
past seven years. I get these records and what do I find? I have
worked all over California under a man's name who lived in Sanger.
I was wrong to state I was a victim of identity theft twice in one
year. I should have stated I was made aware of being a victim twice
in one year. This man of Sanger has been using my social security
number since 1997. It took until 2004 before I ever knew about it!
The IRS said I had one month to prove I did not work in those places
all around Sanger, California.
So now I'm off to the following:
Filing another police report
Writing the credit agencies
Filing a report with the Consumer Identity Theft Org.
But, now I have to call all these companies in California (on my
dime). Of all the companies listed, ten plus companies, only one
had a valid phone number. But they didn't speak English. No help
there.
And there were no listings for this man of Sanger.
I spent a month worrying, in yet another panic mode because I didn't
know how I was going to prove that I didn't work for these companies.
The IRS stated I needed something in writing from all these companies
stating they never employed me.
On the day I was required to call the IRS with proof I never worked
for the companies I spoke to an agent that couldn't find anything of
what I was talking about. All of the sudden, Mr. Sanger, California
was no longer on my IRS report. What the????
After talking with a few different IRS agents, and a few hours on
the phone with them, I discover they removed all of his information
on their own as they determined it wasn't me. I spent 30 days trying
to clear that up and worrying the entire time! They removed it three
weeks before.
So see, Identity Theft is not always about credit cards. Yes, it's
typically about your credit. But both times I fell victim it wasn't
about someone filling out an application to get a credit card.
Many people with bad credit believe they will not fall victim to
identity theft. They need to think again.
So how do you protect yourself? It's hard. How did Mr. Sanger,
California get my social security number? Was it just a random guess
on his part? What are the odds? Well, here's your proof it can happen.
CNBC reports that identity theft is a war we won't win any time soon.
CNBC reports that over 9 million people in 2003 fell victim to identity
theft.
One out of every nine people reading this article right now will fall
victim to identity theft.
What do you do when it happens to you?
1. File a police report immediately and then after the officer completes
it, pay the fee to obtain your own copy. Immediately make several copies
of that report and then file it away.
2. Regardless of the type of identity theft, report it to ALL three credit
agencies. Equifax (800.525.6285), Experian (888.397.3742) and
Trans Union (800.680.7289). This just in case something does
appear on your report.
3. Get online and get a copy of your credit report from all three agencies.
You can get it for free simply by subscribing 30-days free to a financial
advising service. Here's one such site:

You can cancel the free trial prior to the 30 days end, but only do so
after you have printed your report from all companies.
Remember, check your report at least once a year. Personally, I
advise you to do it twice yearly.
4. Call the Consumer Identity Theft Organization. 877.438.4338.
File a report with them. They will provide you with a reference
number that you need to have on record. Do this step ONLY after
you have filed the police
report(s).
5. If your identity theft involves the use of your social security
number, call the Social Security office in your city. Or you can call
800.772.1213. They need to be aware of this. You'll need the
reference number the Consumer
Identity Theft Organization provided to you.
6. Not a necessary step, but one you may want to consider. Change
your social security number. Start new. If you have a long, established
credit history, think twice before doing this. But if your credit isn't
all the great, then I would recommend you do this.
7. Visit: http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/ complete the complaint
form on that site. Will filling out this claim personally do you any
good? Most likely it will not. The importance of doing this is to help
agencies and law enforcement develop cases and establish patterns.
You filing the claim is helping all of us against the war on
Identity Theft.
Mr. Sanger, California and Ms. BadCheck Colorado will most
likely not be caught - or if they are, I'll probably never know
about it.
Identity Theft is considered white collar crime and it will never take
precedence over violent crimes.
How can you avoid it happening to you? According to a report on
CNBC they state if you can, only use credit cards to pay for things
because credit cards are protected by federal law.
They state you should never use paper checks or debit cards.
ok, that's fine for those who have great credit and have credit
cards. But for those that can only pay for their bills with checks -
what does one do? I guess just keep your fingers crossed it will
never happen to you.
But you can protect yourself by investing $20 for a shredder.
Shred anything and everything with any type of personal
information.
Take the time to actually look at your credit card statements
each month. Look for odd charges on them. Many times we
don't go over them in detail. Take the time, it's worth it.
In reality there's nothing we can do that will absolutely stop
someone from stealing our identity. But we can take extra
steps to deter it a bit.

(her own employer stole her identity) is:

I would never wish what happened to me to happen to
anyone else. Mentally, emotionally and physically it's a
horrible thing to happen to anyone.

some tools to assist you.

You can find out every detail about the insides of your
computer by putting Doctor Watson to work.
From the Start menu, click Run. In the Run dialog box, type
"drwatson" without the quote marks.
Then click OK or press Enter.
You won't see anything happen! That's a very important
point. But if you observe closely, you'll see a new icon
appear in the system tray (next to the clock). It's the
Dr. Watson icon!
Right click the new icon and choose the first line item,
'Dr. Watson.' A system "snapshot" is taken. A report will
appear on your screen, saying "you' have a mess or
"everything's fine." If you've got problems, Dr. Watson
will diagnose them.
Leave Watson running, do your thing, then check back for
an updated report. If stuff is still working right, you'll
get the same "everything's fine" report. If not, you'll
know that, too.

If you have kept abreast of environmental information in the
last few years, you would be somewhat concerned. Our air and
water pollution has increased. The sun is much stronger and more
harmful as its rays are not filtered as much by a shrinking
ozone layer. The use of pesticides and antibiotics has
increased. Fast-paced lifestyles require prepared
(over-processed foods) that have little or no nutritional value,
and lots of preservatives and additives. We wash with chemicals.
We brush and shampoo with them. We drink them and put them on
our skin all day long. Busy lives are stress-filled and leave
little room for relaxation. The list can go on ...these tax your
immune system tremendously.
So good nutrition has become a very important part of your
everyday decision process. It will provide your body with the
energy and strength, and the building blocks it needs. As well
it will provide the means or the ability to heal and fight off
infections and diseases. Poor nutrition causes fatigue, weight
loss, and subsequently you are unable to give your best effort.
It allows the degenerative process to get a foothold.
There are many nutrients that your body needs every day. Can you
figure out what is missing? I can't. If you can't get all the
required nutrients through diet, nutritional supplements may be
needed to support your body against these chronic (degenerative)
diseases that are just waiting to attack. Maybe you are just
hoping to get back some energy. When you provide your body with
nutrients at optimal levels, the body is able to function at a
high level and it will result in better health.
Biochemical research now enables us to determine what is
happening in every part of every cell. The very essence of
degenerative diseases is coming to light. This same research is
also revealing that oxygen that is so necessary for life has a
dark (or less pleasant) side to it. In many ways, our activities
end up as oxidative stress. This is now being recognized as
causing one or more of these degenerative diseases. It is also a
well-known fact that degenerative diseases are preventable. The
prevention of the progressive discomfort and end stages of many

no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each

adventures and many places.

Tim and Tom along with Billy Hendricks were
playing down on the beach. They had been involved
in the game of ball with the kids from the
village. All were having fun.
Mealtime had come and gone without notice, the
game was that serious. The village kids loved it
when strangers participated. It gave a whole new
dimension to the game, and they loved it when they
were able to get an advantage over their guests.
Living by higher law, though, gave the three
guests an advantage. Yet they did not use it for
the point of the game was fun, not winning.
Boys and girls played with equal zeal. All
were treated equal, with no differentiation
between the sexes. It was not until puberty that
the girls found other things that interested them
more. They became acutely aware of their bodies at
that time and other instincts prevailed. But the
young ones played ball right up against the boys.
Occasionally a young man going through
puberty would show signs of the changes happening
to him, and in that case his modesty would usually
have him leave the game until he got himself under
control. That kind of thing only lasted for a
little while and all the young men and women in
the village knew about it and what was expected of
them.
The village training was such that the youth
respected the rules of the village. Everyone at
that age was aware when another was going through
the change. No one could keep that secret. As a
result everything was out in the open and all in
the village helped the process and the
participant. So the change of life at that point
in a young persons life was no big deal and was
expected. What was not expected was the mood
changes it caused. The adults knew, of course.
Even the young knew. But they did not know first
hand what it felt like until they were well into
puberty. This was the time they all learned self
control. They learned that happiness was a choice,
just as moodiness was a choice.
The training the village gave their young on
this point was more valuable than most folks know.
It kept the village whole, concerned about its
inhabitants and well educated on the things that
could cause trouble within it.
The sexual practices and dress here was
entirely different than in the U.S. These folks
were much more liberal in their thinking, teaching
not celibacy, but responsibility. It was their
contention that sex, love, birth, death were all
natural parts of all life. None of it was good or
bad but became so only in the one who thought it
so. However, sex led to all sorts of problems on
which the children were well trained. They knew
well that if they did not want the problem you
avoid the condition that creates it.
In that manner life went on and was peaceful.
The average person in this village took a wife or
a husband in their late teens. Once committed they
sought no other. The union was blessed by village
elders in much the same kind of ceremony Eloise
and Mazunta went through. The ceremony had deep
mental and emotional impact on all who went
through it. Divorce or separation was unheard of
in this village.
So the game of ball went on regardless of age
or sex. Once a person going through puberty
regained control of themselves and of their
psyche, it was common for them to once more return
to the game. It was not until one took a wife or
husband that life changed for a game player.
The taking of a wife or husband brought on
adult responsibilities. The young men would be
expected to help provide the village with food,
and the young woman would be expected to help the
village women with community tasks, which could
range anywhere from helping prepare food for
celebrations to sitting down and creating carvings
or other crafts for trading. Everyone worked
together in friendship and in happiness.
That is what was happening on the beach this
day. The never ending, constant game of ball saw
young children come into the game, play, grow and
mature until, at the other end of the adolescent
period they would take up the responsibilities of
an adult.
Guests that stopped by and played would not
see this movement unless they studied it for a
very long time. The game of ball on the beach and
the community fire at night were powerful forces
that kept this village strong. All of it was
designed around the assorted stages of life one
goes through.
And life with one's neighbors was so close
there was lots of help in times of need.
Tim, Tom and Billy decided they had had
enough. They left the game much to the dismay of
the children. All had fun but these young men were
hungry.
When you live by higher law you don't need to
be called for supper. Each recognized they could
manifest whatever they wanted when they wanted, so
the Mothers and cooks and concerned parents were
no longer concerned. They all knew well one would
eat when the time was right. For the boys that
time was now.
