Only Give Gifts From The Heart

STOP! Before you buy another gift, think. What is the
greatest gift you can give? LOVE. Love is wrapping together
respect, time, attention and service. Feeling loved is the
best gift of all. Different people recognize it in different
packages, so, you must be an excellent 'shopper'.
This is a great departure from that old idea that people give
gifts that they most want to receive. That may well be true,
however, let's make gift-giving about the receiver. What
about the folks on your list? What is it that tells them they are
loved and appreciated?
You may have someone on your gift list that lights up when
you do something special for her. When my husband washes
my car or offers to run an errand for me, without fuss or
ingratiation, I feel loved. The perfect gift for a person like me is a
hand-written coupon with a promise. It only works when the
coupon is honoured, of course! That is what makes me feel loved.
How about you?
You may know someone who places a high value on receiving
the perfect item, the one thing that shows you know what he
values. These folks often have a list of preferred gifts. Good thing!
That makes it easier to ensure they will like what you give
them.
Remember, it's not cheating to ask for what you want. In
fact, it can be a very loving gesture. Why not tell the folks you
love what will warm your heart? It gives them a sure way of
demonstrating their love. Of course, this can be abused. At
this time of year, the media is filled with suggestions that
supposedly demonstrate your love. What really does that is
a gift that says, "I know who you are and I was listening."
Have you told her lately that you love her? Lately enough?
Recently on television, I watched a case in Moral Court. The
woman brought her partner there because he would not say "I
love you" often enough. In particular, he would not respond to her
"I love you" with one of his own. His position was that he would
say it when it was appropriate and daily was not it! After
determining that the fellow did in fact love this woman, the
judge ruled in the woman's favor saying that, if he truly loved her,
he would want her to feel loved. Obviously, she needed to hear
that love expressed to feel loved. Most folks like hearing it.
In fact, I'm sure I have never met someone who did not...even
those who blush each time!
Here is another good coupon idea: a massage, a foot rub, or a
back scratch. Maybe, a coupon for a hug and kiss a day for a
year! Great gifts for those who find that physical touch keeps them
feeling connected and feeling loved. Withholding these
expressions of love is often a bid for control that can
destroy a relationship. Remember, too, that the issue is touch
that conveys your caring. Sex is another matter for another
discussion.
In this fast-paced, I-want-it-yesterday world, the one gift
someone on your list may be craving is your time, quality time
together. I am an only child and my parents owned a corner
store. There were always a million things needing their attention.
One day when I was about seven years old, I asked my mother
to do something with me. She gave me her usual answer, "I'm too
busy." I guess I was a forthright child because I distinctly remember
saying to her, "You're always too tired or too busy. Why did
you have me?"
The gift of time can light up a heart. If there is someone on
your list who values your company, plan to do something
special with them. And, during that special time, give them your
undivided attention. Often, when working with couples, I
would hear one accuse the other, "You never spend time with me."
The accused would often reply with, "What do you mean?
We watch television together every night." Wrong. It's not
the just hands on the clock going around while you are
together. It's the attention paid during the passage of time
that counts.
No more 'have-to' or 'should' gifts this year. A gift that
comes from your heart rather than your guilt or pocketbook
requires thought. The gifts that touch hearts say "I know
who you are and I care." Those are the only real gifts.

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
Amalgam or Mercury: A Sense Of Confusion
PART 2 of 9
First I will discuss the body’s reaction to any
intruders and then a bit about mercury itself. Then I
want to share some interesting experiences. I am also
including a partial list of signs and symptoms plus
several phrases from interesting web sites. In the last
segment, I will list some of the links I used for this
article and make some comments. I do have to admit to a
bias. I am now leaning toward no mercury after all I
have learned and personally experienced. Again, please
do not use this information for any class project or
medical opinion. There is too much confusion and lack
of direction. You HAVE to make your own intuitive
decisions. My gut feeling is that these mercury
fillings are not healthy or health promoting.
If you have read a few of my other articles, you will
understand that I promote health, and try to help you
to see how you can do a lot of it yourself…without
chemicals. I also try to get you to think differently.
I want you to ask yourself “what if?”
My purpose here is to help you understand how your body
tries to get rid of any unwanted visitors by having a
defense mechanism called the “inflammatory process”.
This response is automatic. Your body doesn’t want
foreign things in it, and that can include drugs or
chemicals: bone plates or hip replacements or a new
heart.
Scientists have tried very hard to find materials that
don’t set off the natural inflammatory responses of the
body, as in the case of bone prostheses or cataract
implants. Drugs are given to lessen this response, but
in many cases the response happens anyway. This is the
case of heart and kidney transplants when they reject
the new organ. Your teeth are very much part of your
living body. Teeth are special bones and have their own
way of reacting to “intruders”. I just mentioned bone
plates and hip replacement prostheses. Would they set
off this inflammatory response? Yes. If you had a
splinter would it do the same? Yes. Many surgeons
remove bones plates and screws after they feel the body
has healed. Many hip replacement prostheses have to be
left in place, but we all hear about people with sore
hips and arthritis later on. Could this be the body’s
response to an intruder? I honestly believe it is. So
why shouldn’t the mercury react if it goes into a
living body? Decay is a common problem. It is a
symptom of breaking down the protective coatings of
the teeth. If you would like to study this a little
more, research the terms “oxidative stress” or
“oxidation”? Anything that is not natural to your body
will raise this process.
So if this defense process is “activated” it will bring
all sorts of “healing agents” to get rid of any
problems. The most common healing component is extra
fluid and white blood cells.

Mae let them know that any evil thoughts or
thoughts of harming any woman of any age would
result in this pain. Any thoughts of sexual
attention of a woman would result in this pain,
unless the woman was an equal and willing partner.
She well knew that these men usually had their
way with women only by force, that rarely did they
have any consensual relationship with a woman.
They viewed women not only as inferior to them but
as servants to fulfill their every need,
especially sexual needs. This new world they were
living in would change them entirely. They would
be fully useless in any sexual condition unless a
woman controlled the act.
That this could happen to them befuddled them
They truly knew not what they had come up against.
They had gravitated over to their partner and all
three were in pain, acting as children.
Mae dropped her shield. "This will change your
lives forever. Never again will you harm a woman
or use her against her wishes. Know this, that if
you so much as think of a woman without kindness
and loving attention, willing to serve her every
need you will endure this pain. If you remain in
the village you come from you will find yourselves
used by men as you have used the child. You will
be the laughing stock of the village. Using the
child as you did will now cause you to experience
what you caused her to feel. Only by kindness can
you escape." Mae was not angry, neither did her
voice sound it. Yet she spoke in a way these men
had never heard. They heard every word so
thoroughly it was as if they were the sound
themselves. Every fibre of their being knew the
command.
Mae then turned and began to walk away. One of
the men, in anger, started for her. Suddenly he
grabbed himself and was rolling on the ground
screaming and hollering in pain. His two buddies
had problems of their own and were similarly
holding themselves.
The three men would have much to discuss on
their way back to their village. Every time they
would go to force anyone to do anything, or
anytime they got pushy with anyone they would
experience pain. They would be forced, themselves,
to be kind and loving people or experience pain.
That was their choice from now on.
Transferring herself instantaneously, Mae was
now with Susan and Tlang. "Hi you guys. How are
things going?"
"Ah! Good to have you back. I trust things
went well!" Susan had been wondering how Mae was
making out with her mission. Mae had been gone for
nearly two hours.
"Hi Miss Mae. Look at this funny rock." Tlang
held out a rock for Mae.
"All is well Sue. Those men will now be nice
or feel pain. No person, especially children or
women, will come under their meanness again" said
Mae, "Oh Tlang, look at the pretty jagged lines in
this stone. That is gold Tlang. That is a very
precious metal to most people."
Tlang took the rock and looked at it again.
"Does that mean I am rich?"
"It does Tlang, but not in money. You are far
richer because of your heart and mind. You can
have all the gold in the world and be a very poor
person. Most who have gold think they are rich and
walk around feeling they have accomplished all
there is to accomplish. They are not rich Tlang.
They are both foolish and poor, for if they would
follow the small voice within them they would have
everything. This way they have only money and the
burdens that creates. Think on that Tlang. Money
keeps you from enjoying the complete life you can
have when you live by higher law. I am not saying
money is bad or evil. I am saying the love of
money and what it can do is what will keep you
from your Maker's world. So learn not to love
money, but your Maker, even if you must exclude
money, for it is your Maker who will see you have
all you need."
Tlang thought about that for a minute, then
threw the rock away. She walked as if pondering on
what Mae just told her. The mind of a six year old
was an open book upon which could be written the
thoughts that would govern their lives. She,
unwittingly was making choices that would serve
her future.
And so it is with all children. This is the
time when they can be influenced in ways that will
control the rest of their lives even well past the
time when they take charge of their own life.
These are the years when they absorb like sponges
without making too many choices, assuming as they
do that life is like what they see and hear. They
question not at this point.
