You Are What You Think You Are

You are what you think you are. And, what you think you are
is what you will project to the world. Have you ever noticed
that some folks get the "Hey, you" treatment while others get
the "Yes, Ma'am" respect. Why is this? Some folks simply
project confidence, poise and assurance while others do not.
It is often the case that those who present themselves well
are also the most successful.
What is the explanation for this? One word makes the
difference: thinking. Thoughts are things and thinking does
make things so. You may remember Shakespeare's words
"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes
it so." The same is true about how you think of yourself.
You will usually receive the kind of treatment that you think
you deserve. On the other hand, you are responsible for
teaching others how to treat you. If you think you are not
good enough, you will project this and allow others to treat
you in disrespectful ways. You may resent it. It may make
you angry, however, you allow it because you may think you
deserve it at some level.
Why not do this differently? Step out with your best self in
mind. Know that you are important. If you were not here,
there would be an empty space. Take your place. Take up your
space and know that you deserve love, respect, attention and
acceptance just because you breathe. Of course, if you
persist in doing things that teach others that this is not so,
you cannot be surprised if they have a different perception of
you, can you?
How you think determines how you act. How you act in turn
determines how others react to you. It is a simple formula.
Look where it starts, though. It starts with how you think.
To gain the respect of others, you must first think you
deserve respect. The more respect you have for yourself, the
more respect others will have for you.
Self-respect is demonstrated by everything you do. Dress well.
Your appearance broadcasts how you feel about yourself. Lift
your spirits by taking time to look good. No matter how many
casual Fridays the work world allows, be sure that you dress
in a way that keeps your mind and attitude "thinking sharp".
Why do you think the armed services pay so much attention to
the details of dressing? Stay sharp.
Your appearance talks to you and it talks to others. You know
the line: You never get a second chance to make a first
impression. First impressions last far longer than it takes
to make one! Start your day with a good impression of
yourself. You are what you think you are. What are you
projecting?
Remember: what you pay attention to expands!

Computer Freezing
Using standby mode, is supposed to save energy when your PC
is unattended, and help your Monitor last longer.
How valuable this function is, I don't know.
However, this facility can cause problems, because sometimes
when you try to bring back your 'normal' screen you find
your PC is frozen. No mouse, no alt/ctrl/delete function .
If this has happened to you, the answer is to disable the
standby mode. Like this.
RIGHT Click on a blank area of your desktop.
LEFT Click on
Properties then on Screen saver then on Settings or power.
Check everything in there to 'Never.'
Click OK and OK again.

took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

"Maz and I live in a small village in South
America, on the Amazon river. Did you ever hear of
the trip I took with David Wiley?"
"Yes. Folks around here speak as if that was
the craziest thing they ever heard of. They
wondered if you had gone with a stash of money or
something, what with all that trouble with Mr.
Wiley."
Eloise laughed. "No, Sharon, no money. In fact
when we arrived at our destination they took all
the money we had, except for some I stashed where
they couldn't find it. They took our
identification and didn't let us know where we
were. All they left us with were a couple one man
tents and three days food."
"Wow! That must have been scary!"
"It was, at first. But I soon learned that
what my Dad taught me about going inside and
listening to what I was being told was the right
advice. I soon learned that I could go inside and
be told all the things I had to look out for. It
was like being forewarned. I was shown how to
survive, how to get food, how to build a shelter,
all the things I needed to survive. Then I was
shown how to live by higher law. From that time to
this I have lived that way. So does my family and
my husband."
"What is this higher law. Tim was telling me
about it. Is that how you can manifest food like
we had tonight?" With the appearance and
explanation Eloise gave, Sharon found herself more
ready to believe. Eloise was closer to her age and
at least in the same generation. Here was Tim,
Tom, Billy, and now Eloise all of whom could do
the things she had seen with her own eyes.
Caution and wariness was giving way to
curiosity, intrigue and speculation. It was
becoming clear to her these people were ordinary
people who had simply learned a way of life others
had not. She reasoned in her mind that coming here
was essentially no different than if she had come
to visit a family in China, India, Malaysia. All
had different customs and ways of doing things but
were still people with the same needs and desires
as people all over the world.
"That's right, Sharon. We are all just people.
The only thing that may make us different than you
is that we have found a way to live by what we
call higher law. All men can do it. We made the
choice. You can too, if you want." These were
thoughts that came into her mind from outside. She
recognized the source as being Tim. She turned to
look at him, straight in the eyes. He smiled and
nodded to her that she was right, he was the
source of those thoughts.
By now Sharon was gaining a great deal of
interest. She had not ever been exposed to this
kind of life and living before. She looked around.
Sam and Alewka were ordinary folks, just like her
parents. They had an ordinary family just like she
and her brothers and sister. They lived ordinary
lives in Pinehill, just like everyone else. All
that was not ordinary about them was that they
could do this higher law stuff. She was starting
to think that maybe others could do it. Maybe she
should look into it further.
The phone rang. Sam got up to answer it.
"Hello! Oh hi Ben. No, we're not up to much. Sure
come on over. We'll have a coffee."
Others in the front room could hear the
conversation so there was no need for Sam to
repeat it.
Even before Sam sat down in his chair Ben and
Helen stood in the front room. "Hi folks. I
thought we might get here before the old man had a
chance to sit down." Ben laughed. Everyone joined
in. It was one of those private jokes where you
had to be there to appreciate it.
Sharon had never seen such actions before.
Now, here was the former police chief appearing
out of nowhere. Did he live by higher law as well?
"Yes Sharon, I do. So does my wife Helen."
were the thoughts that came into her mind. She
looked at Ben Striker. He smiled.
Sharon had never met the Strikers before. How
had Mr. Striker known her name? When did he learn
to live by higher law? How many others in town did
this as well? Before she knew it she had these
thoughts come into her mind: "I know your name
because that is how you think of yourself. I
learned higher law at a wedding I went to in South
America a couple months back and Jim and Hilda
White, the former minister at a church near you
also live by these laws, just as you can if you so
decide."
