TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------

What famous poet said: "No man is an island"?

Are scientists still discovering new animals?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

How much would it cost to buy an island?

Just like home prices, island prices vary widely depending
on size, location, and a number of other factors. But you
don't have to be a millionaire or billionaire to buy one.
According to privateislandsonline.com, "if you can afford a
reasonably priced cottage, you've got what it takes to
afford an island." The site says that tropical islands are,
indeed, generally expensive. But you can buy a nice island
in a northern clime, like Canada, for much less than a
million dollars.

Could I rent an island?

Yes, islands are for rent, too.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!

In a study that was done by the University of Chicago in
1907, it was concluded that the easiest color to spot is
yellow. This is why John Hertz, who is the founder of the
Yellow Cab Company picked cabs to be yellow.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------

Get your Word At The Right Place!

Mr. Norton was in the hospital recovering from an operation
when the nurse on duty received a call from a man who asked
how Mr. Norton was doing.

"Oh, quite well. We expect he'll be released in the
morning."

"Very good, thank you."

"May I ask who is calling so that I can tell Mr. Norton?"
inquired the nurse.

"This IS Mr. Norton. The doctors don't tell me a darn
thing."

Been there. Done that. Right?

How many times do we come up against people who think they
know more than us and maintain an attitude of superiority by
withholding information? Or how many times do we listen to
someone who tells us the noise in our car means a
transmission is going when it was only something loose under
the hood? Or how many times do we go to the wrong person,
group or "authority", only to find we have been to the wrong
place?

It seems a common human trait. We are that busy just trying
to live, these days, that we seldom question hard enough the
ones who are giving us information.

Ask, think, look. It is your life and surely you want the
most from it. Look, in places less obvious than that in
front of your face. Look under rocks, behind walls, in
places you would not normally look.

I have found the most startling information just by taking
one more step. Valuable information has fallen into my hands
only because I asked one more question, or looked one more
place, or opened a door I would not have normally opened.

Spiritual information is like that. It is always kept in
plain sight, often disguised as information you wouldn't be
interested in. It is always available to the true disciple
who genuinely wants the truth.

So often we follow, as lemmings, the teachings of the church
and get confused between truth and policy. Too many times we
are taught that if you want the answer to a spiritual
question the place to go is the church.

Too often we overlook the truth that when we learn to go
inside the answers are there. In fact, to the real student
of spirituality, one gets to the place where no more
information from outside will answer questions. You get to
the place where only that which comes from inside is truth.

Think on that for a while.

For those of you who question why does this author always
talk about going inside, then let me once more tell you that
when you do long enough and often enough and with loving
intent, then you find the real you. You find your real
Maker. You have real communication with your Maker. You get
real answers. You then live by higher law and encounter more
peace, joy, and prosperity than you can in any other way.
Go.

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson

The Relationship of Oral Health to Overall
Health and Longevity
by Tom McGuire, D.D.S.
PART 16 of 31

This landmark study is important because both
osteoporosis and periodontal disease are serious public
health concerns for tens of millions of North
Americans. Osteoporosis affects more than 20 million
people in the U.S. and accounts for nearly 2 million
fractures a year.

Gastrointestinal Disorders To date, the most
significant relationship between dental disease and
gastrointestinal disorders is from tooth loss. The
edentulous (without teeth) patient, is the most
vulnerable to gastrointestinal and other related
problems.

However, one study showed that those with dentures are
also subject to numerous health problems, directly
related to their inability to properly chew their food.
This study concluded that most of the subjects showed a
low chewing (masticatory) performance classification.
These subjects took more medication for
gastrointestinal disorders than those with a higher
chewing performance. Poor chewing was also associated
with a decrease in vitamin A and fiber intake, which
was mainly the result of lower intakes of fruits and
vegetables. This condition seemed more likely to affect
women in the study. In the edentulous person, with a
deficient chewing performance, reduced consumption of
fiber-rich foods that are hard to chew could provoke
gastrointestinal disturbances and affect overall
health.

Research indicates that changes in food preferences and
subsequent nutrient/vitamin deficiencies are associated
with tooth loss. One study provided a sound basis for
why the denture wearer does not achieve the necessary
breakdown of food substances. The research indicated
that the chewing efficiency of those wearing dentures
was about one-sixth that of a person with natural
teeth. In addition, evidence suggests that nutritional
deficiencies, regardless of their cause, are associated
with impaired immune responses. One obvious conclusion
is that a person with dentures would need to chew his
or her food 6 times as long as a person with natural
teeth.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------

"Sam, I know you don't like me because I have
been selfish, uncaring and a real problem to you.
However, I think I changed when I found you and
your family were the only ones to come to my
rescue during that explosion. No one else came and
you had least reason to come than anyone. That
surprised me into some new thinking. I promise I
will never again treat you as I have in the past.
As a matter of fact, I no longer treat anyone that
way. Thanks to Tim. Yes, I would appreciate it if
you would send Tim the message."

Sam looked at him long and hard. Ted Kuzik
felt uneasy. It was as if Sam was looking at his
soul to see if he were telling the truth. Ted had
never been subjected to such a severe inspection.

"Okay, Ted. I will let him know. Would you like
some cake? Some coffee, or maybe a stronger
drink?"

Sam sent the message unto Tim.

Tim and Sharon had only been on their
honeymoon for two days, but when they received Sam
Henry's message, they decided to return to
the Henry cabin for a short visit just to check in
and to see Ted Kuzik. In the flash of an eye they
were there.

Ted was just sipping a coffee when he saw them
materialize right in front of him.

He was startled and moved back, not knowing
exactly what was happening.

"Hello, Ted. How are you? It's good to see you
again. What brings you here today?"

"My gosh! You surprised me. How did you get
here so fast? Your Dad and I were just talking
about you."

"And you asked Dad to send me a message didn't
you?"

"Y ... yes, but I thought that would take a
long time. Wow! You move fast."

"Ted, I'd like you to meet my wife, Sharon. We
were married here on Saturday."

"Yes, I heard you were getting married. That's
why I came. Hello Sharon. It is nice to meet you.
You certainly picked a good one when you picked
this guy. He saved my life when the town blew up,
or did he tell you?"

"Hello, Mr. Kuzik. No he didn't tell me. He
doesn't tell me much, you know. Hi Mom, Dad."

After Sharon had shaken Ted Kuzik's hand she
walked up to her parents and gave them a hug. Then
she walked over to Sam and Alewka Henry and gave
them a hug. "Hi, Mom and Dad, here too."

Then she did something that surprised the odd,
silent guest. She walked up to Mildred Johnstone
and hugged her. "Hi Mildred. Its good to see you,
and yes you can and will live by higher law. Tim
and I will help as much as we can.

Mildred nearly collapsed. How much did these
people know, anyway? How could Tim and Sharon know
what was going on? She looked at Tim and he
winked. He knew too. Mildred decided she best sit
for a bit.

"Mr. Kuzik. You said you wanted to see us?"

"Yes. I am sorry to miss your wedding. I was
called away. Tim, congratulations." He,
uncharacteristically gave Tim a hug. Tim returned
it and didn't let Ted go. He was broadcasting love
into him and he felt Ted soak up all he could get.
When Tim let go Ted walked over to Sharon and
extended his hand, politely, once more,
"Congratulations, Mrs. Henry."

Sharon did not take his hand. She put her arms
around him and broadcast love unto him as Tim had
done. Again Ted Kuzik absorbed it all as if he
was starved.

Ted knew he had to be on his best manners with
these people. Hugging Sharon he would have liked
to hold her, lustfully, but he kept his feelings
in check. When she had finished her hug, she
stepped back. Ted felt as full and complete as he
had ever felt in his life. For the first time he
felt loved. It nearly made him cry. Certainly
tears were in his eyes. For a while, he couldn't
speak.

Mildred, too, felt this way. She knew exactly
what Ted was going through. Sam finely broke the
reverie. "How's about a drink to celebrate?"
Instantly he had a tray in his hand and on
the tray there were eight champagne glasses,
full.

He served them up to each person.

"A toast" said Ted Kuzik, now recovered, "to
the newlyweds." He raised his glass and they
toasted Tim and Sharon.

"Another toast, to the greatest family I know,
the Henrys." Ted once more raised his glass and
they all toasted the Henrys."
