What good is translucent concrete?
How do they make the concrete translucent?
--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Do we still use the Julian calendar?
The Julian calendar went into effect in 45 BC and became the
calender most countries in Europe used for the next 1600
years. In 1582, Pope Gregory made further reforms. A few
countries continued to use the Julian calendar even longer.
Russia continued to use it until 1917 and China until 1949.
The Eastern Orthodox church still adheres to the Julian
calendar.
Is it true that they've invented a type of concrete you can
see through?
Yes. A new type of concrete that is translucent has been
developed. It's not clear like glass, but allows light to
penetrate it, so that the shadow of a person standing in
front on it can be seen from the other side.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------
Call It! It's Yours!
My wife and I took a long walk last fall. We do it nearly
every day. I couldn't help but notice the beauty that is
fall.
The leaves were all sorts of reds, golds, browns, greens and
all phases of color in between. The grasses had gone to seed
and done their work for the summer.
The crows were flocking and getting ready to leave as were
the ducks and geese. Just as we were passing by a stand of
aspen the sound of geese caught our ear so we stopped to
see.
Sure enough, just above the treetops a flock of geese,
already in their V formation, were coming off a field
beyond. They were lifting into the air, the leader already
higher than those behind, and the entire picture was set
against a golden red sky of sunset.
The sight was so beautiful it took my breath away.
As we returned home we took a different route and came by
the lake. About two houses from ours we ran into a Mother
moose and two young. I should judge by the size they would
be yearlings. We stopped to watch. They knew we were there
and went on eating the grasses and greenery at the edge of
the water, then, as if on signal, they all walked into the
water and began to swim to an island a hundred yards away.
Again, the beauty of the whole event had us speechless.
My mind went to my brother-in-law. He lives his life
somewhat different. He describes his world in negative terms
and all things, though interesting, he sees a negative in
them.
He doesn't go for walks like we do, When we persuade him on
his occasional visit, we always hear how cold it is. Had he
seen the geese his remark would have been how smart they
were to be leaving this country. Had he seen the moose he
would have spoken of how stupid the animal was to stay
around here, maybe they couldn't make it in the wild. (I
don't know what he would have thought they would eat
different in the wild, for certainly no one around here
feeds them.)
When I stop to look at the general overall lifestyle my wife
and I, as compared to he and his wife, the differences are
telling.
My wife and I see a doctor once every two or three years for
check ups, only because somehow my wife is persuaded it is a
good idea. They are at the doctors once or twice a month,
often weekly, and to assorted specialists like dentists,
optometrists, or others, as often.
We like the outdoors. They rarely go out. We get lots of
exercise. They lie on the floor and lift their leg up in the
air once or twice and call that exercise.
We have a medicine chest that has lots of room for stuff.
They have two medicine chests full, and need a third. When
they go on trips the first stop is to the doctor and then to
the pharmacist.
We get into a discussions once in a while about how attitude
can affect ones health. The very idea, in his eyes, is
preposterous.
Yet, the law is ...

In addition, the current that is generated in this
process is thought to interfere with energy flow along
acupuncture meridians. The belief is that the resultant
current blockage can eventually affect the organs along
the corresponding acupuncture meridian. Anyone who is
utilizing acupuncture as part of their treatment regime
should consider them. I also believe that Menieres
suffers should consider this effect as a potential
symptom trigger.
Root Canals The idea that a root canal can cause health
problems is not new. In the 1930s and 40s, Dr. Weston
Price dealt with this subject in two classic books,
Dental Infections-Oral and Systemic, Volume I, and
Dental Infections and the Degenerative Diseases. The
subject of root canals and their relation to general
health is also thoroughly examined in Dr. George
Meinings book, Root Canal Cover-up.
This concept is called the focal infection theory. It
is based on the fact that traditional root canal
therapy cannot guarantee that the tooths root canal,
and the thousands of tubules that radiate out from the
canal, can always be effectively sterilized by root
canal treatment. The theory proposes that an infection
existing in one part of the body (in this case the root
canal and chamber) can be transferred, via the
circulatory system, to other parts of the body, where
they can initiate an entirely new infection. It is
believed that such an infection, resulting from an
infected root canal, can migrate and infect the
kidneys, the heart, intestines, and other sites. Some
researchers claim that health problems resulting from
root canals rank in severity right behind
mercury/amalgam fillings.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"I was listening to what you told that
newsman, Mr. Henry. Is that right? All the stuff
you told him?"
"Mildred, it is for every person to seek out
the truth and believe what they want. Those with
courage want the real answers. Yes it is true but
you will have to go inside yourself to speak with
your Maker to have it confirmed. It is only what
you get from inside that is true. Your Maker will
keep you on the right track if you so permit.
Daily meditations will help you know what you must
know."
"Mr. Henry, what you told Mr. Kuzik, that is
almost opposite to what most men think."
"Yes, Mildred. Man is prone to sidestepping
truth where it means he has to be responsible.
That is true of all men. It takes courage to get
it right. Man thinks he is brave because he is
willing to die for a cause. That takes no courage
at all compared to the courage it takes to look at
truth and live. To die is a blessing. To live
takes guts. To see the truth of your Maker takes
more courage than most men are willing to muster.
It means they are responsible for their own lives
and that they don't like. It is far easier for man
to blame some God somewhere for his troubles and
then mush through life saying "Oh well things will
be better when I die. If I go through this now I
will be rewarded later." Ignorance of the law is
no excuse. The law still applies."
"It sounds so hard, Mr. Henry."
"Until you live by higher law and come to a
complete understanding of that truth and the
benefits and joys thereof it does sound hard. Yet,
Mildred did not grade ten seem hard when you were
in grade six?"
"You mean as I grow and learn higher law and
look at things through my Maker's eyes it gets
easier?"
"Yes, Mildred. And you don't have to proceed
very far to find that out. All it takes is a
willingness to look, see, and do."
"I will do that Mr. Henry. I will come to see
you if I need help. I must be on my way now. Thank
you all for such a wonderful wedding."
Mildred was off.
"Sam, that was quite a wedding. It was even
the more so because of Ted Kuzik coming. I was
glad to see Tim and Sharon again so soon, yet it
was all that stuff you were saying to Ted that
shook me up. This has been quite a weekend for me,
and, I think, Harriett. We have seen much we must
think over."
"How about you, Harriett? Is Bob right?"
"Sam, I wanted to argue and fight over the
things you did. Now my daughter is doing it and so
does every one of those guests you had here that
had to go to that earthquake. Personally I don't
know what to think. I'm all shook up. I know what
I saw and I cannot deny that. I saw Bob walking on
water. I saw Jesus right here at the wedding. I
have seen your guests and Tim and Sharon come and
go. I know what you are doing is right but I don't
understand it."
"Anytime you decide you do want to understand
it, Harriett, give Alewka and I a call. Or speak
with Tim and Sharon. It took a lot of courage for
Sharon to move out of your house and to seek out
higher law, yet look at her now. Would you want to
take that away from her?"
"No, Sam, of course not. You are right, it
took a lot of courage for her to do that. Now she
can have all and anything she wants. She will
never again have to worry about money, or fear
authority, or have any fears of any kind. She is
free. I envy her."
"Just remember, Harriett, you can have the
same thing. I'm not selling, Harriett. I just want
you to keep that in mind."
"I will Sam." Harriett came over to Sam and
hugged him. Then she went to Alewka and hugged
her.
Bob did the same. "I guess it's time for us to
leave. It's been a very long weekend."
Saying their good byes, the Smithsons walked
to their vehicle and drove off. They headed home.
With a wave of her hand Alewka had all the
mess cleaned up and all things put away again
where they were supposed to be. "Well, honey! That
was some weekend. We married off another of our
children and by the looks in Tom's eyes and in
Tlang's it looks like the next one will be having
similar thoughts."
"It looks that way, doesn't it. Let's sit and
have a coffee, just the two of us."
With that Sam and Alewka sat and sipped on
their favorite coffee.

HA! HA! HA!
A property manager of single-family residence was showing a
unit to prospective tenants and asking the usual questions.
"Professionally employed?" he asked.
"We're a military family," the wife answered.
"Children?"
"Oh, yes, ages nine and twelve," she answered proudly.
"Animals?"
"Oh, no," she said earnestly. "They're very well behaved."
