TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------

Where does the term "pulp fiction" come from?

What does it mean "to take pot luck"?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

Where in the world can you pay a premium to eat poison fish?

Want to pay hundreds of dollars for the chance to eat a
deadly fish? So deadly that sometimes diners DIE when they
eat it? Then go to Japan, where the fugu dish is a delicacy.
Fugu, also known as the Japanese puffer fish (since it blows
its body up to scare away predators), contains deadly poison
in its organs. But it's apparently delicious (or maybe some
people just like to risk it all). Properly prepared, fugu
provides a slight high and sends a tingling sensation
throughout the body. The fish is so poisonous that only
licensed cooks are permitted to prepare it. The goal, of
course, it to keep customer deaths to a minimum.

What is the origin of the phrase "red-letter day"?

"Red-letter day" dates back to the Middle Ages, when the
Christian calendar designated feast, saint, and holy days in
red ink. All other days were in black. Now, of course, a
red-letter day is any day that is fortunate.

Apple Bucks Tech Selloff
by Troy Wolverton TheStreet.com Staff Reporter

Shares of Apple Computer (AAPL:Nasdaq - commentary -
research) set an all-time high on Friday following a
disappointing report from Dell (DELL:Nasdaq - commentary -
research) and amid rumors about a major new partnership.

According to market chatter, Apple is set to announce a deal
with Google (GOOG:Nasdaq - commentary - research) calling
for Google to offer Apple's iTunes music store through its
own site. The rumored deal would pair the nation's leading
online music store with its leading search engine.

There's "speculation of an iTunes launch," says Paul Foster,
an options strategist at Theflyonthewall.com. "Google is
going to offer iTunes somehow on their platform," according
to the rumor, he says.

Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said the company doesn't
comment on "rumors and speculation." A Google representative
did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Meanwhile, Apple's shares might well have benefited from
Dell's pain. The computer giant missed Wall Street's revenue
targets for its just-completed quarter by $300 million and
cautioned analysts that they needed to bring down their
revenue targets for its current quarter.

Dell's stumble is in contrast to Apple, which has seen its
computer sales and share in the PC market surge in recent
quarters.

"Some investors seem be rotating out of Dell into Apple,"
says Foster. "Investors kind of have the attitude that
Dell's weakness is Apple's strength."

Shares of Apple closed regular trading up $2.10, or 4.8%, on
Friday to $46.10. The company's shares traded up as much as
$2.22, or 5%, intraday. Volume totaled nearly 33 million
shares, well above its three-month norm of 18.6 million
shares.

The Relationship of Oral Health to Overall
Health and Longevity
by Tom McGuire, D.D.S.
PART 29 of 31

Dr. Rozen cited one study that showed people with
gingivitis and periodontitis have a 23% to 46% higher
mortality rate. Another study indicated that men under
age 50, who have advanced periodontal disease, are 2.6
times more likely to die prematurely and three times
more likely to die from heart disease than those who
have healthy teeth and gums. Both studies considered
other pertinent factors, such as smoking, alcohol, and
overeating. Studies have also shown that a bacterial
strain commonly found in tooth plaque has also been
found in the fatty deposits that clog arteries. Other
studies demonstrate that periodontal disease increases
the white blood cell count, an indicator that the
immune system is under increased stress.

Dr. Roizen concluded that dental disease and tooth loss
doesn’t just make you look older, they actually make
you older. Indeed, periodontal disease can make our
Real Age more than 3.4 years older. Conversely, the
absence of periodontal diseases makes you 6.4 years
younger than the median person.

As a person concerned about your health it is your
responsibility to do all you can to not only extend
your life but to also improve its quality. This has to
extent to considering the effect of your oral health on
your overall health.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

One of the real benefits of living by higher
law is it brings man into control and gives him
the authority he needs to get right things done.
He develops an understanding of his Maker's laws
and uses them to the benefit of mankind. In so
doing he has all he needs and wants at his
command. It is the matter of losing one's life in
order to have life. It is when man exercises that
degree of self control that he puts his life and
all he wants on the back burner in favor of giving
to his fellow man. In the practice of the law lies
the rewards. And how he practices the law is how
judgment is pronounced upon him. It is a function
of law and man is the both the writer and the
judge of his own life. It is in the law.

Man finds that hard to understand and most men
will want to fight the idea. That will be
especially true of the emotional church goer who
wants things to be as the church has said.

On the beach the day was sunny. Tim and Sharon
had seen no man activity on the river for days
now. There was only that trading group that passed
by the day they finally came out of their hut. Yet
a trading trip on this river takes days. The group
that went down river may not be back this way on
their way home, for another three weeks.

The couple was playing a game on the beach. It
was a touching, physical game and just as one
might predict it ended in lovemaking. Such is the
way of man. When there is little to do but enjoy
nature it is common to enjoy all of nature, and
that includes the reproductive act.

Now they were lying on the beach, both naked
to the world. There were no other people around
for miles. All peoples who knew of this place
avoided it out of respect for honeymooners who
used it.

The honeymoon hut had become known as a very
special place and none wanted to endanger the
enchantment of the place. All wanted to leave it
for honeymooners.

Even those who lived by higher law would send
word of an impending visit, rather than just drop
in unannounced. All knew what a special time this
was in the lives of newlyweds.

Another incident happened that day. A tapir,
wounded from a fight with another animal, likely
higher up the food chain, had wandered into camp.
It was almost as if it knew this was a place to
become whole again. Whatever the fight was the
tapir was ripped open pretty bad, from left front
shoulder all the way down to its brisket. There
had been a lot of blood. The tapir would
ordinarily be able to handle wounds like this but
for the size of the wound. Blood poisoning had set
in and the animal was limping from the pain the
infection produced.

Sharon, always the soft hearted one, went to
it immediately. The animal never balked or showed
any fear. It hurt too much.

One look and Sharon knew what she had to do.
She concentrated her energies and facing the
tapir, palms outstretched, sent a beam of energy
toward the tapir. In seconds the tapir was whole
once more.

In its renewed life it ran, skipped and jumped
all over the beach like it were a newborn
rejoicing in life.

Sharon smiled, as did Tim. He had been
watching her and fell in love with her all over
again when he saw the softness and compassion
within her. He walked up to her and put his arm
around her shoulder. He leaned in and gave her a
kiss on the cheek. "I love you," he whispered. She
leaned into him.

The tapir saw no more reason for remaining, so
it left. Yet it well knew this was a safe place
and it would come back here again, often.

The day progressed without further incident,
although the pair of them were again turning red
from over exposure. Sharon saw that, too, and took
the necessary measures to fix that up.

They dressed, manifested some champagne and
sat underneath the "porch roof" Tim had erected in
front of the hut. He had attached one end to the
hut and the other was supported by poles. It
covered an area of about 12 feet by 12 feet (3.6M
x 3.6M). It was solid and Tim had put some higher
law protection around it to keep it safe, with the
hut.

He had then gathered some supple poles and
palm fronds. With that material he had fashioned
two chairs on which to sit. Imposing higher law
ideas upon the chairs they became not only strong
but amazingly comfortable.

The fire pit was at the outer fringe of the
roof. It was under just enough that it would not
get wet if rain was falling straight down.
