TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -

What Greek playwright is said to have died from a skull
fracture when an eagle dropped a tortoise on his bald head?

Why do earthworms come up out of the ground when it rains?

ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

What famous Pre-Raphaelite painter and poet had his wife's
body exhumed to retrieve a manuscript?

Sometimes, in the intense grief following a death, the
mourner buries something valuable with the loved one that he
later wishes he hadn't buried. Apparently, that's what
happened to Dante Gabriel Rossetti. When his beloved wife
Elizabeth died in 1862, he buried the only manuscript of a
book of poems he had been working on with her body. Seven
years later, in 1869, Dante decided to have Elizabeth
disinterred to retrieve the manuscript. The poems were later
revised and published along with other new verses.

What famous fairy tale writer was mortified when he met the
Grimm Brothers and found they had never heard of him?

Hans Christian Andersen, already a famous fairy tale writer
in Denmark in 1844, thought he'd drop in on the equally
famous fairy tale collectors, Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm, while
he was visiting Germany. He left the Grimms in
embarrassment, however, upon discovering that the brothers
had never heard of him. Several weeks later, Jakob visited
Andersen in Denmark, having become acquainted with his work.
From then on, Andersen and the Grimms were friends.

Windows users fall victim to huge ID theft ring, 50 banks in
danger; Apple Mac users unaffected

"Thousands of computer users have been caught out by a huge
ID theft ring. Security firm Sunbelt Software said it
stumbled across a US-based server storing megabytes of data
stolen from compromised computers while researching spyware
infections. The server held passwords for online accounts
from 50 banks, Ebay and Paypal logins, hundreds of credit
card numbers and reams of personal data. The FBI has
reportedly now started investigating the ring of ID
thieves," Mark Ward reports for BBC News.

"The bug that has stolen all the data is thought to be a
variant of a family of trojans known as Dumaru or Nibu that
exploit a vulnerability in Microsoft's Internet Explorer
browser. The trojan, a malicious piece of code,
automatically downloaded itself on computers when people
visited sites harbouring the program. What made this bug so
effective was its ability to grab text stored on the
clipboard and by Internet Explorer, said Eric Sites, vice
president of research and development at Sunbelt Software,"
Ward reports.

"Sunbelt believes the trojan has been circulating for about
three weeks and in that time has probably infected thousands
of victims. The vulnerability it exploits means that all a
user has to do to fall victim is to visit the wrong site.
'Type in a web link and your machine is infected,' said Mr
Sites. 'You do not have to click on anything, the website
forces the installation.' Many victims may have no idea that
they have been infected," Ward reports.

Your Immune System: Delicate Yet Critical
How It Serves You And Why You Need To Keep It Healthy
PART 1 of 12

Why a carrot is good and a milk chocolate bar is not...

In the following information, I want to describe what the
Immune System is and how it works. Then I'll mention some
situations that can overload it and cause it to be less than
protective and productive. I'll show how it can be brought
back to function adequately. Lastly, I want to show you how
to keep it healthy. As usual this information is for
educational purposes only. If you think of something that
might be happening to you, please check with your doctor or
other health care professional.

Don't diagnose and treat yourself. But do take the time to
read and research. I am including several professional and
trustworthy links for just that purpose. I write these
articles so you can have an intelligent conversation with
your doctor. Not that you are not intelligent, but that you
can ask the right questions and understand the conversation
in a more productive way. If you pay close attention you
will realize that rarely does anyone ever discuss what a
healthy body actually is or needs to stay that way. We take
it for granted that somehow...magically, things appear that
keeps your body in good working order.

I wonder what went through your mind as you read title. Did
this catch your attention? Or are you like I was a few years
ago...thinking this is NOT for me. This is only for
academics and health fanatics. This topic had no interest
for me. I felt I didn't need to know it and didn't want to
spend any time understanding it. It just didn't SEEM to
relate to anything in my life. If someone mentioned "immune
system" or "vitamins" or taking something other than Vitamin
C to protect myself when I had a cold, I had absolutely no
interest.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.

"I would, Sam, and I will do it, but not at
this time. Abetta and I have tasks we want to do,
first."

"That's cool. I just thought I would ask. I
didn't get much chance to speak with Romano and
Oomano at the wedding, how are they doing?"

"They're fine, Sam. The kids are growing like
weeds and she has her hands full. They must be
looking after near 20 kids now. She has it easier
than we did. All the while we were doing that we
did not live by higher law. Thank goodness Oomano
does, Romano, too. Between the pair of them they
command the children's love and respect. They take
the kids everywhere. I'm surprised they didn't
bring some to the wedding. They want the kids to
have as broad an education as they can, plus there
are daily lessons in the higher laws. As you know,
children must learn to handle selfishness. It is
the one thing that gets in the way of their
progress. Once they get a handle on that they
learn quickly."

"You and Abetta really started something with
your girls, Miguele."

"It was not I, Sam Henry. It was that daughter
of yours. Eloise placed us unwittingly in a
position where we could help. We were just so
thankful for our new found condition that we
really wanted to share it with those who had
nothing, and street kids, lost and lonely, seemed
a good place to start. It was Eloise who, by
working with our girls, changed the whole scene
around. If she had not correctly read the
situation that fateful night when I tried to rob
her, none of this would have happened. It is that
daughter of yours Sam Henry. Many owe much to
her."

"As you now know, they don't really. She was
only doing what her Maker told her to do. So were
you and so do the rest of us. It is a wonderful
thing when we do that. It is fulfilling. But I
need not tell you that."

"How are Missy and the children?"

"They're fine, Miguele. They just lost
Midnight, the big cat. Everyone at the village is
pretty sad over that. Midnight spent years with
them. The village loved that cat very much. The
children used to play with her and she would treat
them like they were her kits. It affected Eloise,
David and Boolanga rather hard. Midnight was
special to them."

"I knew that was happening. We have a soft
spot in our hearts for Missy. We know when she
hurts. I am sorry about Midnight. She was a
wonderful thing for that village and she will be
sorely missed."

"Hey, you guys. You're just like all men. You
come to visit and then go away to talk men things.
Why don't you stay and visit with us, too?"

"Oh, yeah! Here we go Miguele. We were
visiting until you and Abetta got into your little
conclave about kids, cooking and the like. Give us
a break. That's just the way people are like." Sam
walked up to Alewka and gave her a gentle poke in
the ribs. She knew it was coming. It was a
familiar pattern. She jumped anyway, that too was
part of the pattern.

"It is lunch time. What would you folks like
for lunch?"

"Abetta, surprise us."

"Do you like hot food, Sam? Alewka?"

"We both really like it Abetta. Anything at
all you have in mind."

With that all four of them moved to the dining
room table and by the time they arrived there was
already four plates of steaming hot spicy food
waiting. It was a combination vegetable plate with
some spiced up hot meat on the side, plus the ever
present refried beans. All in all it was a
terrific meal, most satisfying.

"I think Miguele and I are going to go down to
the shrine after lunch. Would you ladies like to
come with us?"

Alewka and Abetta looked at one another and in
a meeting of minds made the decision to stay here
and talk. "No, Sam. I think we'll just stay here
and talk about lady things. Thanks for asking. You
go ahead."

Just at that moment there were noises outside.
They were produced by children and soon the noise
was also inside. Oomano and Romano had come
over with some of the children.

"Oh, hi!" Oomano said when she spotted Sam and
Alewka. She ran up to each of them and gave them a
big hug and a kiss. "What are you guys doing here?
It is so nice to see you. That was a wonderful
wedding for Tim and Sharon. Thanks for having us.
We really enjoyed it."

Romano, likewise enthusiastic, came and hugged
both Sam and Alewka. He, too, was happy to see
them here. "You folks just here for a visit or
what?"

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

D-Day. What's the origin of the term "D-Day"?

The "D" in "D-Day" just stands for "day" - any given day -
although it is now generally used to refer to the day Allied
troops invaded France in World War II - June 6, 1944. In
order not to divulge the designated day of a military
operation it was never written as a definite date but only
as "D"; the hour was designated as "H". Other related days
and hours were designated as "D+" or "D-" and "H+" and "H-".

Tomorrow: Easy as A.B.C. Why do we say that something
easy is "as easy as A.B.C."?

HA! HA! HA!

While on vacation with my son and his family, I shared a
room with my 4 year old granddaughter.

One morning when she awoke, she told me she had some nice
dreams and proceeded to tell me about them.

I told her I wished that I was able to dream like she does.

She said, "But you can't, grandma, because you snore too
much."
