What organ gradually diminishes in size throughout a
person's life?
What British warrior queen successfully defended her people

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------
Can a fetus in the womb hear?
Yes. Research has shown that fetuses respond to various
sounds just as vigorously as they respond to pressure and
internal sensations. The ability to hear is well developed
in the fetus by the beginning of the third trimester. The
fetus can hear his mother's voice (and recognize it by the
time he's born), the voices of others, and even music.
Whether playing music or reading to the fetus will make the
baby a lover of the arts is controversial.
Who invented the Apgar score (and what is it)?
Virginia Apgar, MD, was the first US woman to become a
certified anesthesiologist and the first woman to become a
full professor at Columbia University. But she is most
remembered for devising the Apgar score, a prognosis of a
newborn baby's psychocognitive development using the
criteria of Appearance, Pulse, Grimace, Activity, and
Respiration (and you thought she named it after herself!).
Dr. Apgar developed this score in 1962 and it is now an
indispensable and widely used perinatal tool. The US post
office honored her with a stamp as part of its "Great
Americans" series in 1994.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------
They Settle For Scraps!
I sit in front of my office window and look out in awe and
amazement at the bird feeder. It amuses me much.
We, of course, put out feed for the birds. They have come to
know when and how I do it and they know to "stick around"
when they see me because I have goodies.
Additionally, I think they tell their friends. The flock
keeps getting bigger and bigger so I am sure they let their
friends know where the food is. And their friends are not
only their same type, they tell everybody.
It makes me laugh really for I see within the system the
"habit structure" by which these birds are governed. It
really is humorous when you look at it.
It puts me in mind of the time I was in India. While looking
at a part of Indian history a boy came up to us and was
asking for a stick of gum. I gave him one.
You know what he did? He turned around and whistled.
Suddenly there were twenty of them all asking for gum.
I know not where these kids came from but they certainly all
knew the "signal" and the "plan". The "front runner" got
results and WOW! - did he ever let everybody else know.
I laughed. Not only should I have known, but the "system"
works fantastic. They learn young.
But why do THEY SETTLE FOR SCRAPS?
Do yourself a favor and go buy and read Jonathon Livingstone
Seagull by Richard Bach, and The Saga Of Pinehill by Ken
Darby. Both books will give you a glimpse into what is
possible.
That is what all these situations remind me of, the seagulls
fighting and squawking on the beach for scraps. The human
race is like that too.
Peer pressure, habit structure and ignorance keep us from
what our Maker WANTS to give us. We can all have peace and
prosperity when we stop thinking we are so darn important we
can't stop what we are doing.
It is in the quiet we find these fruits. It is in the knowing that
we are rewarded. It is in the moments when you can meet
your real self that you gain power.
Let not fear be at the controls - let courage direct you.
Don't be afraid of what is behind that door just because you
haven't been through it before. Sometimes opening a new door
is like opening an old chest in the attic - it is filled
with treasure.
The treasure you are looking for is peace and prosperity,
with a little adventure thrown in.

Your Immune System: Delicate Yet Critical
How It Serves You And Why You Need To Keep It Healthy
PART 5 of 12
RECOGNIZING THE INVADER
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/19331.htm
"An allergy occurs when the immune system reacts to
substances (allergens) that are generally harmless and in
most people do not cause an immune response. Antibodies are
formed by the immune system in response to the presence of
an antigen such as pollen, mold, dust or dander." These are
important definitions and descriptions.
Recognize that these definitions and links come from
well-respected and trustworthy sites. (I think I have said
those words before, but it IS really important that unless
you have this kind of reliable knowledge, you can be so
easily misled.) All of these sites have research studies
attached. This is Step One in the care and feeding of your
Immune System.
Let's see how they could be put to practical use in your
body and in your life through examples. As you have just
read, the Immune System is a series of protective mechanisms
or systems found naturally in your body. This protection is
both internal and external. It provides protection to the
entire body, with many "subsections". These protect you
regionally (limb) and locally (finger). Immune System keeps
internal (pathogens/disease-causing) and external (foreign
bodies) invaders from affecting your everyday life. (For
ease of our discussion, these invaders are called "free
radicals".)

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.
The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

"Good for you. He will truly learn the law and
be a changed person for it. It may well be the
beginning of a new life for him. My blessings unto
you and unto him. All else is well then?"
"Yes, Mr. Henry."
"Have you seen Riata lately?"
"She was here not long ago. She said she was
at a wedding at your place. She said she had a
very good time but had to get back to the
orphanage in China. She asked some of us to come
over there to see her. I have been thinking about
it Mr. Henry. I think I should go."
"Yes, Pedro, you most certainly should go.
There are others here, too, who should go. Why
don't you take turns and each of you can go, maybe
even in pairs. The shrine will be fine."
"Thank you Mr. Henry. We shall. I guess we
are yet young in higher law to know the things we
should be doing."
Sam looked at Miguele and Romano. Each knew
what Sam was thinking. Each nodded their heads.
"Miguele, the Father of Miss Riata and Romano
the husband of Miss Riata's sister, will come to
meet with you regularly to discuss these things
they will show you the way."
"I know these men. They are most welcome. I
thank you for the support."
"Pedro, I must take my leave now. Thank you
for your hospitality. I am glad I came to see you
today." Sam rose. The light he emitted sent light
unto every corner of the orphanage. He raised his
hands and sent unto the orphanage a blessing. The
love he broadcast was powerful and reached to the
core of each in attendance.
Sam made his way out the front of the
orphanage and as he began to pass by the visitors
at the shrine they bowed unto him. He reached down
to those he could and required they stand. He felt
sorry for these who thought he was a holy man.
They knew not they had the same power and
capacity.
He walked out onto the street and people began
to follow him. He walked past the first of the
church booths, which was empty, but for the priest
who had no visitors in the last hours. Sam looked
straight into the eyes of the priest. The priest
suddenly knew what had happened and he cast his
eyes down, in shame.
Sam well knew this priest would take the
message up the line to the cardinal. He also knew
the church, having a short memory, would once more
do what it could to protect its source of money.
Sam decided to stay a few days extra, just to look
in on the matter.
As they walked down the street Miguele pointed
out they were having a crowd following them. Sam
stopped, and turned around.
"See me not as a holy man. I am one of you.
Each man can do what I do if you would but learn
the law. Go inside yourselves to find your Maker
within and you shall have such power. My blessings
unto you." Sam raised his hands and sent love unto
the people. They murmured and bowed. As they did,
Sam slowly made himself, Miguele and Romano
invisible and began to move away from the crowd.
He did not make them visible again until they were
at Miguele's place.
"My God, Sam! What happened. You have
changed." Alewka knew what had happened but the
countenance of her man had changed considerably.
As Sam had entered the house there was light
into every corner. His appearance had changed so
much the ladies could hardly believe it.
Miguele and Romano relayed the story of Sam's
anger at the churches false prophet centers. They
told of Jesus visit unto Sam and of Sam's
transformation. They spoke of the Council of the
White Brotherhood. They described events at the
shrine and those that followed as the left.
When they were done the women were sitting in
awe of what had happened. Alewka looked into Sam's
eyes, a tear appeared in her own. She knew their
lives had just changed. She knew also they were
going to stay here a while. Sam would not begin a
challenge to the church without also finishing it.
It would take a month to play out. That was fine
with her. She would go anywhere with her man. She
was never more proud of Sam than right now.
"Would you men like to eat?" Abetta, always
the cook, suddenly came to realize it was the
supper hour.
"Sure." Romano was the one who responded. He
still had the appetite of a young man and would
eat anytime.
Oomano walked over to Romano and held close to
his arm. She loved him very much and was pleased
he had the opportunity to see what had happened.
The whole house was filled with light and love
unlike ever before.

TOMORROW - - - Greed of the church comes through
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
WHY DO WE SAY IT?
Hair of the Dog. Why is taking a morning-after drink as a
pickup called taking a "hair of the dog that bit you"?
Because the ancients believed that one of the best cures for
hydrophobia or any other disease you might obtain from a dog
bite, consisted of taking a "hair of the dog that bit you"
and placing it in the wound.
Tomorrow: Idiot. Has the word "idiot" always meant a mentally
deficient person?

"Exposure plus 95 cents might buy you a decent cup of

HA! HA! HA!
Two robins were sitting in a tree. "I'm really hungry," said
the first one.
"Me, too" said the second. "Let's fly down and find some
lunch."
They flew to the ground and found a nice plot of plowed
ground full of worms. They ate and ate and ate 'til they
could eat no more.
"I'm so full I don't think I can fly back up to the tree,"
said the first one. "Me either. Let's just lay here and bask
in the warm sun," said the second.
"O.K." said the first. They plopped down, basking in the
sun. No sooner than they had fallen asleep, a big fat tom
cat snuck up and gobbled them up. As he sat washing his face
after his meal, he thought, "I love baskin' robins."
