Do millipedes really have 1,000 legs?
Millipedes are commonly known as "thousand leggers," but
they usually only have a measly few hundred legs. The MOST
number of legs counted on a millipede is 752. (Most have
less than 200-300.) You'd think that all those legs would
make them extraordinarily fast, but having too many legs,
like too many cooks, is not necessarily efficient. Because
of the numerous legs, the animals walk slowly, with a
wavelike motion of the legs down the body. However, the legs
do provide the force needed to burrow into the ground.
What kind of monkey was featured in "Raiders of the Lost
Ark"?
Yep, it was the capuchin. Monkeys are divided into two
easy-to-remember categories: Old World monkeys and New World
monkeys. Old World monkeys, including baboons and macaques,
are more closely related to apes and humans. New World
monkeys, found only in the Western Hemisphere, include
tamarins, marmosets, and capuchins. The cute little monkey
that spied on Indiana Jones and Marion was a capuchin, but
capuchins don't live in northern Africa where the film takes
place! They range from northern South American north to
southern Mexico, depending on the species. Here's an
interesting fact: The capuchin monkey was named after a
European hairstyle because the distinctive crown of hair
resembles the cowl, or capuche, of an order of Franciscan
friars. Capuchins, the stereotypical "organ grinder
monkeys," are extremely intelligent monkeys, demonstrating
cue-producing behaviors and the use of tools. Their
intelligence and even temperament make them excellent
choices for film and television roles.

Rome 'unites to condemn Madonna'
Religious leaders in Rome have united against the
mock-crucifixion featured in US pop star Madonna's latest
show.
In the sequence, Madonna appears on a giant cross wearing a
crown of thorns.
Father Manfredo Leone of Rome's Santa Maria Liberatrice
church told Reuters news agency it was "disrespectful, in
bad taste and provocative".
Muslim and Jewish leaders have also raised objections.
Madonna performs in Rome on 6 August ahead of six further
dates at London's Wembley Arena.
The 47-year-old received similar complaints during the
American leg of her Confessions world tour, with one critic
accusing her of "blatant insensitivity".
The singer has defended the imagery by saying it forms part
of an appeal to her audience to donate to Aids charities.
"Being raised on a cross with a crown of thorns like a
modern Christ is absurd," continued Father Leone. "Doing it
in the cradle of Christianity comes close to blasphemy."
Mario Scialoja, head of Italy's Muslim League, told Reuters
Madonna would "do better to go home", a sentiment echoed by
a spokesman for Rome's Jewish community.
Madonna has invited controversy before, notably with her
1989 Like a Prayer video, which featured a black Christ-like
figure and burning crosses, and a 1993 tour in which she
simulated masturbation on stage.

A Few Thoughts To Share On Hormones
And Their Actions

Before I go any further, I need to make sure you don’t
use this information for anything more than just
learning a little more about your hormones. Please
don’t start diagnosing or treating yourself. These are
chemicals and when they are imbalanced, they will
affect all of your body. Your body craves balance. This
information is written to help you learn about your
body, but just for interest: not to do more. It will
help you to understand your body and its interactions,
and will help you to ask better questions, should you
need medical support.
You will quickly recognize some of the major health
conditions as you read about these hormones. The
presence of these conditions is all to do with a lack
of balance or chemical interactions. I am sure that
this little knowledge and your interest will not make
you an expert. If you have any concerns, please contact
your primary care health care professional. However, as
endocrinology is a specialty with sub-specialties, you
will most likely be sent to a clinical specialist. I’m
sure you have heard that many health care students in
their medical studies have “contracted” all sorts of
diseases. What they studied, they had. You might feel
the same. You probably do not anything remotely
similar. So don’t imagine the worst. Just read for
interest.
Let’s go back to the blood stream and hormones being
transported to their target area. I need to digress
once more here. I deal so very frequently with blood
pressure situations: high, low, or normal. I want to
make you aware how important normal blood pressure is.
Blood distributes everything throughout your body and
if the pressure is too high or too low, it changes when
the “items” reach their destination. Normal blood
pressure is around

Well folks, Madonna is at it again. There are few who know
how to stir up controversy the way she does and she knows it
brings her nothing but money.
This time she is giving a performance in which part of it
has her appearing within a cross like image wearing a crown
of thorns.
She has the church talking against her as well as the
Muslims and Jews. She really hit a home run with this one it
should make her multi millions.
The church is calling it near blasphemy. The Muslims and
Jews figure she should cancel her show in Rome and go home.
I love it, I love it. That the church feels upset is in
itself disgusting, not because of Madonna but because of its
own ignorance. The go merrily on their way and I think are
more afraid of Madonna enlightening some of their
parishioners rather than any blasphemy taking place.
The Catholic church is the one within which is the proper
atmosphere for the development of pedophiles. When such
crimes are committed by its clergy the church hides them
from prosecution. So it seems the church can get away with
criminal acts the rest of us can't. So they are upset? Too
bad.
