PROSPERITY BEGINS
BETWEEN YOUR EARS

If you're waiting for someone or something to give you what you
want in life, you'll wait a long time!
Prosperity is something you create. No one gives it to you. So,
stop waiting and get on with making it happen.
What are you thinking about right now? Is it a negative
thought? Let's make some distinctions: the truth is neutral.
It is neither negative or positive. Judgments are. So often we
fill our head with judgments rather than with the truth or
creative thoughts. This is the most practical advice I can give
you: only think about the truth to assess your current situation
AND then focus only on what you want to create to improve it.
Allow no 'gloom and doom' thoughts. Why? Because, you guessed
it, What You Pay Attention to Expands! That's why I wrote the
book.
Monitor your thoughts for an hour or so. How many are positive,
charged with purpose and clarity? It is reported that the
average child up to the age of six, I think, hears 437 negative
messages a day. This is a putrid training ground for negativity.
So, you can be excused if you are still talking to yourself in
negative terms....until this minute, that is! No more.
If you want to be prosperous, you must change your thinking. I
was working with a coaching client and, during our first call,
I heard, "I just can't decide what I need to do. Life is
passing me by. I have no self-discipline, no relationship and
little self-esteem. Nothing in my life is working. I do not
have enough money." Those were statements of truth to him. My
first question was "What do you most want?" He did not know
where to start. In point of fact, his first statements were
more felt than accurate. As we worked, it became clear that he
had many habits that served him well, that were working for him.
He exercised regularly and gave himself no credit because he
did it to blow off steam. He did not let people walk all over
him, so, his self-esteem put up some very healthy boundaries.
It became clear to me that my client, Kevin, was a
perfectionist. That's trouble. It's both dangerous and
unattainable.
So, we began to talk about prosperity. If he believed that his
first statements about himself were the truth, could it be that
he was keeping those things in place in two ways: talking about
them as facts repeatedly, and, not taking any action steps to
change his situation? Begrudgingly, he agreed.
He was holding those things in place in his mind by repeating
them to himself daily. No wonder everything in his life had
become a downer. Time for a change--A change to prosperity
thinking. The dictionary says that prosperity is 'the
condition of being successful or thriving'. You can be
prosperous. Change your thinking today and see for yourself.
Here are some tips:
WHAT YOU PAY ATTENTION TO EXPANDS
Listen to your conversation in your head and with others. What
are you saying? What are you focusing on? It's not the glass
half empty or full, it's what's filling it that counts! It is
your turn of mind. NEWS FLASH! You can change it at will.
If it has become a habit for you to bad mouth, poor mouth or
nay say, STOP! That's what is going into your consciousness.
Your subconscious mind works in pictures. You say, "I do not
smoke" and your subconscious pictures, "I smoke". It has no
picture for 'not'! If you want to stop smoking, make a mental
picture of yourself smoke-free, with pink healthy lungs, bright
eyes and great self-esteem.
Beware. You are the painter of the pictures in your mind. Paint
the ones you want and never take your eyes off them!
Accept the creative power of your mind and focus it on your
goals.
BELIEVE THAT YOU DESERVE TO THRIVE
In the western culture, many people have difficulties with this.
It's all very convoluted. Many seem to believe that declaring
that they are good at things is bragging, conceit or arrogance.
Declaring that they deserve nothing but good seems outrageous.
WRONG! It is only when we think that we are superior to or more
deserving than others that arrogance enters the picture. It's
not about them. It's about you.
You are here to demonstrate your deeply-held values and
contribute your talents. That simple. That's what makes the
world a pleasant, safe place. How can you do that if you are not
fully expressing yourself? If you're living small and thinking
negatively?
Not only do you deserve to thrive, you are supposed to thrive.
All the conditions for that begin between your ears.
STEP OUT AND BEHAVE "AS IF"
What would you do, say, wear, want and think if you had all the
success you could imagine? Start behaving that way.
One day I was giving a seminar and a thought hit me. I asked
the group, "Do you have anything at home that you are "saving
for good"? Clothes, dishes, crystal, linens, food, jewelry?"
Everyone said that they had...almost proudly. Then, I asked
them, "Has anyone every told you to 'Have a Good Day'? Of
course, they laughed. Each time someone tells you to have a
good day is a reminder to treat yourself well. Use what you're
saving 'for good' today. Make it a 'good' day. Give yourself
the pleasure that these things are meant to bring. Set a
beautiful table for yourself. Wear all your clothes. Enjoy your
jewelry. Go out for a good meal. Treat yourself as the most
important person you know because you are. Without you, where
would you be?
Prosperity thinking begins by believing you deserve to thrive
and be successful. It continues by focusing only on what you
want and where you want to go. And, it's all between your ears.

Reclaiming Your Power.

When I see this "usual" behavior with friends and family,
I may gently ask "why do you give that person so much
power over you?" Many times they don't realise that they
have allowed it, but they did! Think of it as a headline
"Heart Attack Caused By Stranger" or "Fatality At Checkout
Counter" or Multiple Car Crash Caused By Driver 10 Miles
Down The Road" or "Child's Spilled Milk Causes
Mother/Dad's Stroke". These are silly headlines, but the
idea is very real and this is a daily occurrence. It's a matter
of letting someone else have control over your life and in
most cases it's a total stranger who you will never see
again! You wouldn’t allow them to choose your clothes or
hairdo for you. Why would you then allow someone to
choose your attitude? Do this enough times, and you will
be dealing with some sort of health condition, and a serious
one. So as you sit quietly and reflect on each situation, try
not to let the emotion of that moment, recur. The danger is
gone, so don't be affected by it physically again. But use
this time to prepare for the next time, as it will surely come
again. To make these changes, draw on your own past
experience or someone else's. You obviously survived... do
you recall how you handled it? What would you change?
Another really good way to prepare yourself is to put yourself
into someone else's place. How would they react or handle
the same situation? If it's about driving, interview a driver
for executives. If it's about kids, find yourself a couple of
good parenting sites on the Internet with qualified leaders
and pose the questions. Use common sense doing this.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

"Kids" she thought to herself, "Some are now big enough
to be parents. Hmm. I wonder what happens around here
concerning sex?" She stopped that kind of thinking
because she knew she would lose the faith and trust
of the kids if she began to pry. She also knew she was
the only reporter who was allowed in here. She wanted
to maintain that, so she had to behave.
"We don't mind your honest thinking and questions. Don't
worry, we will answer your questions, if you ask them.
We will terminate your privileges if you become dishonest
with us, or try to use us for your own personal gain,
against our will." said one child who had read her
thoughts.
"You mean you know what was going through my
mind?" she asked.
"Yes, Ma'am. We know everything that you have been
thinking about. You are right you must continue to earn
our trust or your privileges will be removed. No other
reporter has come this far." responded the child.
"One thing I was wondering is how do you keep hot
food available all the time. I see no one cooking or
preparing it?" she asked.
"Riata, set up the food. She caused the law to replenish
it whenever it becomes low. She also keeps it hot with
the law, and so we do nothing but dish it out. It is our
privilege to do so. These people are pretty hungry and
thirsty by the time they get here. They believe it has
some kind of holy power to make them well." answered
the child.
"So the increase in the crowd has not affected you in
any way?" she asked.
"No Ma'am." the child answered.
"You know, on that other thought you had, about sex? We
do not conduct ourselves that way. Miss Riata showed us
how to live the life our Maker wants for us. That sex thing is
only for those who are meant to live their lives together.
We spend our time learning to do as our Maker wants. That
is why life is so peaceful here. We have no arguments, and
we are strong. We have defended ourselves against armed
thugs, against city thugs who wanted to do the churches
bidding, against the church itself, against all the ill mannered
reporters. None can touch us." the child said.
The woman winced when the child mentioned ill mannered
reporters. She well knew she, too, used to do that. Thank
goodness she stopped.
The child was direct, to the point, and looked directly into
her eyes when she spoke. She was neither nervous, nor
cunning. There was no man made agenda here. These
children were innocent, and had the power thereof. The
child was casting a spell on the newswoman. Like all
children she was not only beautiful to see, but she had
an air of innocence that compelled the newswoman
to give her a hug.
"You children are amazing. I sure wish adults would
conduct themselves the way you do. You're right. The
reporters that were in here the other day were animals.
They behaved worse than animals. I am ashamed
and embarrassed for them, and I am sorry I am included
in such a group. I want to thank you for trusting me, and
I appreciate that I am the only reporter allowed in
here. Thank you." the newswoman said.
"You have come here now, written about us, seen
how we conduct ourselves every day, yet you have not
given us your name. We know what it is, but why have
you not introduced yourself?" asked the girl.
"I watched what you did to that other reporter who was
obnoxious. I was afraid I should say only what was
necessary and then leave. You gave me the information
I wanted and so I left and it just never occurred to me to
give you my name now. I had forgotten I did not introduce
myself. I am Maria Sanchez. What is your
name?" she asked.
"I am Reno Hossena." she answered.
"Well Reno. Glad to meet you. How old are
you?" Maria asked.
"I am thirteen." Reno answered.
"You are certainly mature for a thirteen year old." said
Maria, "I am very interested in how you live, in the lady
that started the orphanage, and all the things that go
on here. May I enquire more about these things?"
"Yes, you may ask. However, you may want to ask
yourself if you are interested personally or are you
just looking for a newspaper story? You see, the way
we live, all men can live. Those who come to the shrine
can live this way too. Men do not believe that and so
they need a thing to worship. That is what the church
knows, understands and uses to advantage. You can
live this way if you so chose. It is available to all
people." answered Reno.
