"How To Emotionally-Charge Your Sales Letters
To Boost Sales"

Are you frustrated that your sales letter isn't getting results?
Do you wonder how you could make a satisfactory sales
letter even better? If you said, "yes" to either of these
questions then I invite you to read on as you will be richly
rewarded. In the next few moments you are going to discover
how to instantly amplify the selling power of your direct mail
and web copy. Enabling you to potentially break sales
records and outsell your competition.

The solution to your lackluster results or desire to improve
current sales is found in one word. Emotion. As you may
already know buying decisions are based upon emotion
and later backed up by logic. Here's how legendary sales
letter writer Robert Collier put it: "Appeal to the reason, by
all means. Give people a logical excuse for buying that
they can tell to their friends and use to salve their own
consciences. But if you want to sell goods, if you want
action of any kind, base your real urge upon some primary
emotion!"

So how do you inject more emotion into your sales letters
and thus turbo-charge the selling power of your copy?
While there are many ways to 'emotionally-charge' your
sales letters, for our time together let's focus on these
three shall we?

1) Stir Up Pain - Here's where you want to get inside the
heads of your readers. Focus on how they have this problem
(that your product solves) and that because of this problem,
they're hindered, frustrated, troubled and unable to attain
their deepest desires because this problem lingers. You
want to agitate their perceived problem and make it seem
worse than it really is. You can do this by telling them
stories, facts, case histories and linking their problem to
bad scenarios to persuade and influence them into
believing your product is the solution to their problem.

2) Mesmerizing Stories - I already don't have to tell you
that stories will obviously evoke emotion. Watch a tragedy,
you'll feel sad. Watch a sci-fi movie and you'll probably feel
excitement. Watch a horror flick and you'll more than likely
feel scared. My advice to you, is to weave stories into your
sales letters that stir up hope in attaining a goal, avoiding
trouble or achieving a dream. You can also craft stories
detailing what happened to someone who never took action
to solve the problem your product or service is intended to
solve. This kind of story will produce fear of loss, which is
more powerful than desire to gain in most people. You can
also use stories that have a 'human' element to it. Simply
tell a story about someone whom your readers can easily
relate too, describing their problem and the frustrations
that go with it in detail. And then, illustrate how this person
used your product and solved their problem. Consequently
making their life or business much better. This kind of
story creates a type of "Social Proof." Meaning it cultivates
a follow the leader response.

3) Use Emotional Words Instead Of Logical Words - It's
no surprise that some words fire off stronger emotions
than others. Words like abortion, pro-life, Soviet or dictator
have an immediate effect. Other less controversial words
such as mom, dad, family, home, friends sister and brother
have strong emotional impact. You need to evaluate
your target market and find out what key words your
market really reacts too. The key thing to remember is
that just about every word has an emotional element to it.
If your offer is greed oriented, then words and phrases
like "money"; "get rich" ; "six-figures"; and "make money
easily" will excite your readers. Ideally you want to
use many small, one syllable words that your prospects
can relate an emotion to. Pick five or six key words that'll
stir up the emotion you want in your reader and subtly
plant them throughout the sales copy to spark an
emotional reaction.

Whether you're vexed by a sales letter that gets poor
results or you already have a sales letter that's getting
decent results, you now realize what to do to make it sell
more. You simply make it more emotionally-charged.
As of right now, you know three shortcut ways to make your
sales letters more emotional. They are: stir up pain; use
mesmerizing stories; and weave emotional words into
your copy. Go ahead and start making those changes
and if you do this correctly, you should see a rise in
sales and profits.

On another personal note, my son is writing some heavy
duty exams, but the exams are set by academics who have
never done what his work involves. He had a terrible time
dealing with his frustration and anger at this situation. However,
once he realized that he could use the information from an
academic point of view for another purpose, he stopped
fighting himself and got on with the job of studying. His
transformation from a victim and a powerless individual to
being in control was dramatic to say the least! ... And
reassuring for us. I don't think it matters what the situation
is that causes you to react negatively or in a possible
harmful way. It's now a matter of awareness and making
a choice... to accept the situation as "unchangeable" or
to find ways to change YOURSELF to meet the next
challenge in a more helpful way. You don't even need
to worry about the other person nor to teach them a lesson.
The lesson is for you to learn and gain power from and
be prepared with. The lessons to learn are that you don't
ever have to be without power and you have the opportunity
to make a choice (and practice) in how you react. So the
most helpful thing to do is to book time with yourself and
prepare... Start to take charge. This may be difficult for
some to do. It was for me, so when I suggest this to others
is speak from long and well learned experience. People
want to tell me they have no control. But I make suggestions
as to how they have some, and raise their awareness
with examples.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.

on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.

Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.

The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.

The story leads to many friends, many adventures

"I do not understand what you mean." said Maria.

"We live by what is known as higher law. We are able to
manifest anything we need, and if we cannot, then Riata
will come and do it for us. We live by love, not hatred. We
have no room in our hearts for the things men always
want. We can manifest the things we need, and therefore
we have no need for money or other things all men
seek." responded Reno.

"Well, I guess you don't need money. Look at all the
money you're taking in at the shrine." said Maria.

"That is what most folks think. They are like you. We have
not spent even one cent of that money, even to this day.
It has all gone into a bank account to be used for those
less fortunate than we. Even so it is more a burden than
an asset. We can do so much more without money, but the
people feel they have to leave it for doing so makes them
feel better. If we refused the money they would not come.
They would be suspicious of us. That is just the way the
mind of man thinks." answered Reno.

"Why do you live like this Reno? You could go to school,
work in a store, have money and live a normal life. Why do
you live like this?" asked Maria.

"Why would I want to go to school?" asked Reno.

"So you could learn. So you could earn your living in the
world like everyone else does. What future does this offer you
anyway. Are you going to live here all your life?" Maria was
asking from the only point of view she knew.

"Maria," Reno said quietly, calmly and full of love, "there is
no question you can ask me I cannot answer. I have access
to the knowledge of the universe. There is no school created
and staffed by man than can teach me. Indeed, I can teach
them, if they would but listen. But man is stiff necked. He thinks
he already has the way and is quite unwilling to listen to the
greater law. As to my future, I will go and do my Maker's work
wherever that may be. I will follow Riata, for she is a good
example. She knew she was going to be shot, but she just stood
there and let it happen. She has stopped that kind of thing many
times, but it was time for us to live by our own minds and skills,
without leaning on her all the time. She is available to us anytime
we want and she comes when called."

"If you know the knowledge of the universe why don't you impart
it to man?" asked Maria.

"Maria, listen to yourself. I just told you man has ears, but does
not hear. Even you have not heard. You doubt me. You think I
should go to school. You have all sorts of ideas for me and for
my life, not having heard one word I said about doing my Maker's
bidding. Riata showed all of us how to live by higher law. We are
all studying, meditating, learning and practicing. We want to be
like her. Why then, would I want to be like most men when I can
have so much more than most men?" Reno asked.

"I'm not sure what you mean. What is wrong with what most men
want?" asked Maria.

"Nothing for them. That is as far as they look and think, yet when
the occasional one opens his eyes and sees, his life changes
and he becomes what is called, 'on the path'. That man is learning
to do as his Maker wants. He learns to go inside for instructions.
He learns to live by love and not hatred. He learns that life is in
giving, not in receiving. He places his complete life in the hands
of his Maker and worries about nothing, for his Maker gives him
all he needs and more. All men can do this. Most think it folly.
Riata told me one day of when she had a discussion even with
a church minister. She said she wanted to follow Jesus and do
what he told her to do, take no thought for her life. The minister
became angry and told her to go to work for she would starve to
death. This is the woman who now has caused the never ending
food to feed thousands. All churchmen are alike. They go to man's
schools and become convinced they know the way. Not one listens
to Jesus or does as Jesus told them to do. They, in their schools
have found a way around those instructions. They think Jesus was
speaking to 'special' people, not ordinary people. Even Jesus they
think is not a flesh and blood man." said Reno.

"Do you put down the church or the people within
it?" asked Maria.

"No. All men are free to live as they have chosen. I live by the
law 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap.' That law pertains to and affects
all in the universe. So I say to you that if you lead people the
wrong way, what shall be your reward? If you lead people the
right way, what shall be your reward? It is not for me to judge. All
men judge themselves the moment they act, for that act will by
law bring it's own reward. That is why Jesus told the people not
to stand and pray on street corners where men can see them and
call them holy. That is all the reward they will receive. He wanted
us to pray 'inside' ourselves, and our Maker would see we were
rewarded. It is all a matter of higher law." answered Reno.

With all this questioning, debating and thinking about what was
going on Maria had now passed the "reporter" within her and
was asking because of personal interest.
