You Have To Know When To Move On

There are plenty of articles and reports online about
the power of following up on your leads.
But there's another side to the art of marketing and
promotion that's just as important, maybe even more
important.
In the words of Kenny Rogers "You have to know when to
hold them, know when to fold them."
Marketing is a percentage game.
Burn that rule into your brain and you'll save yourself
a lot of headaches.
An article I read by Robert Blackman put it this way:
1) You can't say anything RIGHT to the WRONG person.
2) You can't say anything WRONG to the RIGHT person.
There are times I'll send my follow up letters to every
lead for a week and not get a sign up.
There are other times I have every visitor to my site
sign up.
What did I do differently?
Nothing.
What made the difference in results?
The right person visited at the right time.
So what do you do when you've done everything by the
letter and your prospect hasn't signed up?
You move on to the next prospect.
Make a decision before you've placed your first ad, are
you going to follow up 4 times... 7 times... 10 times?
Once you've made your decision stick to it. Know your
plan will work and follow it to the tee.
There are more people who want... need... and desire
what you have to offer than you could contact in ten
lifetimes.
When you understand that, you'll know when to fold them.
Cut your losses and let your profits run.

Windows 98 allows a user to make cut/copy of something
and paste it into another application. This is a great tool,
but also can be a memory hog, causing your computer to
slow down. To fix this, simply copy a single word in a
document, and whatever image or object that filled that
spot previously will be pushed out.

WONDERING ABOUT SYMPTOMS
YOU CAN'T EXPLAIN?

You undoubtedly hear and see commercials enticing you
to do this, be that, smell like this eat this or feel like this.
Primarily the advertising is designed to do one of two
things... help you avoid pain or move you toward pleasure.
And removing your pain always seems to be more
desirable. That pain is strong physically, but more
so emotionally. So on our health focus; gaining pleasure
is often overlooked in the search for eliminating pain.
But ultimately, are we not also seeking pleasure,
(health) a feeling of wellness: the state of happiness
and joy. It is for me and I suggest it is for you. So the
next question has to be "how do we find this state". If
we already felt satisfied, none of the above would be
an issue. Or maybe not...maybe we are looking for
more pleasure.
A few days ago, I received a very interesting, helpful,
and thought-provoking letter. This gentleman had been
experiencing symptoms that led him and his doctor to
consider the diagnosis of Menieres'. I'll let his email
speak for itself, but for obvious reasons, I am not going
to mention the product or the gentleman's name. But he
did give me permission to use the information. I think it's
important enough to use this in one of my Pebble columns.
He writes: "In a previous newsletter you dealt with 'triggers'
that brought on Meniere's attacks. I have discovered
another one! Being a Type II Diabetic for fifteen to 20 years
I recently (within the past 4 to 5 years) took on the added
problem of ED, 'Erectile Dysfunction. As soon as the
'ErectionAide' became available in Canada I got a prescription
and found 'new life' where it had all but disappeared.
Then, while having a friendly conversation with my druggist
about Méniere's (having just picked up a refill of 'ErectionAide')
he remarked that some of my problem might be right there in
my hand!!! That reminded me that some of my attacks had
certainly come the day following my use of 'ErectionAide'.
So I started to keep a record. Three times in a row, without fail,
'ErectionAide' was followed by a severe attack lasting from
3 hours to all day. Upon discovery of this link I stopped
using the 'ErectionAide'. No more severe attacks and only
one insignificant 'unsteady' spell that lasted an hour or so.
You will probably want to use this information, which is OK by
me as long as you don't use my real name."
Many of you know we have a very active Meniere's
website...so most of our discussions center around dizziness,
balance, or hearing challenges. Why would someone think
there could possibly be a connection. One site is a long way
from the other. But this is how we get people to think about
possible connections all the time.... connections: no matter how
removed from possibility or credibility they could be. And here
this gentleman's pharmacist made the possible connection.
I want to stress the word "possible" because not everyone has
these side effects, but if you do, then start looking at what you
are putting into your body... anywhere. And have these possible
side effects ever been mentioned before? Probably. And would
anyone want to know? Probably not!

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

They bowed and gave him the bolt of cloth. He thanked
them. Then they took the prettiest, and liveliest, bolt of cloth
and gave it to Eloise, who, by this time had come up to
Mazunta and stood beside him, holding his arm.
It was clear to the visitors she was expecting. They wanted
her to have this cloth for clothes for the baby. They would
not accept any other words about the issue.
Mazunta noted they were also surprised he was there.
There was no possible way for him to be back in this
village had he traveled on the river.
The village invited the visitors to stay the night. That way
they could get a fresh start in the morning.
They were wary, but Mazunta's broadcast of love and
calmness aided their decision to stay.
Eloise was glad. The visitors unloaded their canoes,
packed up the open bundle of goods, and made sure their
canoes were well up on shore.
There would be a good fire this night.
In deference to the visitors the village began the fire early.
The visitors would want a good sleep and be on their way
early in the morning.
All villages up and down the river had a fire in the evenings.
They all conducted life much the same way as did this
village. This village, however was a richer village, in the
sense of clothing, huts, etc. It was something that sprang
out of love and harmony within the village. It permitted good
organization and people working well together.
The visitors were ushered to the head of the fire, next to
Mazunta and Eloise.
They observed well the differences in the way events were
conducted. For example, this is the first time the visitors had
seen the leader of the village, and his wife, sitting in chairs
at the head of the fire circle.
The women had all dressed in their finery, brightly colored,
new cloth wraps that were as pretty as spring. They had all
prepared some food and brought it to the fire and offered
much good food and drink to all present.
They sang, danced, listened to the cadence of the drums,
feasted and drank late into the night. While the visitors had
a long journey ahead of them still, they enjoyed the warmth
and hospitality so much they did not want the night to end.
But end it did, mostly because of reason and logic. They had
to be fit to travel. They still, as usual, appointed a guard to
watch over their goods.
The next day, early, the visitors rose and were packing up
their canoes, all as silently as they could, so as not to
awaken the village.
However, the village made a point of getting up, and the
first among them awakened all the rest.
The villagers rushed down to the river to aid the visitors in
their loading. They were offered more food for their journey,
and the visitors went with all the well wishes of the village.
That this village was prosperous, had several white people
among them, has a leader with a white wife, each of whom
sat on chairs at the evening fire, all these things were not
lost on the visitors. They would talk of these things long into
many nights ahead.
Eloise was very happy she had her man for at least one
night. She stuck close to him all night long. They hugged
and kissed and held each other close when they retired.
She was pleased to have him back while yet in the middle
of the trading trip. She knew he would leave the next day
to join his men.
This was the first time the villagers had entertained visitors
from another village in a very long while. The river people
did not do much visiting, but with the two carved canoes,
the white people present, the prosperity and the talk of
"magic" men, most of the river people stayed away from
the village.
The river people were a suspicious group. It was all part
of a primitive lifestyle, that was removed from higher
education. At the same time they had values long lost
amongst those of higher education.
These suspicions did not say to stay away from Mazunta's
village, but the subtle leaning was to stay away,
"just in case".
