How did the Frisbee get its name?
The Frisbee got its name from William Frisbie, who never
intended to invent a popular plaything. William Frisbie
was the owner of a bakeshop in Connecticut. His pies
were sold in metal pans with his last name stamped on
them. Eventually, some Yale college students started
throwing his pie pans around like a discus, yelling
"Frisbie!" as a warning. In the 1950s, when UFOs were
a top topic, Walter Morrison made a flying UFO toy out
of plastic (his prototype was tin) and got the Wham-O
company to sell it under the name "Flyin' Saucer." On
a promotional tour in Connecticut, the sales rep was
shocked to discover that Yale students were ALREADY
playing with a similar toy. The Yale students liked the
new, plastic, more aerodynamic, disc better, but the
sales rep liked the name of the metal pie tin: Frisbie.
In 1959, Wham-O changed the name of its product
from "Flyin' Saucer" to "Frisbee."
How did the "touch-me-not" get its name?
On the surface, touch-me-nots appear pretty harmless.
The flowers have no sharp thorns, no poisonous sap.
Why shouldn't you touch them? The answer is: exploding
seed pods. If you touch the plant's seed pod, it bursts
and hurls tiny seeds as far as six feet in the air. Of course,
that's only going to startle you, not kill you. So touch
away. Actually, the touch-me-not's juice is said to be
a great cure for itching.

If you've read the works of Napoleon Hill, you know that
after an interview with Andrew Carnegie, he set out a quest
for the Holy Grail of success.
Mr. Hill spent thirty years interviewing the leaders in
every field. From politicians to great inventors.
His goal was to scientifically analyze the traits of the
greatest achievers of his time.
As result of his study he wrote two classic self-help books
"The Laws Of Success" and "Think And Grow Rich."
Mr. Hill's works are credited with creating more
millionaires and helping more people achieve success in
their chosen vocations than any other author.
That's the story anyone who has read his writings already
knows.
But guess what?
That's not where the story ends.
Napoleon wasn't satisfied with his accomplishments and
acclaim. There was still one nagging question.
Even though so many were helped by his writings, why were
there others who never reached their potential, even after
reading his masterpieces?

So signs and symptoms, and other acquired skills, are what
doctors base their diagnosis on. Their critical thinking skills
will connect the different body systems for possible causes.
But this process takes time and a willingness of the doctor
to maybe think differently. And here is where a strange
phenomenon is happening. People are bypassing doctors'
offices and going directly to the Internet. The Internet is
a mine of information! When you type in a couple of key
phrases of signs and symptoms, your search will bring up
a huge number of resources! Information from many
different sources . . . some trustworthy and some not as
trustworthy. And this presents you with a dilemma. Now you
aren't sure what to believe and how it would apply to YOUR
body . . . so you want to take all this to your doctor.
DON'T DO THIS! They will most likely not see this the
same way you do. You are doing this to help them with
a diagnosis. And they may well view it as practicing
medicine or interfering or not trusting them to know what's
best for you. Just as you see yourself as an expert in
your profession, they, too view themselves as knowing
all about your body and what's best for you.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

There were few and fleeting moments where Mazunta had
time to think of Eloise and his newborn child Alewka Aniata
Mae. He liked that name and he liked the idea of calling her
Alli. My how he loved that woman of his. His heart was full.
But he was continually interrupted by well wishers, villagers
who wanted him to be in a mood of celebration, not reflection.
There would be time for reflection later.
The music stopped. Boolanga approached the head of the
fire circle.
Holding up his hands to still the audience he spoke. "This
day Mazunta and our beloved Missy, have given the village
a new child. They have been blessed with the gift of a
daughter. This is a joyous day for it marks a new generation,
a new year and new summer. This child will have much to
live up to for her parents walk a wide and straight path. It is
fitting we celebrate. It is good our leader has a family. It is
right we should all enjoy that with him. We will watch the
child grow, mature and take her place in our village. As the
fruit falls close to the tree so, too, will this child be like her
parents. What joy that brings unto this village. Cheer, with
me, this leader of ours."
A loud cheer went up. It carried on for a long and loud time.
Boolanga turned to face Mazunta and nodded his head to
men who had placed themselves on each side of
Mazunta's chair.
They picked up the chair, Mazunta and all, and began a
walk around the circle, stopping at everyone. All villagers
touched Mazunta's feet. The children did too. It was thought,
in this village, that if you touched a man's feet you touched
the very foundation of the man, that some of his
characteristics would become yours.
That process took over an hour. When they finally came
back to the head of the circle there was Aniata, Honero,
Alewka and Sam. Each, like the villagers, touched Mazunta's
feet. This they did out of respect. When they did a loud
cheer went up.
To the villagers this meant that his parents and his wife's
parents had a deep and abiding respect for the man and
for his leadership. It meant they would willingly follow him,
that they considered themselves not superior to him.
Another round of food was provided and several beverages
were offered. While none were intoxicating, the beverages
ranged from the very sweet to the very sour.
The evening itself, the comradeship, the song, the dance,
the stories were intoxicating enough. It had been whipped
up to such a state that people did not want to leave. The
sun was making it's appearance for the day, when the last
of the villagers went home to sleep. The fire had died down
to safe levels and finally extinguished.
Mazunta went home and slept the sleep of a baby. He
was exhausted.
Eloise had been awake for hours. She had tried to get up,
but was yet a little weak. The baby stirred. Eloise put her to
her breast. Her milk had not yet begun to flow, although
this would not take long now Alli was beginning to stimulate
her breast.
After fifteen or twenty minutes the child slept.
Eloise had awakened and re-energized. She sat up. She
was still sore, and weak but she stood.
Just them Karmuz came in. She was surprised to see Eloise
up. "Missy! Are you okay?" she asked.
"I'm fine Karmuz, just weak. My energy will return by the
end of the day. I'm fine. I think the more I walk and move the
better I will be. That is what I was going to do when you came
in. That was some party last night. I heard it off and on for
nearly all night. How is Maz?" she asked.
"Your man is fine, though tired I suspect. Boolanga tells me
the sun was rising when Mazunta went home to your house.
Are you up to leaving today and going home? How is the
baby? Did she feed yet?" asked Karmuz.
"My you are full of questions today. The baby is fine. She just
tried to feed. I kept her at my breast for fifteen or twenty minutes,
but there was no milk coming. She didn't seem to mind. When
she fell asleep, that is when I got up." Eloise answered.
"Your milk will be here by the time you go home. The child will
demand it and with the stimulation she just gave you the milk
will flow. That is good." said Karmuz.
