What do you call a group of kittens?
Bet you didn't even suspect there WAS a word for this. A

What do you call pregnant goldfish?
Pregnant goldfish are "twits." Remember that the next
time you call your obnoxious colleague a twit.

TITLE ARTICLE - - -

This is a wake up call!!!! An extract from
7 Habits of Highly Effective People
Once upon a time, there was a very strong woodcutter.
He asked for a job from a timber merchant, and he
got it.The pay was really good and so were the work
conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter was
determined to do his best. His boss gave him an axe
and showed him the area where he was supposed
to work. The first day, the woodcutter brought down
18 trees. The Boss was very much impressed and
said, "Congratulations, Go on that way!"
Very motivated by the words of the boss, the woodcutter
tried harder the next day, but he only could bring
down 15 trees. The third day he tried even harder,
but he only could bring down 10 trees. Day after
day he was bringing down less and less trees.
"I must be losing my strength", the woodcutter thought
to himself. He went to the boss and apologized,
saying that he could not understand what was
going on.
"When was the last time you sharpened your! axe?"
the boss asked.
"Sharpen? I had no time to sharpen my! axe. I have
been very busy trying to cut trees.
The moral of the story: Our lives are like that. We
sometimes get so busy that we don't take time to
sharpen the axe. In today's world, it seems that everyone
is busier than ever, but less happy than ever. Why is
that? Could it be that we have forgotten how to stay
sharp? There's nothing wrong with activity and hard
work. But we should not get so busy that we neglect
the truly important things in life, like our personal life,
taking time to care for others, taking time to read etc.
We all need time to relax, to think and editate, to
learn and grow. If we don't take time to sharpen the
axe, we will become dull and lose our effectiveness.
So start from today, think about the ways by which
you could do your job more effectively and add a lot
of value to it. Hope this story has given you some
insight to life, may you be happy always!

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson
I Wish Doctors Had More Time to Listen.
Then You Wouldn't Be Looking For Your
Own Solutions On The Internet. (How To
Use The Internet Knowledge And Still Keep
Your Doctor!)
PART 8 of 10
I had an email from a gal who stopped at the side of
a road to watch a small plane do that she thought was
doing acrobatics. To her horror and her health, she
discovered the plane was crop dusting a very large
area of farmland! And she was in the direct line of
the plane's spraying path! Ten days later, she is in
hospital in a coma. She is severely disabled. Can
someone easily connect the incidences? It's tough.
So how can you use your Internet searches to "help"
your doctor? After all it is your health and you have
chosen to participate actively in your wellbeing.
I would suggest you read all you can about your
particular problem. Get at least three and hopefully
more, articles from recognized authorities. Read
what suggestions they make if you like the information.
DON'T do anything yet! Just read and think. Gather
information and confidence in the subject. Digest
this information. Do you agree with it? Disagree? Do
you feel you can trust the writer? If you like a certain
train of thought, ask questions of the writer. Don't
accept anything just because someone wrote it. I am
sure you know that on the Internet, anyone can link
to a very credible site and hope that credibility rubs off.
Now that you have learned a lot about your condition,
plan your next doctor's visit carefully. DO NOT take
your research with you!!!! (MY husband proudly
presented his doctor with several thick packets of
Internet research . . . and was told not to come
back . . . And if his doctor heard of any cure for his
condition, he would be the first to hear it.! The irony
is that he indeed found the solution to his problem via
an email from the Internet!

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"Each action brings with it a result. If they
were preaching the unshakable truth it would
stand. Now there are doubts in the minds of the
congregation the "truth" spouted from the pulpit
no longer holds them."
"Is that what Jesus did so long ago? Did
churches break up even then?"
"Some, Sharon, but political control of the
people was based somewhat on the church
cooperation with the government. The conspiracy
made it necessary for people to stay if they
wanted to have food or to live any semblance of
normal life. They did not enjoy the freedoms then
we have today. Today every person could walk away
from church and that would not impede their
ability to earn themselves a living. Not so back
then. So, to answer your question, only a few
chose to look at and follow what Jesus taught.
Those that did still live by higher law today and
work along side him as do those who learn higher
law today."
"Why is it so hard to learn, Tim?"
"Actually, Sharon, it is not hard to learn.
The laws are easy and so is the way. Man, however,
has come to believe in the physical and mental
laws and has failed to observe and believe the
spiritual laws. He, therefore, has set up his
world based on what he knows and sees nothing
else. That is the problem with each individual
person as well. Every child that comes into this
world is entirely and completely ignorant at the
mental level. Everything they become from that
point is learned from their parents. They are
taught to be selfish or to be giving. They are
taught to hate or they are taught not to hate.
They are taught not to kill, or they are not
taught not to kill. They are taught to care for
their fellow man or they are taught not to care
for him. All these things a child is taught and
therefore becomes the adult he was taught to be.
Do you see that?"
"Yes, but how does that make it hard to learn
higher law?"
"Sharon, in all your life you were not taught
about higher law. You were, in fact, taught 'there
is no free lunch'. You were taught that 'money
doesn't grow on trees'. You were taught to 'keep
your shoulder to the wheel'. All of these lessons
contain two parts. The first part is simple and
obvious. If you don't work you will not have the
things you want. The second part of the teaching,
however, is sinister. It says, by assumption,
there is no other way. Because of that teaching
you doubt there is any way to live that is better
than what you were taught. Your doubts impede your
learning and practicing higher law. Does that make
sense?"
"Yes. It means I must learn to overcome what I
have been taught up to this point."
"Not entirely, Sharon. What you have been
taught up to now is right. Now doesn't that
surprise you?"
"What do you mean?"
"Sharon there are three basic sets of laws
that govern the universe and all that is in it.
There are the physical laws. Those are the ones
that say that if you touch a hot stove you will
get burnt, or that you must have food, water,
clothing and shelter in order to live. Then there
are the mental set of laws that, through thinking
permit man to discover many of the physical laws
and put them to work. For example man could very
well have flown and had airplanes back in the days
of Michelangelo if only he, then, had discovered
the principle or law that allowed him to build an
effective wing. It was only through study over
time that man learned that principle even though
it has been in effect since the beginning of time.
Then there is the third set of laws, the spiritual
laws. They are the laws that say whatever you
believe shall come to pass."
"But why aren't we taught those laws?"
"Mostly because man would then lose control of
you. So long as you depend on the things of man
then man has control of you. I want you to notice
something. Observe how each set of laws gains
control over the set of laws beneath it. Man's
control and use of his own mind has permitted him
to overcome and use the physical laws to where he
can today do many things that were beyond men of
2000 years ago. That is because man has learned by
use of his knowledge of mental laws, to overcome
the physical laws. When man learns there are
spiritual laws that will control everything in the
universe then he will have dominion over all
things. Yet, today, he is so wrapped up in things
his emotions direct him toward that he is blind to
spiritual law. Does that make sense?"
"Yes, but what do you mean his emotions direct
him?"

we are doing in our business.
It is a way of seeing some of the good things and not so good

TODAY'S REPORT:
Lately I have been streamlining thePEBBLE. It does a
number of things, including being a little less work for
me. It means thePEBBLE is shorter and easier to read.
It means it takes less time to download. It means
thePEBBLE should be more meaningful to those
who receive it.
You will notice, likely already have, that I have cut
out the classified ads. The only ads that now appear
in thePEBBLE are those for products we produce
ourselves or paid ads that we accept. Therefore your
reading is not encumbered by all the ads that used
to be in it.
I am not convinced that this particular column is of
any use or value to anyone so I have arrived at the
decision to drop in from thePEBBLE beginning with
the first issue of 2005. Unless I hear any objection
to this idea this column OBSERVATIONS OF OUR
BUSINESS will cease at the end of the year. Thanks.

HA! HA! HA!
A guy burned two ears... so they were asking him at
the hospital how it happened.
He said, "I was ironing my clothing and the phone
rang...so instead of the phone I picked up the iron
and burned my ear..."
"But how the heck did you burn the other ear?"
The doctor asked.
"How do you think I called you people?"

"Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no
time and effort searching for peace and contentment and
joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no
happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving.
Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume
you cannot pour on others without getting a few
drops on yourself."
