The Simplest Advice
by Rhoberta Shaler, PhD

In these days of do more, be more, have more, it may be wise
to get off the beaten track and reflect on what is best for
you in the workplace. What fits your lifestyle? What fits your
integrity? What captures your interest? What warms your heart?

I once read a story about a young lawyer who was joining a
prestigious firm. She was spending a quiet evening with her
grandmother and she told her that she was going to do all that
she could to advance in her new organization. She would take a
night school course to become an expert in her specialty, and
join community organizations to bring in business. She was
determined to do everything and 'learn it all'. To her mind,
the picture she was painting was one of the perfect employee.
Doing all those things would win her recognition, acceptance
and an elevated career path.

The expected approval and enthusiasm from her grandmother was
not forthcoming. Smiling at her well-meaning granddaughter,
she said: "Be good at whatever you do and do only what you are
willing to do well." This startled the young lawyer and caused
her a great deal of deep thought. After a few nights of poor
sleep, she embraced her grandmother's wisdom. Now she is the
esteemed senior partner in her firm.

Hopefully, you have chosen your work carefully. If not,
rethink it. If so, are you making sure that you are good at
what you do? Do you stay up-to-speed in your industry? Then,
add that next step, do only what you are willing to do well.
This may take some honesty but it will have tremendous impact
on all areas of your life.

Apply this wisdom liberally. Imagine the impact it will have
on your relationships!

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson

Mercury / Amalgam Dental Fillings
PART 4 of 8

In his letter to me Dr. McGuire writes:

The Effect of Mercury on People with Meniere’s Disease

Even though little research has been done regarding the
direct relationship of Meniere's disease and chronic
mercury poisoning we do know that mercury is an
extraordinarily powerful neurotoxin and the majority of
the symptoms of chronic mercury poisoning are
neurological. It is also related to
numerous movement and hearing problems, including,
ataxia, dizziness, and tinnitus. As you know,
www.mercuryfreenow.com lists many other symptoms proven
to be associated with chronic mercury poisoning.
Because Meniere's is your field of expertise you will
also relate to other symptoms of chronic mercury
poisoning connected with it.

Thus, as you see from just some of the symptoms of
mercury poisoning, there very well could be a
connection, even if an indirect
one--just from the dizziness and ringing in the ears
alone. No where could I find a study that directly
connected chronic (or acute) mercury
poisoning to Meniere's, except a few articles that
associate dizziness both to Meniere's and mercury
poisoning, which we already know is the case. But that
doesn't mean there isn't any connection; it only means
no one has seen fit to do the studies necessary to find
out. Or as Dr. Boyd Haley has said regarding mercury’s
yet unproven connection to certain health conditions,
“Absence of proof is not proof of absence.”

But after 30 years of studying this subject I’m
convinced that long term, chronic mercury poisoning
will effect, to various degrees, every part of the body
and can cause, contribute to, or make worse just about
every disease and symptom humans are afflicted
by. Mercury is also extraordinarily destructive to the
immune system, both directly and indirectly. This fact
alone should concern anyone with Meniere’s disease or
any of the numerous health problems related to an
ineffective and damaged immune system. In
addition, Meniere's is known as an idiopathic disease,
meaning no one really knows what actually causes
it. Thus the role mercury may play in this condition
cannot be specifically discounted, nor should it be.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

----------------------------------------

They walked arm in arm through the center of
town and on toward the Smithson house. Onlookers
knew immediately what was up. They smiled as they
passed the two in love.

Tim gave Sharon a quick kiss on the lips at
her front door, and she disappeared inside.

He virtually floated all the way home. He
thought of nothing but Sharon.

Sharon, too, was floating on a cloud when she
walked into the house. Her mother knew instantly
something had changed with her daughter. While she
did not know, she was suspicious. She let it go.
She knew she should not interrupt this moment for
her girl.

As for Sharon, her heart was beating a mile a
minute. Her head was in a trance. The only thing
she could think of was Tim. Her body wanted him
but that was somehow no longer as important as it
once was. Today there was just a pulsing, beating
love for Tim that controlled her every thought.

She wanted to be with him. She wanted to hold
him and have him hold her. She wanted never to be
separated from him again.

The fact was the pair of them were joined.
Their souls reached out to each other across the
City of Pinehill and they never let go.

This love was not only emotionally charged but
was as pure as love can be. It occupied their
minds, of course, but it also put a spell on their
bodies, their souls and every fibre of their
being. Neither one could think of anything but the
other.

Tim shook his head. He knew he had to come out
of this, yet he didn't want to. He also knew that
Sharon was nearly through the veil of simplicity.
He knew she was going to become an accomplished
Master. He knew this was the love he had wanted
and that from this day his life was forever
intertwined with Sharon.

He was glad of that. He was thankful Sharon
had the courage to come over and talk with him
even in spite of her earlier actions. That courage
not only brought the two of them together but
would put her in good stead for the rest of her
life.

Sharon, too, shook her head. This had been a
monumental day for her. She knew she would be a
Master, that she, now, need only do. She knew and
understood the laws deep down in the core of her
being and that if she could ever again get control
of her mind she would do the things of a Master.
That, on top of her love for Tim meant she had a
day like none other in her life.

She lay on her bed and allowed herself to
bathe in the feelings, thoughts and ideas she was
having. She was slowly coming around but she
really didn't want to. This was the most wonderful
feeling she had ever enjoyed.

"Sharon, time for supper!" The call was her
Mother's voice.

Sharon rose slowly and just as slowly
walked out her door, down the hall and to her
place at the kitchen table. She spoke to no one
and started in on her meal.

Both her Mom and her Dad were watching her.
They said nothing but it was evident to them their
daughter had changed, that she was in a near
euphoric state of mind.

They looked at each other with that knowing
look that comes as much from the heart and soul as
it does from the mind. They knew their daughter
was in love. They knew, too, they best leave it
alone for now, that Sharon would tell them in her
own time. They smiled at each other. This was a
good moment for them. It pleased them that Sharon
had found someone. They did not know for sure, at
this instant, just who that someone was, but they
figured Tim Henry.

"Sharon, dear, would you help me with the
dishes?"

"Sure Mom" came the unthinking answer.
Harriet Smithson smiled.

HA! HA! HA!

A man calls home to his wife and says, "Honey I have
been asked to go fishing at a big lake up in Canada
with my boss and several of his friends.

We'll be gone for a week. This is a good opportunity
for me to get that promotion I've been wanting so would
you please pack me enough clothes for a week and
set out my rod and tackle box. We're leaving from the
office and I will swing by the house to pick my things
up. Oh! Please pack my new blue silk pajamas."

The wife thinks this sounds a little fishy but being a
good wife she does exactly what her husband asked.

The following weekend he comes home a little tired
but otherwise looking good. The wife welcomes him
home and asks if he caught many fish.

He says, "Yes! Lots of Walleye, some Bluegill, and a
few Pike. But why didn't you pack my new blue silk
pajamas like I asked you to do?"

The wife replies; "I did, they were in your tackle box."
