thePEBBLE - 12/15/05 - Is It Right? Is It Wrong? Does It Matter?

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

A typical, obviously American, community. Two young people
given an opportunity for an a adventure with an attainable
financial reward. Their adventure into the inkonwn, not
restrained by dogmatic rules or community restraints, leads
them to resources that change no only the two adventurers'
attitudes, but attitudes of others.

The reader will either come away with a a feeling of
wonderment or question the writer's declared source, his
Maker, for the content.

I was not envious of the characters' adventures but enjoyed
the book as it refreshed the wonderment I had as a youth and
now as a practical adult, to "think outside the box" about
powers that are within us.

Jerry Harlton

Jerry Harlton was an executive assistant to the Right
Honourable Joe Clark, the former Prime Minister of Canada

It took me back to my youth and now inspires me to "think
outside the box".

TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -

How big can jellyfish get?

How much was the director of "Gone With the Wind" fined for
using a profanity in the movie?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

Can a sea wasp kill a human?

Yes, but the human would have to get tangled up in the
tentacles and make contact with at least ten feet of
tentacle. Of course, that's possible when you consider the
size of the sea wasp. The "bell" of this particular
jellyfish can get as big as a soccer ball and it can have as
many as 60 tentacles hanging down as much as 15 feet. Some
scientists consider the sea wasp the deadliest creature on
this planet (not counting microbes and humans!). The sea
wasp holds this honor because its venom kills prey almost
instantaneously and because a very small amount of venom is
all that's needed to do the trick.

What are the bodies of jellyfish made up of?

Water, water, and more water. More than 95 percent of a
jellyfish is nothing but water. Jellyfish have no bones, no
heart, no blood, and no brain! Some jellyfish, however, have
eyes that can detect light from dark and even detect some
movement. How can jellyfish have eyes and no brain? (After
all, the brain is usually necessary to process visual
stimuli.) Scientists are still working on that one.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!

Parma ham is only Parma ham if it is made in the Parma
region of Italy. The British chain supermarket Asda, made
and packaged its own "Parma ham" and was successfully sued

Is It Right? Is It Wrong? Does It Matter?

In 1900, fathers prayed their children would learn English.
Today, fathers pray their children will speak English.

In 1900, if a father put a roof over his family's head, he
was a success. Today, it takes a roof, deck, pool, and 4-car
garage. And that's just the vacation home.

In 1900, a father waited for the doctor to tell him when the
baby arrived. Today, a father must wear a smock, know how to
breathe, and make sure film is in the video camera.

In 1900, fathers passed on clothing to their sons. Today,
kids wouldn't touch Dad's clothes if they were sliding naked
down an icicle.

In 1900, fathers could count on children to join the family
business. Today, fathers pray their kids will soon come home
from college long enough to teach them how to work the
computer and set the VCR.

In 1900, fathers pined for old country Romania, Italy, or
Russia. Today, fathers pine for old country Hank Williams.

In 1900, fathers shook their children gently and whispered,
"Wake up, it's time for school." Today, kids shake their
fathers violently at 4 a.m., shouting: "Wake up, it's time
for hockey practice."

In 1900, a father came home from work to find his wife and
children at the supper table. Today, a father comes home to
a note: "Jimmy's at baseball, Cindy's at gymnastics, I'm at
gym, Pizza in fridge."

In 1900, fathers and sons would have heart-to-heart
conversations while fishing in a stream. Today, fathers
pluck the headphones off their sons' ears and shout, "WHEN
YOU HAVE A MINUTE.."

In 1900, a father gave a pencil box for Christmas, and the
kid was all smiles. Today, a father spends $800 at Toys 'R'
Us, and the kid screams: "I wanted Sega!"

Wow! Some changes in a century, huh?

I wonder are the changes right? Are they wrong? Or does it
matter?

In truth they are neither right nor wrong. They just are.
They reflect a steady, general, movement back to our Maker,
not religion, but a true spiritual understanding.

Some of the things not mentioned in the article above are
the fact we are approaching a much better condition of
equality between races and sexes. I did not say we are yet
perfect, but large advances have been made.

The peoples in this earth that continue to live in tribal
conditions have a long way to go. Greed, unfortunately will
continue to get in the way for centuries, though the free
world will advance even further, faster. Conflict between
these two groups will remain, sponsored mainly by the tribal
fundamentalists, just as they are today.

Some think these changes are the result of our technological
advances. Not so. It is a function of the minorities,
wherever they are found, pushing a little harder at the edge
of the envelope.

It is also the result of many working to spread awareness of
truth. The terrible, catastrophic condition of molestation
of youngsters in the churches, is, too, part of the growth
into truth. It is completely obvious those who were, or even
are, our spiritual leaders have a long way to go to find
truth themselves.

Much of the teaching we get is like the blind leading the
blind. As time passes we will all see things in a different
light and we shall awaken to new ways of living.

The changes we see at the end of the next century will
likely be even greater than those explained in the note
above. Just as we look at the changes now, they will then,
and likewise, come to realize it is growth, though, like
now, they know not toward what.

What this means is those of you who are in internet
marketing are at the very forefront of new ways of
distributing knowledge and merchandise. Those who stick with
it through thick and thin will emerge from the other side
winners in more ways than one.

They will be hugely successful, leaders, winners all, who
will take us into the next century. The work day and the
work load for all of us will change. Those on the edge of
the envelope today shall be the leaders and teachers for
tomorrow.

And all the while we get closer to living as our Maker wants
us to live.

So stand back. Take a look at things in a global
perspective. Come to realize how wonderfully important a
role you play, regardless of how insignificant you now feel.
Stick with your internet marketing even through the tough
spots. You will be much needed tomorrow, to spread your
knowledge, and guide the future.

Is It Right? Is It Wrong? Does It Matter?

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson

Meniere's Syndrome
"Meniere's" is a condition affecting the
nerves of one or both inner ears.
PART 5 of 5

Having a life like this, with all it's unknowns and fears of the
future does not give anyone a desirable quality of life. Many
people will stop driving, as they feel unsafe. That limits or
eliminates their freedom! They know how this affects their loved
ones, but there is nothing they can do to make it better. So the
family has to tiptoe around and be very quiet. You will hear
people calling this "the beast". Can you imagine living with
this degree of uncertainty every day? At the beginning of this
article I hinted at a reason for updating this information. This
condition has been a very real part of my life for almost ten
years...fearful, unpredictable, and until a few years ago,
hopeless.a round of tranquilizers, low salt diets,
antidepressants, and little support from the medical community.
Luckily for us, all that has changed because the person who has
it, decided to step out and find solutions rather than spend the
rest of all our lives living from episode to episode. There is
much to be learned and I want to encourage you to explore
different avenues. There is hope and there may be a normal life
in store for you, but you will need more information and a
willingness to see beyond the traditional treatment. Once you
understand the underlying body's responses to "invaders", you
will find ways to deal with the challenge. But then the decision
will be yours to make and the traditional treatment won't be so
final and hopeless. Wouldn't it be good to realise you can have
some control over your health? If you would like more
information on this condition and possible ways to help someone,
please visit http://www.menieres-disease.ca

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

"The only thing I could think to do that might help
was an old trick I knew Indians used back in my country. I
looked around and found David had brought some fish with
him. It was uncooked. I opened it from the wrapping he had
it in and left it to the flies. Sure enough, within a day I
had maggots, baby flies. I took them and put them into
Davids wound. The more maggots I got the more I put in his
leg. After about a day i could see they were doing their
work. They were eating the source of the infection and
beginning to suck back the poison. It was a terrible looking
mess, but it saved David."

"Gee, Mom, that was a pretty gutsy thing to do."

"Not really, honey. When you are in a situation like
that you do what you have to do."

"Yeah! I know, Mom, but maggots?"

"Anyway, they did the job and in two days David, though
weak, was able to walk. His leg still had a lot of healing
to do but it was now bandaged clean and the blood poisoning
was gone. It took us nearly all day to get back to this camp
here. Within a week David was pretty much okay.

That is about the time I found Midnight. Remember
Midnight? She was a beautiful animal. Come with me."

Eloise led the kids and Maz across the meadow, past the
stand of bamboo and to the stream with the waterfall. They
sat down on the bank where Eloise used to lay in the sun and
enjoy just being alive.

"I was laying down in the grass here, one day, and I
must have fallen asleep. When I stirred I looked toward the
stream and there was a big black cat and her kitten
drinking. The kitten was spotted, Mama was black all over. I
lay still, not knowing what would happen. The kitten, like
all young, was inquisitive and started to come over toward
me. I knew I dare not move for the Mother could be on me in
about two bounds and I didn't stand a chance against her.
The first day the kitten just came up and cautiously smelled
my toes. As the days went on he became more brave and soon I
was wrestling with him while his Mother watched on.

It took quite a while, but eventually the Mother came
over and I was allowed to pet her. i called her Midnight.
One day as I was walking back to the hut they followed. It
was a couple days after that I went to help David. While I
was there with David, Midnight came in. David was terrified.
I am glad he was so weak he couldn't even pick up a stick.
Midnight knew he was afraid. She came for a pet and then
left to hunt.

Over the course of the next few days while back at the
hut now, Midnight made several appearances. David slowly got
used to the idea and Midnight and her kitten moved in
permanently. I called her kitten Tiger. He should still be
around here if he is alive. He had clearly marked out this
territory as his, the last time I was here."

"Gosh, Mom, weren't you afraid?"

"I was, AliAnn, a bit. My Dad and I talked about fear
before I left. He taught me a lot, my Dad. He pointed out
that animals can sense fear. Fear broadcasts off a body in
their aura. Animals can spot it a mile off. People can too,
but most don't recognize what is happening. If an animal
smells fear it gets ready to attack because they know the
object fearing them might attack. If you control your fear
there is usually no danger. Midnight has proven that
hundreds of times. That is one of the reasons we stress the
law 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap' so strongly. You know that
when you sow nothing but love all the time, everywhere,
there is little danger, and if someone or something has evil
intentions toward you that love will empower them the more,
yet it will be directed toward them and not you. The result
is the evil they would do to you ends up being done against
them by their own hand and thought."

"Is that the reason why you taught us the law?"

"Yes, Sammy, but not only to protect you. When you live
by higher law you literally have everything. You have
dominion over all things in the universe and in the earth.
Having so much while others are hurting and struggling means
it is up to you to give to mankind. It is your duty to
broadcast love unto all, at all times, without exception. It
just happens to protect you in the process. As you project
love towards all you also set up the circuit upon which you
can direct your thoughts. So if a person is hurting you can
project perfection unto them, that they may be rendered
whole. So there are many reasons why we teach you the law
and why we encourage you to broadcast love unto all things."

They began walking back to the hut, past the bamboo
stand.

"Did you catch fish out of that stream, too, Mom?"

"Yes, dear. And this is where I first met Sien. He was
standing on this path, dressed pretty much like a North
American dresses, as David and I were dressed. I was very
surprised to see him. Then he explained who he was and what
he was doing here. He had come to guide me in the things I
needed to know so I might live by higher law. He said I had
done all the things I needed to do but I had yet to commit
completely and finally to living the life. He took me to a
monastery high in the Andes, where I met Jesus, Mohammed and
Buddha. He showed me how to commit and by that time I was so
convinced it was the right way I simply committed
unreservedly. By that time I had made a practice of going
inside every day, several times a day, to seek direction. It
got to a point where I relied upon it totally. To commit to
living that way was no big step for me. So Sien showed me
more things I could do, that once committed I could do more
and have greater control. I committed."

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

Yellow Press: How did the term "yellow press" come to be
applied to newspapers specializing in sensationalism?

It's because in the late 1800's these papers began printing
sensational articles about "Yellow Peril" the ever
increasing Chinese and Japanese population - which they said
threatened the safety of the white race.

HA! HA! HA!

A large company, feeling it was time for a shakeup, hired a
new CEO. This new boss was determined to rid the company of
all slackers.

On a tour of the facilities, the CEO noticed a guy leaning
on a wall. The room was full of workers and he wanted to let
them know that he meant business!

The new CEO walked up to the guy leaning against the wall
and asked, "How much money do you make a week?"

A little surprised, the young fellow looked at him and
replied, "I make $300 a week. Why?"

The CEO then handed the guy $1,200 in cash and screamed,
"Here's four weeks' pay, now GET OUT and don't come back."

Feeling pretty good about himself, the CEO looked around
the room and asked, "Does anyone want to tell me what
that goof-off did here?"

From across the room came a voice, "Pizza delivery guy from
Domino's."
