How much was the director of "Gone With the Wind" fined for
using a profanity in the movie?

Everyone who has seen "Gone With the Wind" remembers the
moment when Rhett Butler tells Scarlet O'Hara, "Frankly me
dear, I don't give a damn." According to James O'Connor's
book, "Cuss Control: The Complete Book on How to Curb Your
Cursing" ($12.95, Three Rivers Press), the director of the
classic film payed plenty for that single word: $5,000 (a
much larger sum, of course, in 1939). Considering how famous
the line has become, the five grand paid for using it is a
bargain.

Anheuser-Busch Gets Expert
To Promote Health Benefits Of Beer

The nation's largest brewer wants everyone to know that
moderate consumption of beer carries just as many health
benefits as wine and has enlisted the aid of a Harvard
epidemiologist to make its point. Dr. Meir Stampfer, known
as the "rock star" of alcoholic beverage research, is
playing a key role in the brewer's effort to publicize the
health benefits of beer consumption by delivering lectures
to groups of medical journalists. Dr. Stampfer's credentials
on the issue are nothing short of stellar. He is the author
of more than 50 research papers measuring the health
implications of moderate drinking, which has been found to
be associated with lower rates of heart attack, diabetes and
other ailments.

A-B hopes his message will help boost sales
because between 1995 and 2004, beer's share of the overall
U.S. alcoholic-beverage market fell to 58 percent from 61
percent, while wine's share grew to 14 percent from 12
percent. The brewers' plight is attributed to several
factors, including the low-carb diet trend and a penchant
for customized cocktails among younger drinkers. However,
Anheuser is convinced that a widespread perception that the
apparent health benefits of moderate alcohol consumption
spring mostly from wine is also behind the slump. "There is
a prevailing fallacy that wine is healthy and beer is not,"
W. Randolph Baker, Anheuser's chief financial officer, told
analysts last month.

Stress And How It Affects Your Physical Body
A Few Ideas To Enhance Your Fitness Level.
PART 1 of 9

When I write these articles, I try to determine what the reader
is like. From my information requests, you are part of a very
diverse group. My intent is to "translate" the medical
terminology and world into common language. But it is also to
give some helpful, practical suggestions to make life a little
more fun and liveable for anyone! However, in many of the
requests, I sense an additional but not formalized "hint".
Stress! If you are healthy, your life moves forward the way you
choose it to be. You can deal with stress, but in an "unwell"
situation, you are often at the "mercy" of a kind-hearted
person. And sometimes with that, problems appear. It affects
your decision-making abilities and your independence. In your
need to "lean" on another person, the boundaries you have set up
for yourself are often ignored. And stress always accompanies a
problem. So I would like to address a few of these "invisible"
but very real issues and make some suggestions. Hopefully, you
have created boundaries already. I hope you won't ever have to
use them.but they are ready to be defended.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

your favorite bookstore. ISBN # 1-4137-4723-X

"That's how you came to live by higher law. I wondered
how you found the way."

"AliAnn, I was placed in a situation where I knew not
the ways of the land. There was no one around to help me. I
found I was getting the right answers in my meditations and
the more I listened the more power and knowledge I gained.
By the time Sien showed up I was quite ready to take the
final step across the veil of simplicity."

"I'm impressed, Mom. You are a gutsy lady."

"I'll take that as a compliment AliAnn, but you realize
a lot of people would have done the same, even you, had you
been placed in that condition. It was a matter of learning
the way to survive and doing the things you had to do to
live. Soon I learned the way and life has been fantastic
ever since. It was right around then that Boolanga came into
the picture."

"I don't understand. How did Boolanga get involved?"

"Boolanga was the reason I met your Father. Boolanga had
been out on a hunting trip. He tied his canoe to a tree and
went inland. It was during the rainy season. There are some
places the water can rise as much as ten feet in a day
during the rainy season, Ali, and that's what happened to
Boolanga. He had tied his canoe to a tree, expecting it to
be there when he returned, but the water had come up enough
to break his tie down and the canoe got away. He was now on
foot.

I knew there was a person around, watching us. I went
into my meditations and discovered it was a man and that the
man was not offering us any danger. In fact he was scared of
us, at least once he saw Midnight. No one in this land has a
black jaguar as a pet. That frightened him. Finally I
decided to put out food for him one night. The next morning
the food was gone. I put out food twice a day for him and it
was gone. Finally, I decided to put out food for him and
watch. I saw where he was going, so one day I put out food
for him and went to where he went. It surprised and scared
him. It might have been easier on him if I were a man, but a
woman, with a big black cat as a friend? That was something
to fear.

I persuaded him to come join us and eat with us. He did
so, reluctantly. He stayed at the outer edge of our
compound, and he slept outside where he could easily get
away. It took him a very long time to warm up to Midnight,
but once he did they were nearly inseparable. That's why
Midnight stayed with him in the village. They were very
close. It was a real blow to Boolanga when Midnight died."

"It was a blow to all of us, Mom. We all loved Midnight.
She was a beautiful cat."

"She was a loving and dear friend, Ali. Anyway, the
rainy season was on us and this whole meadow was flooded. We
couldn't go anywhere or do anything much until the rains
quit. Then one day Boolanga and David decided they would
build a canoe. Boolanga went out one day scouting out a good
tree and a good site where they could build this canoe. It
was right behind the hut, over there. You can still see the
ends of the tree they cut off, plus all the wood chips."

The kids went to have a look. So this is where that
first canoe came from. "Look you can see how big that tree
was and all the work they did. Wow!" Sammy was impressed.

"Then what happened, Mom?"

"It took nearly three months to build that first canoe.
The boys worked on it as much as they could. They wanted it
to be large enough to carry the three of us plus some
freight. They kept taking the edge off their machetes, so I
manifested that stone David uses to sharpen his knives. I
kept the boys in cool water and food. They hadn't really
caught on to the idea I was now living by higher law. They
knew I was, but they didn't want to believe. They thought it
was some kind of witchcraft. They accepted the food and
water, but they looked at me kind of strange. David hurt
himself again. So did Boolanga. I had to use higher law to
render both of them whole again. Still they didn't know what
was up.

Then, one day, I started talking with Boolanga on the
subject. As I was talking with him I kept him so busy he
didn't see or notice what I was up to. I slowly maneuvered
us out onto the lake that covered the meadow. He didn't
realize, until I showed him."

"What happened then, Mom?"

"He got scared, Ali, and he sank immediately. He began
swimming, but then realized he better not make any noise to
attract piranha. He looked at me with fear in his eyes. I
held out my hand and he again came up to the top of the
water. He held my hand for quite a while, but slowly I was
able to encourage him to let go. Finally he saw he could
walk on water. He began to develop confidence. He knew I was
not going to hold his hand all the way back to shore. We
made it back and from that day he became insatiably
interested in higher law, a good thing, too. Did you know it
was Boolanga who finally taught your Dad?"

"No, Dad. That right?"

"It is, Son. Let your Mom finish. This is quite a
story."

"Go ahead, Mom."

"Bit by bit I showed Boolanga how he, too, could live by
higher law. He began to see and finally he stepped across
the veil of simplicity. That got David a bit jealous. All
the time I was working with Boolanga meant he wasn't helping
David with the canoe. But we did both. Now, Boolanga and I
both knew we could get to our homes, safely, without any
canoe, but we had David there so we had to keep up with
man's way of doing things. That was fine because it was
while doing that canoe, and succeeding, that David finally
came into his own.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

Abeyance: What is the reason we say that something held up
is "Held in abeyance"/

It's because "abeyance" literally means "hold your mouth
open." The word comes from the French bayer, "to gape," and
the allusion is to those who while waiting for something to
happen stand with their mouths open.

HA! HA! HA!

Fred, Jim, and Scott were at a convention together and were
sharing a large suite on the top of a 75-story skyscraper.

After a long day of meetings, they were shocked to hear that
the elevators in their hotel were broken and they would have
to climb 75 flights of stairs to get to their room.

Bill said to Jim and Scott, "Let's break the monotony of
this unpleasant task by concentrating on something
interesting. I'll tell jokes for 25 flights, Jim can sing
songs for the next 25 flights, and Scott can tell sad
stories for the rest of the way."

At the 26th floor, Bill stopped telling jokes and Jim began
to sing. At the 51st floor, Jim stopped singing and Scott
began to tell sad stories.

"I will tell my saddest story first," he said. "I left the
room key in the car!"
