How many kinds of beetles are there?

The British geneticist J.B.S. Haldane once commented that
the Creator has "an inordinate fondness for beetles." That's
because there are more kinds of beetles on this planet than
kinds of anything else. Scientists estimate that there are
more than 350,000 different types of beetles. At least one
scientist has estimated that beetles account for a MILLION
of the earth's six million animal species.

Is it true that there are aquatic beetles?

Beetles live pretty much everywhere, all corners of the
globe, and even underwater. There are about 5,000 different
"diving" beetles that spend nearly all of their lives in the
water.

Online Newspaper Readership Climbs
by Wendy Davis

SIXTEEN PERCENT OF ADULTS IN Canada read an online
newspaper each week last year--up from 10 percent in 2001,
according to a new report by the Newspaper Audience
Databank, Inc., the research arm of the Canadian Daily
Newspaper industry. Last year alone, readership of online
newspapers grew by 12 percent, according to the report, with
the national newspapers drawing the largest traffic.

But that surge doesn't mean that people are shying away from
print versions. In fact, 85 percent of adults who read
newspapers on the Web also read the printed version,
according to the report.

"Only 2 percent of total weekly newspaper readership is to
online editions, the balance of online readers are switching
between the two formats," states the report.

A recent Nielsen//NetRatings report examining online
newspapers in the United States revealed comparable growth
in traffic. Nielsen//NetRatings stated that Web sites of
newspapers drew 39.3 million visitors in October--marking an
11 percent increase from October of 2004.

When it came to demographics, both Nielsen//NetRatings and
Newspaper Audience Databank reported that online readers are
more likely to be male and highly educated.
Nielsen//NetRatings specifically found that online readers
are more likely than the general Internet population to have
a bachelor's or postgraduate degree.

Stress And How It Affects Your Physical Body
A Few Ideas To Enhance Your Fitness Level.
PART 4 of 9

Conversely, everyone else in your world is unique. Just as you
have your own thoughts, feelings, experiences, they are entitled
to their own "personality". How does this affect you? It gives
you the right to make your decisions with your knowledge. No one
has the right to do that for you. Of course in some
circumstances, for a "dependent person" this wouldn't apply, but
for the vast majority it applies. So each person is allowed to
be "unique". Why is this important? You will often find someone
making plans for you or expecting you to fall in with their
ideas. They mean well, but. If you are obliged to go along
without being a part of the decision, stress follows.

You might see yourself in either of the two characters in the
following example.
It's Friday afternoon and you are tired. A happy, exuberant
co-worker bounces in to your office and suggests you both clean
out the storage unit before you go home. All you want to do is
to clean up and go home! Imagine your inner conflict!
Or can you see yourself more often in this example? You have
just hugged the last child goodbye and are ready to put your
feet up. Your spouse comes in the door, waves his brand new gift
certificate in the air, and asks you to go the sporting mega
store "as soon as you are ready"! He needs "your advice and good
judgement". :) Now what do you do? How can you be make decisions
to suit your needs? You need to know that you are entitled to
your own feelings and decisions. We don't have slaves in North
America any longer, but sometimes I wonder. Still, there are
many, many people who feel they have no choices...they have to
do whatever someone tells them. They must obey everyone...except
themselves. And there are many people who feel others shouldn't
have any choices. In some cultures, even a child has more power

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------

"Here I was now a married woman. I was euphoric with
happiness and I loved your Dad so much I didn't ever want
him to leave me, not even for a trading trip, or to go
hunting.

Then I was laying there in bed wondering how things
would work out because of me living by higher law and your
Dad did not. The more I thought about that the more worried
I became about it. I didn't want to end up doing things so
easily with higher law, yet have him feel slighted because
it was something he should or felt he should be doing. I
realized I would have to be careful."

"That would not have been good, Mom. Even I know that
and I'm not married."

"No, AliAnn, but you do live by higher law and such
knowledge as this comes quickly to those who live by the
law. Once you step across the veil of simplicity you have
knowledge not available to you before, so even at your young
age you know these things. Furthermore, when you live by
higher law these human emotions and feelings are no longer
as important as they are to those who know not the way. So
you have escaped a lot of frustration by learning higher
law when you are young."

"I guess that's it, but what did you do? Did you talk to
Dad about it?"

"No, AliAnn, I decided to wait. I wanted to think it
through a little more. Anyway we finally got out of bed that
first day. It was sunny and bright out. We didn't dress in
much, just enough to be modest. We wanted to lay on the
beach and enjoy one another.

We lay there talking about marriage, kids, what we
wanted to do with our lives, all that stuff. Finally we got
too hot to lay there anymore. I was going to set up a
climate zone around us, but I thought better of it, waiting
to see what your Dad was going to do.

He stood up, saying he had enough heat for the moment.
He reached down to take my hand to help me up and we
brushed the sand off each other.

Then he asked if I remembered he had told me he had a
special wedding present for me. I said yes but I thought he
would give it to me when he was ready. He figured now would
be as good a time as any.

He asked me to come, let's go see and he again held out
his hand to me. The very instant I touched his hand we were
standing in the living room of Grandma and Grandpa's house
in Pinehill.

I was thrilled to death. I screamed in joy and
happiness. Here, all the while your Dad had learned higher
law and kept it from me. I had no idea he had learned. I was
so thrilled and happy I was truly beyond words. I just
grabbed him and hung on.

What a wonderful wedding present. No one could have a
better present. Here we were both able to live by higher
law. We were equally yoked. We could both do the same
things. I didn't have to worry about all the concerns I had
that morning. I was overwhelmed. I kissed and kissed him
until he couldn't take anymore."

"Women. All the want to do is kiss." Sammy was playing
the teenage role and he knew it. His Mom slapped him on his
shoulder. He feigned pain and laughed.

"Then it hit me. Your Dad couldn't do this without help.
There were many in on the scheme. Boolanga, who worked with
him for one. Then I knew my folks knew. That's why they
agreed to my marriage without even so much as a concern.

I looked at your Dad and scolded him. You big cheat, you
had a bunch of cohorts in on this one didn't you. I never
had a clue. How did you keep it from me? How did everyone
keep it from me? Oh! You're wonderful. A girl couldn't ask
for a better gift. I love you."

Right there at the old dilapidated hut she looked at her
husband and mouthed the silent words "I love you."

He winked at her.

"Wasn't that a perfect wedding gift?" She was asking the
kids.

"Yes, Mom. It was." said AliAnn.

"Us guys just know what you gals want. My Dad's smart."
Sammy was getting on his male chauvinist attitude because he
knew it always provoked a response. It did. His Sister and
his Mother both attacked him. "Enough already." He yelled.
They let him go. "You're right Mom, that was a perfect
gift."

"So, kids. That is how I came to learn higher law, came
to live in our village and came to meet and marry your
Father. This place here was a very important part of that
whole picture. Sometimes I miss this place."

"That's quite a story, Mom. We had no idea that is where
you came from or how it happened. What about you, Dad. Do
you have anything to add?"

"Not much Sammy except to say that even at a young age
your Mother carried herself with a royal air. She was not
above anyone, but she sure cared for everyone she met. She
trusted, loved and aided all she saw. I fell in love with
her the moment I saw her but I thought it was an impossible
relationship. I never, ever, thought we would be together
although I wanted that more than anything. I felt your
Mother was given me as a gift from my Maker. Then, when I
learned Boolanga knew higher law I made him show me. I
wanted to be equal in all respects with your Mother. I had
been thinking and working to that end anyway. I just didn't
have the final steps down. It took me many lifetimes to get
this far, kids. Your Mother was the catalyst I needed to
make the final step.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

Accost: What is the reason a person who speaks to you
without introduction is said to "accost" you?

It's because he usually sidles up to you. The Latin word for
"side" is costa- and "accost" literally means "at the side".
