The Saga of Pinehill, The Adventure - a many faceted read

Didn't the group worry about poisoning the American guards

How many Nazis were killed by this attack?

What is a vexillologist?
A vexillologist is an expert in the history of flags. Good
to know there's a word for just about everything.
Who poisoned thousands of Nazi prisoners immediately
following World War II?
The little-known "Avengers," a Jewish guerilla group formed
by Abba Kovner to bomb German transports and outposts during
World War II, plotted immediately following the war to
poison 8,000 Nazis imprisoned at Stalag 13 in Nuremberg.
Avenger member Lebke Distel obtained a job at a bakery
supplying bread to the prison camp. He secretly stashed
bottles of arsenic in the floorboards for days, then snuck
in two additional members who worked all night to paint the
poison on 9,000 loaves of bread. The group didn't finish,
but they poisoned thousands of loaves.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!
In Canada, men are three times more likely than women to
have seen a doctor in the last year.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------
It's All In Your Point Of View!
The two teenagers were arrested . The arresting officer told
them they were entitled to a phone call.
Some time later, a man entered the station and the sergeant
said, "I suppose you're the kids' lawyer."
"Nope," the chap replied. "I'm just here to deliver them a
pizza."
If that were you or I in jail like these teenagers we would
be mortified. It would represent a catastrophe to us, and
you can bet our call would not be to a Pizza Parlor.
Such is life. As we progress we change our thinking, and our
priorities.
It is not important whether the teens called home or not.
Our argument does not fulcrum on whether they did right or
not.
What we are concerned with here is the attitude one carries
through life. The older we become the more likely the more
uptight we become. Why?
Someone once said "Don't take life so seriously. You won't
get out of it alive anyway!"
There is wisdom in that little quip. The medical community
has long known that stress, alone, kills people by the
hundreds of thousands. That is a true statement. Stress
kills people by the hundreds of thousands. It is THE major
contributor to poor dietary practices, cancer, heart
problems, strokes and diabetes.
Maybe a little frivolity should come into every life. Maybe
we should once more learn to laugh, play and fool around
like we were teens again. The business of being serious at
all times in all things is a deadly business.
Detach from what you think is important. Take a little
breather from it on a regular basis. Learn to philosophize a
little on the comings and goings in life.
Most of all LEARN TO RELAX. Yes, I yelled at you. It is that
critical for your well being.
Remember how lazy and relaxed you feel early in the morning
before you get out of bed. Your body is calm, as is your
mind, and you feel great. Learn to become that relaxed
anytime in the day you decide. You will find things go
better and you will actually become healthier.
Think on these points if you would enjoy the fruits of your
labors. Working hard all your life to gain financial freedom
only to find that when you have it you cannot enjoy it,
because of poor health, is not a nice way to live life.
Just think. The next time you're in jail, call the Pizza
Parlor.

Stress And How It Affects Your Physical Body
A Few Ideas To Enhance Your Fitness Level.
PART 5 of 9
In a conscientious, knowledgeable decision-making process, you
need to understand the concept of "cause and effect". Along with
this goes the right for you to have boundaries. These are rules
for different situations: positive and negative ones. They are
decisions you have already made that won't violate your personal
values and intentions. You will really be out of sync with your
relaxed and healthy state without them. Can you imagine how your
body reacts to being confronted with a request to clean a
storage unit or go to a warehouse store when it's the very last
thing you want to do? And unless you have a lot of confidence
and courage, you will be torn between your desires and theirs.
And who looses? You do because chances are you don't want to
upset anyone. If you go home, you will be angry and very tired
and upset (mostly with yourself). If you don't help, you may
feel guilty and a bit fearful of any unpleasantness that might
follow. Neither way do you win. Do this a few times, and you can
picture how stressed your body is on a fairly frequent basis.
But as you can't say anything, it simply eats away at you
silently...a good start for major health challenges. This is
"cause and effect" in real life.
So what is the answer or part of a solution? I suggest you make
some rules for yourself and set some boundaries. It's a given
that anyone will try to get around them, but with time,
confidence, and consistency, they won't succeed: you will. So if
we go back to the example of the Friday afternoon cleaning
"proposal", it could be handled by offering to help the
following week when you are prepared. Then you could allow
enough time and wear proper clothing. You still haven't turned
them down flat, but you made a choice that looked after your
needs as well as their desires. You would also feel much more in
control. That would eliminate a lot of frustration. Furthermore,
you would retain the goodwill of the friend or co-worker.
Recognize too, that sometimes you get set up for these things
just to see how far you can be pushed. In the case of your
spouse's brand new gift certificate and the need for your
expertise, you know all that will keep till the following week
at least. Maybe you could incorporate it into a small family
celebration or by all doing something together. A happier and
energetic "you" would contribute more joy than the tired wreck
who needed a chance to rest its feet.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.
The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------
I had been able to live by higher law for quite a while
before we were married. That is how I was able to speak with
your Grandpa and get his permission. Once he knew I lived by
higher law he knew the pair of us could work everything else
out. He agreed happily. Then I asked him to keep it from
your Mom. That was hard work. There were a couple times we
nearly let the secret out. But anyway it all worked out
fine."
"How did you keep it from her?"
"It was tough, but back then your Mom would believe
anything I told her. She was gullible." Mazunta laughed and
ducked all at the same time. He knew what was coming.
Sure enough Eloise went to slug him and missed. Laughing
she quickly got up and jumped on him. Then the fight was on,
just like in the days when they were first wed.
The kids loved it and cheered their Mom or their Dad on
depending on what side they took.
Maz allowed Eloise to beat him. She had him on his back
and was sitting on his chest, with her knees on his arms so
he couldn't move them. "Now Mr. Toughguy, let me hear you
say uncle."
"Uncle, uncle." Maz hollered in fake pain and humility.
It was a fun time for them all.
Eloise got off him and let him up.
"So, guys, I think its lunch time and maybe we should
get back. What do you say?"
"Yeah! I'm getting hungry." Sammy had the never ending
appetite of a teenage boy.
They didn't have to go back to the village to eat, of
course, yet the purpose of this trip was concluded and home
was the logical place to be.
"Mom, why don't we invite Uncle Tim and Aunt Sharon for
lunch. We haven't seen them for a while, only at that
function for Auntie Riata."
"That's a good idea AliAnn. Your Dad and I saw them
there, too, but didn't spend much time with them. I'll send
the message."
It didn't take Tim and Sharon long to get there. It
really happened fast for two reasons. They were sitting at
home at that moment with not much going on for the day and
secondly, they truly loved being down here in the village.
They were actually considering living here but they did not
have the motivation David did or Eloise did.
"Hi Guys! Thanks for asking us down here. We were just
wondering what you folks were up to."
They all sat around the small fire in front of the hut
and chewed away on their meal in between all the talking
that was going on. They had a good time. They enjoyed one
another's company.
"So what were you up to today, AliAnn?" Sharon had a
special place in her heart for AliAnn. The two of them had a
bond between them.
"We had a neat morning, Aunt Sharon. Mom showed us where
she came to this country and told us the whole story. We saw
where they used to fish, the house they built, where they
built their first canoe. We saw where she found Midnight and
Tiger, all of it. Mom's a pretty gutsy lady."
"I know, Ali. The whole family is. This Henry bunch you
have to look out for you know. I imagine your Dad is the
same."
"I think so. He's a brave man. Maybe that's why the
village chose him as their leader. He will always put
himself in danger before others. Of course that's not so bad
what with living by higher law, but the others see the
principle."
"Hey, I didn't welcome you to higher law. Way to go."
"Oh! It was easy really. Mom and Dad had us all taught
in the concepts and principles, but it was Grandpa who
forced the issue. He put us into a situation where we had to
make a choice and make it fast. We chose higher law."
"What did he do?"
"He took us over to see Sonora in Africa. She lives on a
hill overlooking the plains of the Serengeti. It was
beautiful. Sammy and I ran down the hill to go look at all
the animals. Just as we got to the bottom we tripped and
fell and at that same moment a lioness was coming for us.
She thought we looked like good lunch I guess. We weren't
afraid of big cats. We lived with Midnight in the village
for years. But we also knew we had to project love toward
the animal and we did. From that moment the lioness halted
her charge and all was well. Also from that moment both
Sammy and I knew we had chosen to live by higher law. We
"knew".
"It seems your Grandpa is a wise man."
"He knew what would happen and if it didn't he would
have caused something to happen. He realized that with all
the training we had the time had come for us to act, for it
is only when one applies the knowledge that total acceptance
takes place. Maybe that's why they had him installed into
the Temple of the White Brotherhood."
"I think you are right, dear. From there he can serve
mankind in a much more global sense. I am sure glad I set my
sights on your Uncle Tim. It took me quite a while to learn
higher law and I caused him all sorts of trouble along the
way, but those Henrys don't give up. I'm glad I'm a member
of the family."
"I'm glad, too, Aunt Sharon."

TOMORROW - - - Now what?
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
WHY DO WE SAY IT?
Achilles' Heel: Why do we use the phrase "Achilles' heel" to
refer to a man's vulnerable spot?
Because Achilles' vulnerable spot was his heel. According to
Greek mythology, Thetis, the mother of Achilles, dipped him
into the river Styx in an attempt to render him
invulnerable. Unfortunately, she help him by his heel as she
did so. And thus he heel became his one vulnerable spot.
Achilles died of a wound received from an arrow shot into
his heel.
