So why aren't most lakes and rivers salty then?
Even lakes and rivers have small amounts of salt
picked up from minerals dissolved in the water. The
reason the oceans have so much more is because
the salt STAYS there. The only way water leaves the
oceans is through evaporation. When water evaporates,
though, it leaves behind the minerals, including salt,
that came with it. You can see this yourself: Place a
glass of salt water out in the sun for several weeks
and eventually the water will evaporate. The salt
will remain.
Do the oceans get saltier and saltier every year?
It seems logical that the oceans should be getting
saltier all the time, but the fossil record indicates that
isn't happening. That's the one big problem with the
rock and mineral theory. Various chemical and
biological processes might remove salts from
seawater in the amounts necessary to keep the
ocean salinity in balance. It has also been theorized
that the salt comes from somewhere else. Scientists
have noticed that the chemical composition of river
water and salty inland lakes is NOT similar to that of
the oceans. River water salts are mostly calcium and
bicarbonate ions, while seawater salts are primarily
chloride and sodium. It's likely that SOME salt is
washed into oceans, but that the rest comes from
deep sea vents and underwater volcanoes.

Check and Double Check!

Catherine, a RN, was unhappy with her job, so she
submitted her resignation. She was sure she'd have
no trouble finding a new position, because of the nursing
shortage in her area.
She e-mailed cover letters to dozens of potential
employers and attached her resume to each one.
Two weeks later, Catherine was dismayed and
bewildered that she had not received even one
request for an interview.
Finally she received a message from a prospective
employer that explained the reason she hadn't heard
from anyone else.
It read: "Your resume was not attached as stated.
I do, however, want to thank you for the vegetable
lasagna recipe."
And that is the way life goes when we make mistakes
of which we are unaware.
I don't know how many times I have done this and
I'll bet you have made similar mistakes as well.
Oh well! That's life. Yet is does point out the need
to concentrate on what we are doing at the time we
are doing it, doesn't it.
Even then, we end up with spelling errors and
other little goof ups that turn people away from a web
site, or a newsletter, or an article.
I had an article sent to me the other day that was
purportedly from a motivation specialist. It was so full
of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors I found
myself having to work very hard trying to convince
myself this woman was who she said she was.
It is unfortunate, but true, that simple misuse of the
language can even cast doubt on not only your
credentials, but your credibility as being genuine.
While the worst person in the world to proof things is
the person who created it, you must proof, proof, proof.
Even when I do I end up with spelling mistakes that
others, thankfully, let me know about. If you are writing
an article, or putting up a web page or putting together
an ad, have someone else proof read it for you. It
will save a lot of grief.
Never forget that even when you do things right ninety
five percent of the time it might be that ever important
five percent that fails to get the results you are looking
for, like the nurse with her resume.

Drug Interactions Or Side Effects:
Not To Be Taken Lightly Or
Ignored Altogether

If you are already on some sort of medication, chances are the
attending physician won't know you, or be familiar with your
medical history. There is never enough time for them to read
your history or to check for drugs. You are simply prescribed
something for the "presenting" condition.
If you are already on something for this "presenting condition" and
now given another medication, that makes two. And if you have
side effects from one, could you maybe have more from the next
one? And what does it do to your body? When I am asked to do
this type of search, it is usually with some underlying question
or reason.
In most cases, it's because they already have interactions or
side effects, and can't tolerate the product. But they are not too
keen to go back to their clinic and ask to be given something else.
For example, you go with the "complaint" of dizziness, and you
are prescribed something that should help. But many of those
drugs already have dizziness as a side effect. So now you have
the original complaint and the new side effect. But unless you
are savvy about doing this kind of search, you won't know
anything about side effects until after you have paid for the
prescription. A little late.
Nowadays, some people are given a "drug combination". So now
you need to compare all these for possible interactions. A very
challenging, time consuming, and frustrating job! Do a search
sometime. You will find many medications have side effects of
dizziness.
My friend was also prescribed another batch of drugs
for her second condition. Alas, two of those said they shouldn't
be taken with the other condition's drugs! And the calcium
product was not to be taken with some of these. So how was she
to know what to take? All she knew was that she was dizzy and
the drugs were seemingly making her dizzier! And at 73, she is a
bit intimidated to ask "her" doctor to help her sort all this
out.
Each time I spoke with her, the previous doctor had left
that clinic, and the new one didn't know her situation. One of
her conditions had to do with sinus congestion. For that she
took some "over the counter" meds or "OTC". Did anyone know?
Nope! So here was another set of possible complications.

David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

The kids were having their usual rollicking game of ball
on the beach. One of them kicked the ball and it
rebounded off another player. The force of the kick made
the ball go out onto the river, and it began to float away.
Then Amenti saw a man run after the ball. He ran out on
top of the water and caught up with the ball and picked
it up. Amenti just watched. This was still all new to him.
That is my friend Boolanga. It will not be long before his
three children will do that also. It is still new to you isn't it?
Do you think you can walk on water?" asked Mazunta.
With calm confidence Amenti answered "Yes."
"Good. That is what I like to hear. There are many things
you can do now Amenti and they will serve you, the
orphans, and all of mankind." Mazunta reminded him,
"Come, let's meet Boolanga."
The walked over to where Boolanga was standing,
watching the ball game. He saw them approaching.
"Hello Amenti, welcome. It is good to have you on the team.
I understand Riata is here, too. It is good to have
you." said Boolanga.
"All of you know my name when no one told you. Even
Mr. David did just a few minutes ago. How is that?" asked
Amenti.
"We are always aware of what is happening around us
Amenti. That is how I knew you were here and that is
how I know Riata is visiting Missy. You will find yourself
becoming more aware of your surroundings, too, as you
learn to look. It comes with practice and need. Because
you live, now, more in the spiritual sense than in the
material sense you have a much greater capacity to know
things than you did before. It will all come." said Boolanga.
"Thank you, and thank you for your welcome. This is a
whole new world to me." answered Amenti.
"Sure it is. You should have seen the first day Missy took
me out on the water to show me I could do it. I was just
a newcomer then and I was much afraid. You are as a
child in this new world Amenti, You will grow to maturity
very quickly, but, today, you are just learning all these
things. Enjoy and whatever you do always be aware of
the law 'As ye sow, so shall ye reap.' You must never
again think any thought of ill, prejudice or mean, toward
any thing in this earth. You must accept things as they
are and if they need changing, change them. Do not
pronounce then good or bad. They just are." said
Boolanga.
"Today, Amenti, you stood up to reporters who were very
aggressive. Under any other circumstances they would
have walked all over you. Yet you were determined to
stop their rude and rough behavior. And you "knew" you
were not going to let them into the orphanage or near
the shrine ahead of those who had waited all night. That
"knowing" is the power that caused you to step through
the veil and into the light of knowledge. That "knowing"
is what brought you here, though you had never traveled
that way before. And it is that "knowing" that will cause
you to live your life by higher law." said Mazunta.
"I am learning this. It feels as if it is something inside me
that is suddenly released and is making its way into every
cell of my being. I am feeling a "growing" inside me almost
as leaven in a loaf of bread." said Amenti.
"Good. That is how it should be. Come, let's walk across
the river." said Mazunta.
The three of them began to walk toward the water.
Amenti's mind was racing. He "saw" himself walking
on the water, and with his first step he was fine.
As the men walked, they talked. By the time they had
crossed the river, which was still over a mile wide from
the rains, they had covered a wide range of topics,
stressing always the need to love all things at all times
without let up.
Amenti learned a lot and felt accepted as he had never
felt accepted before. He was "home". "Home" was not a
place but a condition. He would always be on the same
wave length, the same page so to speak, as his new
found friends.
"I sense that Reeny is here, with Mrs. Eloise and Riata."
said Amenti, out of nowhere.
"That is right, Amenti. Your sensitivity is growing and
your awareness keeps you informed of what is happening.
That's good. Shall we go see her?" asked Boolanga.

The commanding officer was furious when nine GIs
who had been out on passes failed to show up for
morning roll call. Not until 7 p.m. did the first man
straggle in. "I'm sorry, sir," the soldier explained,
"but I had a date and lost track of time, and I missed
the bus back. Being determined to get in on time, I
hired a cab. Halfway here, the cab broke down. I
went to a farmhouse and persuaded the farmer to
sell me a horse. I was riding to camp when the animal
fell dead. I walked the last ten miles, and just got here."
Though skeptical, the colonel let the young man
off with a reprimand. However, after him, seven
other stragglers in a row came in with the same
story--had a date, missed the bus, hired a cab,
bought a horse, etc. By the time the ninth man
reported in, the colonel had grown weary
of it. "Okay," he growled, "now what happened to
YOU?"
"Sir, I had this date and missed the bus back, so
I hired a cab..."
"Wait!" the colonel screeched at him. "Don't tell
me the cab broke down."
"No, sir," replied the soldier. "The cab didn't break
down. It was just that there were so many dead
horses in the road, we had trouble getting
through."
