Valentine's Day buying action! According to NRF
and BIGresearch, Valentine's Day spending in the
US will hit $12.79 billion in 2004, with consumers
buying gifts for everyone from spouses to teachers.

eMarketer's new Search Engine Marketing report
says US paid search ad spending growth peaked in
2003, but it will exceed one-third of all online ad
spending next year.
Senior Analyst David Hallerman says there are three
key points in understanding search marketing:
1. Search engine optimization is just as important
as paying for position, especially as the cost of
keywords rises.
2. When paying for clicks, consider contextual
search, but only when the value makes it competitive.
3. This year, search playersí focus on local search
will lead to improved searching and new revenue
opportunities. Expect this to attract a slew of local
advertisers who have until now havenít had
compelling options.
Online search's exceptional targeting capability is
why eMarketer expects advertising via paid search
to surpass $2.5 billion in 2004 and reach nearly
$3 billion by the end of next year. At that point,
nearly 35% of the total online ad spend will go
to search.

Agency execs freely admitted to being blown away
by Comcast's surprising and not-so-friendly offer to
acquire Walt Disney Co., but quickly turned their
attention to the potentially broad implications of the
deal--broadband, that is. With more than 20 million
subscribers, media buyers said the coupling of
Comcast's distribution with Disney's content could
be a catalyst for driving a broadband video
marketplace.
"Unbelievable," exclaimed Steve Farella,
president-CEO of TargetcastTCM. "The world is totally
upside down. It only goes to show that the power is
being shifted to the local cable operators, where
they've got the money and the pipeline into the home."
"Fundamentally," Farella adds, "the local systems
operators have an enormous advantage, but they
also have an enormous problem. The advantage is
that they are the pipe into the home. The problem is
that they are just regional; until they fix that, through
some kind of integration, national advertisers will
never take them seriously as a national advertising
play."
This Disney/Comcast thing is inevitably going to
change the way some things happen on the net. It
will be interesting to watch the future.

Your Skin: A Really Close
Friend Under Scrutiny

CALLUSES are the hardened or thickened parts of the
skin. So if you look closely at your elbow, or feel it, and
it's pretty dry and rough, it is said to be "calloused".
Normally, you would find this on the side your big toe,
or heel. Many people who work hard with their hands
have calluses all over their fingers and hands. The nerve
endings have somehow been quieted, as they don't hurt
when rubbed or stubbed. They look "very interesting"
under scrutiny. Because there is little blood circulating
in that area, you can really see the lines and configuration
of all the parts of the skin.
DANDRUFF is an excessive amount of dry scaly material
coming off the skin, especially on the scalp. It comes off
in small white or grayish scales.
HIVES or "urticarial" wheals are the solid lumps arising
out of the skin's LAYERS. It usually happens after a bee
or wasp sting, or a reaction to an undesirable drug or
injection. (In our flu vaccination clinics, we watch very
closely for any sign of this.) If it's on your hand, you might
find your entire hand swelling to very large proportions.
This can be a very dangerous situation for some people
and should be watched closely for major respiratory
difficulties. If you suffer from this possibility, you should
be working very closely with your doctor about antidotes
or preventative measures.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"You're right David. It's about time these two young ones
got to see their niece. In fact it has been a while since
Mom and I have been down there. I think we'll come too."
said Sam Henry.
"That would be terrific, Sam." responded David.
"I hear we are about to have another wedding. Oomano
and Romano were up here last week and invited everyone
they could think of. I think that will be a nice get together.
I'm looking forward to it." said Sam.
"They must have done the rounds then. They were in our
village last week, too. Yes, I think it's great. I think they will
make a good couple. It will be nice seeing everyone
together again." said David.
"What are you guys talking about?" asked Alewka.
"We were just chatting about Oomano's and Romano's
wedding. We are all looking forward to it. It should be a
wonderful get together. I also suggested that you and I
haven't seen Tinkerbell for a while. So I told David that
you and I would join the boys and go see our daughter."
answered Sam.
"That would be nice. I miss Eloise. And I bet that baby
is growing like a weed." said Alewka.
The doorbell rang. Sam got up to answer it.
There was a sudden stillness on the house. They all
sensed the doorbell ringing was something that
needed help.
"Ben! What are you doing here?" asked Sam, "My God,
man, what happened?"
Ben Striker, the big, strong, Chief of Police in Pinehill
was at the door. He was a white as a sheet.
"Sam, Helen slipped on some ice, fell and hit her head.
It's bad Sam. She needs help. She is in the hospital now.
Will you come?" asked Ben, terrified.
"You come with me, Ben. We want to get to her before
they begin to cut into her, if we can." said Sam as he
held out his hand.
Ben took it. Instantly they were at the hospital emergency
room where Helen was being tended. They were just
about to commence an operation on her.
Sam and Ben approached the door to the operating room
that was next to emergency.
"Wait, Mr. Striker. You can't go in there!" said a nurse
hurriedly approaching them.
Sam turned to face her and broadcast love, intensely.
She stopped "Oh!"
The nurse said nothing else. She knew something
special was up.
Sam walked through the doorway to the operating room.
He broadcast love and light as he moved forward.
"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!" yelled one of the Doctors.
As he turned to look he saw Sam. He put his instruments
down and backed away from Helen.
All other persons in the room backed away, and watched.
These people had heard about Sam Henry. None had
seen him do anything but the ruckus the church stirred
up a few years back had made Sam Henry a household
word.
As Sam approached, everyone in the room felt the love
he gave out. It was plain to them that all would be well,
and that this must be Sam Henry.
Sam walked to the end of the table, to Helen's feet. He
stood facing Helen. Raising his hands, palms toward
Helen he sent out a brilliant light unto all of her person.
"Helen. Rise up and walk." he said calmly, yet with such
authority the instruments on the nearby tray rattled.
There was a stillness. Then Helen opened her eyes and
raised her head. "Hi Sam. What are you doing here?"
she said, "Oh! My. What am I doing here?"
Helen had been unconscious and then sedated. It was
taking her a while to come around. Slowly she sat up,
taking the needles and tubes away from her. She realized
she was naked under the sheets they had draped around
her. Sam immediately clothed her. She pulled all the
sheets away.
