The Unspoken Secret to
Achieving Big Goals

Years ago I attended networking meetings. These
were usually breakfast or lunch business meetings
where people exchanged business cards and tried to help
each other get new clients.
I spoke at many of these events. What I quickly
noticed is that the same people seemed to be at the
same meetings. One observant friend said, "It's the
same people -- and they're all starving!"
That's when I first learned about the concept of
levels. That is, people tend to stay on the same level
of business or social status. When they meet friends,
it's usually in their circle of activity, whether
church, work, school, or some club. As a result, they
rarely get out of the level they are on.
That's not bad. You can stay on the level you are
at and do well. But if you want more, or if you find
yourself starving on the level you're at, you'll need
to go up a level or two.
When I was speaking at these networking events, I
was a notch above everyone in the room. This is not an
ego thing. It's a social perception. I was seen as
being at a slightly higher level than the audience
simply by nature of being the speaker. I was the
authority figure. As the higher teacher, I was elevated
a slight degree on their level.
But that's not good enough. If you want to achieve
big dreams in business, you need to step out of your
circle or network of peers and associates. You need to
go to a group with wider, stronger, richer connections.
You need to go up a level.
How do you do that?
In my case, my books brought me to the attention
of other circles of people, and higher levels of
networks.
For example, when I wrote "The AMA Complete
Guide to Small Business Advertising" for the American
Marketing Association back in 1995, I was immediately
put in a new level. I was now the author of an
important book for a prestigious organization.
This caused new people to contact me. Each of
these people had their own network of people. More
often than not, these networks were at a higher level
than anything I had ever touched before.
Here's another example: When I wrote my book on
P.T. Barnum, called "There's A Customer Born Every
Minute," for the American Management Association back
in 1997, I managed to get the attention of famous
tycoons Donald Trump and Kenneth Feldman. Clearly I had
been introduced to a new level.
If you want to succeed in phenomenal ways today,
you need to go up a level or two on the status scale of
networks. The good news is email makes this a snap to
begin. Anyone alive can be reached through email with
some persistence and cleverness. That's how I first
reached marketing superstar Jay Conrad Levinson,
direct mail legend Joe Sugarman, and even gonzo
daredevil Evel Knievel. I did it all by email.
People write me all the time for favors. I'm now
perceived as an expert, an authority, and an Internet
marketing pioneer. They want to associate their name or
product with me. I love to help people, so I usually at
least give people a chance. But I never endorse
anything without seeing, using and loving what they
have. This is important for me to maintain my level.
And now people write me from higher levels, too.
For example, Dr. Robert Anthony is a man I studied
twenty years ago. Last year he wrote me after reading
my "Spiritual Marketing" book. Today we're coauthors. I
just produced and recorded his legendary audioprogram,
"Beyond Positive Thinking." Two decades ago I was way
below his level. Today we're partners!
Keep in mind that going up a level is different
than thinking out of the box. You can be creative and
still stay on your current level. Brainstorming with
your neighbor is most likely different than
brainstorming with, say, Richard Branson, the
flamboyant owner of Virgin Records.
The point is this: To achieve goals you've never
achieved before, you may need to rise in levels and
participate with new people on a new playing field.
So the lesson today is to consider your current
level, consider your goals, and consider what people
outside of your network can help you achieve them. You
may have to step out of your level (and comfort zone)
to do it, but the step is well worth taking.
It would take an entire book to fully explain the
concept of levels. I don't have that space here. But
before I end this short article, let me offer a handful
of tips for going to a new level:
1. Write something of value new levels will admire.
This doesn't have to be a book. This very article may
introduce me to new levels. One of the main reasons my
name is known to a vast majority of people online is
due to the hundreds of articles I've written and
distributed (like this one you're reading) over the
last ten years. You can write articles, too.
2. Apply for membership in a prestigious organization.
When I joined the Society for American Magicians, a
very old club for professional magicians, I elevated my
position among magicians. Joining the right country
club or business group can do the same thing.
3. Create or join a master mind group. Napoleon Hill
strongly urged people to form master minds. The trick
to making them work is to be among people who are
already successful in the areas you want to succeed in.
Their presence will help elevate you.
4. Write to people in higher networks. When I was first
starting out as a writer, people way above me, such as
famed copywriter Bob Bly, helped me. In later years,
marketing gurus such as Murray Raphel and later Paul
Hartunian, all helped me. I simply wrote to them. They
sensed my sincerity and offered guidance. Today I do
the same for others.
5. Speak at associations or gatherings of people in
higher levels. You'll need to have something unique to
offer, but if you can deliver what these levels want,
you'll be welcomed into their fold.
Again, there is nothing wrong with the level you're
on. You don't want to forget your friends or burn your
bridges. I'm simply suggesting that if you have giant
goals and big dreams, it may be time to take the
elevator up a floor or two.

Keeping A Healthy Balance

It is an essential part of all living cells.
Potassium is a mineral similar to salt. It is
essential to many biological "reactions" including
the muscles contraction, energy release, and the
transmission of nerve impulses. so you can see
it's a real "essential". Potassium DEFICIENCY,
like TOO MUCH POTASSIUM, is to be avoided. If you
are eating a typical diet, you will get more than
enough. The potassium CONTENT of the adult body is
approximately 250 grams. A potassium intake
between 1875 and 5600 milligrams per day is
generally considered adequate for adults. The
average dietary intake of potassium is between
2000-3000 mg. Potassium is readily found in many
foods. Some potassium is also added in food
processing. The richest dietary sources are
unprocessed foods, especially fruits, many
vegetables, and fresh meats. As a form of medical
treatment in several conditions, it is not
uncommon for physicians to recommend salt
restriction and diuretics. Diuretics can produce
dramatic effects on urine output/excretion, but
may also result in salt or potassium depletion. It
is important to work closely with your doctor in
monitoring the intake of potassium. Routine blood
would be done to check the levels. You want to
make sure you are getting enough of it. I have
included a very shortened list of potassium-rich
foods. If you are like me, and like to nibble on
something while working (and thinking), make
yourself a selection of these and keep them in the
fridge. They won't go bad.
The first group has the highest 600mg content of
potassium: for: 12 dried apricot halves, 5 dried
peach halves, 1 cup of lima beans... 1 cup any
type) cooked legumes 1 cup cooked spinach, 1/2 cup
of raisins, AND salt substitute 1/4 tsp. The next
group has 400 mgms. per 3 ounces of chicken, or 3
ounces of cod or halibut, 1/2 cup cubed of
avocados, 1 medium banana, or 1 cup cubed
cantaloupe. Examples of 300 mgms of potassium-rich
foods are 1/2 cup of tomato juice 2 ounces of
mixed nuts (and who could stop at two ounces!!!),
2 ounces of cashews. When people are on diuretics,
and use the kind that is not "Potassium sparing",
they may experience "potassium depletion". It
occurs when the salt is withdrawn to reduce fluid
levels...ususally in the lungs, but takes the
potassium along with it. This would show up as
generalized weakness and a slower than normal
heart rate. And it's a bit hard to determine as
someone who has this condition would already be
weak and show little interest in their
surroundings. But it is more pronounced. Also the
doctor or health team would be aware that this
person is on this kind of drug...in the hospital.
At home, it's a bit more difficult to recognize.
So you would need to work closely with your
pharmacist and doctor.

"I'm not sure I want to call it an adventure, Mr. Sparks. I
really don't remember much about it, except there seems
to be some kind of fuss being stirred up." said Helen.
"Hello, Ben. Good to see you. My reporters behaving
themselves with police stories?" asked Darryl.
"Hi Darryl. They been behaving." said Ben.
Alewka arrived with coffee, and cream and sugar on a tray.
The men helped themselves to her offering.
"The news media from here and Philly are all over town
trying to dig up information on this story. You went and
did it again, didn't you Sam?" Darryl had a twinkle in his
eye.
"Darryl, Helen and Ben are friends of mine, as are you.
When a friend is in trouble I do something about it, just as,
I am sure, you would. Nothing more, nothing
less." answered Sam.
"I know Sam. It is just that you healed Helen here from
what the hospital thought was sure death. They have been
saying there is no way they could have caused Helen to
heal. She had broken her skull, in several places, lost a lot
of blood, and caused injury to her brain. If left to them, they
are saying Mrs. Striker would surely have died. They are
getting a little bit of the limelight, Sam, so I don't know how
much of what they are saying is true." said Darryl.
"It may all be true Darryl. Don't throw doubt on the town
medical facility. They try their best. This was simply a
"special" case." said Sam.
"Well, let me start at the beginning. Helen, tell me what
happened, as you know about it." said Darryl, taking out
his notebook.
Helen relayed the same story to him that she had earlier
told the women.
"Ben, how did you find out about it?" asked Darryl.
"Through the 911 service, Darryl. We monitor all those
calls. Once I realized it was in my neighborhood, I sent a
car out. They called back immediately telling me who it
was, and what the ambulance boys had told them. They
didn't hold out much hope for Helen, when they picked her
up. I came directly over here to Sam's because I knew Sam
could take care of everything." said Ben.
"It sure sounds like he did. And from what I can see of
Helen now it would appear as if nothing had happened.
All I can really tell you is that the hospital staff are in a
state of shock at what Sam did. And then he walked
around the emergency ward and healed everyone. The
emergency ward is empty now." Darryl reported.
"Darryl. This might be hard for you to understand. I did
not heal Helen. She did that. All I did was make energies
available to her so she could believe. When she felt those
energies invading her she could feel them renewing her.
Believing, she simply followed my commands, and sat
up. I merely saw her as being completely whole,
uninjured." said Sam.
"The doctors and nurses felt those energies too, Sam. They
are calling the whole thing a miracle." said Darryl.
"That is common from those who do not know higher law,
Darryl." said Sam.
"Sam, how do you do this? It is not common. I haven't
heard of it before, except with Eloise that time." asked Darryl.
"Everybody can do it Darryl. It is just that most folks don't
believe they can do it. In fact most folks don't think about
it at all. Then, for those who do, they are told it is foolish, by
the church, and they are heartily discouraged. In fact the
church even fired Jim White because he dared believe.
So what chance has a man? Unless he is very strong
and very determined, he will constantly be told he can't
do such things. Yet, in this room there are three people
quite capable of doing the work. And all my children are
capable. It is no big thing, Darryl. It is the way our Maker
wants us to live. It is only a choice a man must make.
That's all. Nothing more and nothing less." answered Sam.
"You mean to tell me any of three in this room could
have done the same? Who?" asked Darryl.
"Darryl, you're beginning to think there is something
sensational here. There isn't. Alewka would have gone
to the hospital and done the same, so would David
have gone. It is just that I answered the door. That's
all." said Sam.
