Do people conked on the head really see stars?
In cartoons, a person with gets conked on the head
generally collapses and sees starts rotate above his
head. In real life, that's not too far off the mark. A sharp
blow to the head CAN cause you to see flashes of light.
What happens is simple: the nerves in the eyes fire off
messages to the brain, just as they normally do in
response to light. In this case, there is no actual light,
but the brain interprets it that way since the messages
come from the eyes. You might say the brain is fooled
into seeing something that's not actually there.

Chickens Do Come Home To Roost!

The was a farmer who raised watermelons. He was
doing pretty well but he was disturbed by some local
kids who would sneak into his watermelon patch at
night and eat watermelons. . .
After some careful thought he came up with a clever
idea that he thought would scare the kids away for
sure. So he made up a sign and posted it in the field.
The next day the kids showed up and they saw his
sign: "Warning, one of the watermelons in this field
has been injected with cyanide."
Well the kids were bright and not about to risk another
watermelon. They ran off, made up their own sign and
posted it next to the sign that the farmer made.
The next day the farmer showed up to look over the
field and he noticed to his delight that no watermelons
are missing. He was perplexed, however, by a sign
next to his. He drove his tractor up to the sign which
read: "Now there are two!"
Every once in a while a joke comes along that points
out significant truth. This is such a joke.
One of the most difficult lessons we must learn in life
is "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." As children we can see
no correlation between our actions and what happens
to us. It is somehow unrelated.
Oh! We learn fast that if you touch a hot stove you will
get burned. Yet that does not really show us that if you
are angry at someone, they will naturally be angry at you.
After all you have a right to be angry, and you fail to see
where they, too, have a right, you can't see their reasoning.
Other personal relation type situations are the same.
You like to love and be loved, but somehow you think
that natural, because you like it. You don't look at the
law behind it, you just bask in the love. But when involved
in other situations, some of which you don't like, you
can't see where you played a part in bring them upon
you.
The law is "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." "The chickens
you send out are the chickens that will come home to
roost." "What goes around, comes around."
Only there is one thing you must learn, and hopefully
not the hard way. The chickens you send out, grow and
multiply. By the time they start coming home to you they
are always bigger, and there are more of them.
If you inadvertently use this law negatively, you will pay
a heavy price. If you knowledgeably use this law positively,
you can rightfully expect good things back.
One more thing. It must become a way of life. You cannot
expect to have many good things happen to you because
you did a good thing once. It must become a way of life
where you practice the law continually.

The Make Up Of Your Body And
How It Functions
PART 2 of 9
ANATOMY is the study, classification, and description of
structures and organs of the body.
PHYSIOLOGY is the study and process of the function of the
human. It is the study of the physical and chemical processes
involved in the functioning of the living organisms and their
component parts. When we talk about anatomy, we often also
discuss the function of it, so take care in understanding the
two parts. As you already know, disease doesn't have to be a
part of your life. If you want to either avoid it or eliminate
it, you need to know the true body first and its functions. Only
then can you make a change. Everything else is guessing and a
waste of your time and effort. Just like counterfeit money,
knowing the truth helps you recognize the "untruth" or false or
mistaken actions and beliefs.
As usual, I encourage you to do some more research. And
please don't take this article and wave it at your doctor and
ask for explanations. Use the best organ you have, your brain,
and start thinking for yourself. Ask yourself: What if? How can
I? Why does it? What do I need to find out? This is your starting
point. Move ahead, with knowledge and confidence. Until you
get a feeling for the make up of your body, you won't be able to
figure out its function.
Most books on the body have an atlas or a diagram. (Roadmap).
These usually present two genders: male and female. Why?
Because the bodies are similar in actions but not totally similar in
structure. All is identical except for the reproductive system:
each gender has its own. Being small or large boned or being
overweight or very tiny, doesn't really present a major
challenge. The underlying organs are essentially the same.
Generally the female body has smaller features.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

The two men set about cleaning up the old place, patching
it here and there, and fixing up the whole site so they
would have a place to call "home" for the next while.
"This is beautiful, isn't it?" said Sam.
"It is, Sam, and peaceful. I can see how it would be possible
to learn higher law here. There is nothing else to think
on." observed Ben.
"Ben, it will take you a couple days to settle down from city
life, maybe longer. You will go through many mental
gymnastics, among them boredom, before you get to that
point where you are ready to recommit yourself. You can
make this as hard on yourself or as easy on yourself as you
wish. Remember, the laws are in place. What you are really
learning is to trust they will work. You learned as a child that
if you touched a hot stove you would get burned. Now, you
are a child in higher law. You must learn the laws of higher
law and practice them even as you practiced the laws of
man. Action is as much necessary as knowledge. Here,
come. Let me show you." said Sam as he took Ben Striker's
hand.
Sam walked Ben to the water's edge. Then he kept going,
Sam walking on top of the water and Ben, now up to his
knees in it.
"You like being up to your knees in piranha infested waters,
Ben?" asked Sam.
Ben turned white and immediately made for shore.
"You didn't tell me these were piranha waters." he said.
"Why did you not walk on top of the water as I did, Ben?"
asked Sam.
"Sam, I can't walk on water, you know that." answered Ben.
"No, Ben, I don't know that. In fact I believe that is a lie. I
think you have been telling yourself that lie all your life.
And now you chose to lie to me, your friend." said Sam,
"Here, take my hand, and look me in the eye." he ordered.
Ben took Sam's hand and looked him in the eye as he
was told. Sam walked out onto the water, looking Ben in the
eye, all the while.
They walked out a distance of fifteen or twenty yards
before Sam stopped. Still looking Ben in the eye, he let
go of Ben's hand. He began to talk about casual subjects.
"This is a hot one today, Ben." said Sam.
"Y-y-yes, it is." said Ben, still looking Sam in the eye.
Ben was only too well aware he was walking on water,
something he had never done before. He was
apprehensive, to say the least. He was sure that if he
stopped looking at Sam Henry, then he would sink. His
speech was staccato, promoted mostly by his fear he
would sink.
"I wonder if we could fish in these waters, Ben?"
asked Sam.
"I-i-if w-w-we cccould, it would be a good source of
food." replied Ben.
Suddenly Sam moved. "My God Ben look at that!" he
exclaimed. "That cat is snooping around in our camp!"
It took Ben Striker by surprise and he whirled to see a
spotted jaguar snooping around the camp they just set
up. "What if he comes back tonight while we sleep? Is
it dangerous here, Sam?" asked Ben.
"No, Ben. That cat's name is Tiger. He is the son of
Midnight, whom you met in the village when Eloise
was married, remember? I think he'll be friendly." said
Sam.
Sam had engineered the whole conversation. Tiger
just happened along in time to be the subject Sam
could talk about. The suddenness and immediacy of
his conversation got Ben's attention onto something
other than himself and Ben forgot where he was.
Sam, casually and without any fanfare began to walk
toward the cat. "Let's go over there and see how
friendly he is."
"Are you sure he can be trusted?" asked Ben,
watching the cat.
The cat spotted them coming. Being familiar with
people he was not as skittish as other animals. Sam
was, of course broadcasting love both unto the cat and
unto Ben.
