Today we have two excerpts from eMarketer Daily. They
relate to the new and increasingly larger expansion of
wireless usage. The second article might alarm some
folks who think it reflects the flow of jobs out of North
America. Have a look at them and I'll give you my
thoughts after the articles.

Wi-Fi Awareness More Widespread - - -
26 February 2004
Nearly 60% of adults in the US are familiar with
Wi-Fi, reports Ipsos-Insight. Ipsos notes these
people, ages 18 and older, say they are familiar
with the technology when it is described as
gaining high-speed Net access on computers
with wireless connectivity. An even greater
number of respondents (72%) are familiar with
wireless home networking (WHN). Most
importantly for vendors and service providers
looking to grow the market, the number of people
familiar with both technologies has grown
significantly since 2003.
Ipsos surveyed 1,000 adults ages 18 and older
between the 2nd and 4th of this month, comparing
its results to a similar survey conducted in
January 2003. The 2004 survey determined that
while most adults do not plan to buy a Wi-Fi system
for their homes, 17% say they are either "very" or
"somewhat" likely to do so, growing from 14%
who said the same in 2003.

cutting is only the first benefit.
For many companies, offshore outsourcing is about
little more than saving costs on low-skill, labor-intensive
activities. Yet the leading offshore outsourcing
companies offer their Western clients superior
performance in high-skill business operations as
well. And as computer industry players such as
Dell, HP, and Gateway demonstrate, offshore
outsourcers can even be used to launch attacks
on adjacent product markets.
The take-away:
Offshoring is no longer just about call centers and
assembling products. It's about Western companies
using the sophisticated design and management
capabilities of their partners in the developing world
to go where they can't go alone.

With the expansion of wireless we are going to see
more and more devices and services change, expand,
improve, and take more money out of our pockets.
That is what happens as technology grows. To stay
current we must acquire new equipment, software,
knowledge and information. If we do not then we
end up being dinosaurs.
That has it's good points, in that it keeps the
economy fluid and vibrant, but many of us think that
once in a while it would be nice not to have to buy,
again. Oh well! That is the way the cookie crumbles.
The other story about offshore outsourcing is
interesting. On the surface I could see where one's
first reaction might be "Oh! Yeah! Here they go
exporting jobs again."
Well, I think we should relax. It has been many years
since North America was a manufacturing based
economy. We moved into an information based
economy a long time ago. We now "design" the
new goods and services. We create new technologies
and new methods. That the manufacturing segment
finds it less expensive to build products elsewhere
means that we get these goods and services for
less money. The computer is one good example.
We do the designing here in North America.
We create the new products and when they are made
for less money elsewhere then we get the advantage.
No we are not taking jobs away from the North
American work force. Those jobs were never there in
the first place. But what we do receive is many jobs
for those who are in the work of creating these new
technologies. We are the clear winners, all around.
It not only works out, in the end. It works out now.

It's Playback Time
After you turn off the macro recorder, you are ready to
test the macro. If your macro enters new text or deletes
some text as part of its actions, be careful where you
test it out. Be sure that the cell pointer is in a part of the
worksheet where existing cell entries won't be trashed
when you play back the macro. When you're ready to
test the macro, you can do any of the following:
You can choose Tools, Macro, Macros on the menu
bar or press Alt+F8 and then double-click the macro's
name in the Macro dialog box or select the name and
click the Run button. If, when you play back the macro,
you find it running amok in your worksheet, press
Esc to stop the macro.

But there is another important factor to remember. We
often hear that we start to deteriorate when we are born.
True enough. It's called the "aging process". It's normal
and natural. It starts at birth and ends in death. No one
can avoid it. But we can really prevent speeding up the
process! And that process is called disease and it is not
normal. But how can you possibly prevent the disease
from getting a foothold in your body if you don't know
the basic structures, functions, and needs?
Chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, strokes,
osteoporosis, and arthritis, plus many more can all be part of
the breakdown: of degeneration. Let's look at the normal
aging process. Normal aging is a series of lower activities:
thinner skin, fragile tissue and decreasing production of
body fluids such as lubricants, and slower mobility. It's
finer hair and less sharp eyesight. (But it is not macular
degeneration.) the terms "lesser", "thinner", "slower"
describe the normal aging process. Fewer hormones
are produced and secreted. Bone density
is reduced, but it's not an accelerated reduction as in
osteoporosis. Your heart slows down and it shows up as
fatigue and this results in less blood being circulated. That
brings about less activity, including nutrients, all through
your body. The nutrients that drive the metabolism are
fewer and less available. This is all normal. But it shows
how completely interrelated every part of you is!
Now enters a cultural phenomenon. The body of a 19 or
25 year old can run a long marathon. All the cells are
functioning at top performance. Anatomically they are
healthy and complete. Everything should be pretty perfect.
But we don't expect our 68 year old to be able to do the
same. It's not meant to be that way and for the senior who
does do this, they are to be commended. But it's rare. It's
perfectly possible. I would hazard a guess that only a tiny
fraction of our society is anatomically prepared to do this.
Most people cells are aging normally and are decreasing
their output or production. What came first? Nature or
culture? Personally I would think everything we do is
either based directly or indirectly on our understanding
of nature. Our natural makeup, experience, and
expectations influence us greatly.

on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures

finished Sam. We were shown not to become involved,
emotionally, in any situation, but to keep an objective eye
on what has to be done. That has saved many a policeman
from harm. I can do that here too. Believe me it will be
easy." answered Ben.
"Just remember, things are not good or bad. They are not
right or wrong, up or down, in or out. They just 'are'. Look
at all things that way, then express love toward them.
Recognize them as all part of your Maker's world. Recognize
all things are a spiritual matrix upon which coarse material
has coalesced. All will react toward you with their heart first,
it is the motivating force of all living creatures. Few will
react to you with intelligence. Most move by emotion. See
things as they truly are, and don't react. When you see a
person injured, don't 'feel' for them. See them as whole,
and project that image upon them that they might see.
Their own soul will take that image and bring about the
changes necessary to cause that image to be
true." said Sam.
"You are trying to say that you don't heal." said Ben.
"That's right. Neither did Jesus heal. If you look closely
you will find he did not want any credit, especially for
something he did not do. He wanted people to recognize
that their Maker, within, did the healing. The very person
who was made whole, did the doing. And so, too, will you
find that to be true. And that brings me to the next part of
our conversation. Now you have graduated to the use of
higher law, it is incumbent upon you to aid those less
fortunate than you." said Sam.
"Oh, I know Sam. Believe me I will be overjoyed to help.
In my career as a policeman I witnessed many things I
wished, at the time, I could have helped as you now help.
But, I am still not clear on how to manifest things." said Ben.
"Come on Ben. We just spoke of it. Get a good clear picture
of an apple in your mind. When you have it good and clear,
hold it there for a while. Then see 'that' apple on the ground
in front of you." responded Sam.
Ben closed his eyes and envisioned an apple. He got it
crystal clear and held that image for a short while. Then
he "saw" the apple on the ground in front of him. He opened
his eyes and there was no apple. "What happened? I did
as you said?"
"Not all the way you didn't. What you did, Ben, was envision
that apple, then when you opened your eyes you 'hoped
beyond hope' it would be there. You did not 'KNOW' it would
be there. It is the same thing as walking on water, Ben.
Yesterday you didn't think you could walk on water. Today
you 'KNOW' you can. With that same 'KNOWING' see the
apple on the ground. Leave no room for doubt. The apple
is there and you 'KNOW' it." said Sam.
Ben closed his eyes once more. This time when he
envisioned the apple on the ground, he applied the same
"sense of knowing" he felt when he "knew" he could walk
on water. Opening his eyes he saw the apple.
He thought about that for a while, before he spoke. "Sam,
this time when I opened my eyes I didn't even have a
sense of expectation. I just 'knew' it would be there. There
were no doubts, no hope, not even expectation. I 'knew' it
would be there without question."
"That's is how it all works, Ben. Trust that and it will happen
every time. There is nothing to it, just your knowledge of
how to use higher law. When you 'KNOW' then it is so,
immediately." said Sam.
"That's how you helped Helen? Where all the rest of us
saw a broken head, blood, and held in our hearts the fear
she would die, you saw her whole. That is what you did while
standing at her feet. You projected that image unto her in
a way she could 'see' and interpret. Then the 'life force' took
over and made that image come true. She became whole
right in front of our eyes. No wonder we find these things
hard to believe. Not one person in that room could move
from their emotional involvement into seeing her whole.
Even when it was done we could hardly believe it." Ben
observed.
"That's right. That is how it happened. However, Ben, I must
warn you that should it happen again, or anything like that,
to anyone you love and are close to, call for help. Do not
make them whole, yourself. You are too close, and too
involved. Call someone who is not involved. That is why I
was successful with Helen. I looked at her without emotion,
without involvement, and simply did what had to be done.
Understand?" asked Sam.
"What if someone does not come right away,
Sam?" asked Ben.
