Did Saint Patrick really drive the snakes out of Ireland?

What does kissing the Blarney Stone do for you?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

What insect devours its mother?

The cecidomyian gall midge, a fly, can reproduce either
by laying eggs or by parthenogenesis (reproduction
without a male). In the latter method, the female's offspring
develop within her tissues and when the time for their birth
arrives, they eat the mother from inside. Lovely.

Was Saint Patrick Irish?

Actually, no. Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was
born in 390 in England. He was captured by Irish hooligans
and taken to Ireland as a youth, where he spent several years
in slavery. He eventually was either freed or escaped and
returned to England to study for the priesthood. In 435, he
traveled back to Ireland to organize the Christian church. He
was made the patron saint of Ireland for this work in converting
Ireland to Christianity. March 17th is the day of his death.

Beware of the Biz Op Gypsy
by Sandra Stammberger

Traditional gypsies have traveled around the world for years
running scams, taking people's money, and heading out of
town faster than you can blink your eye. They normally offer
"too good to be true" products, services, or investments that
make you drool and have you dreaming of riches. The
problem is, only part of what they say is true.

In the Information Age, you have to beware of the biz op
gypsy. Along the same lines as the gypsy of old, biz op
gypsies look to have you buy into their so-called
"opportunity" so you can make hundreds of thousands
of dollars with very little work.

Anybody who knows anything about Internet business
will confirm in a heartbeat that life online is not effortless!
While there are some quality business opportunities
available, don't let visions of sunbathing by the pool
while - at the same time - raking in thousands of dollars
a day cloud your judgment.

When making your decision about which business
opportunity to seriously consider, take the following
points into consideration.

1) Sounds Too Good To Be True - One of your first clues
will be the tales of how easy it is to get rich. "No work
on your part," "The company does everything for you,"
and "Immediate rewards" are lines gypsies like to use.
I'll tell you now, regardless of how good the biz op is,
you will still have to work to be a success. Be very wary
of sales pitches that include the statements above.

2) Ask the Person: "What Have Been Your Experiences
With This Company?" - Granted, good gypsies will tell
you of all the wonders they've performed with the help
of this company, and how easy their lives are now.
That's great! But don't settle for lip service. Ask for proof.
Commission check stubs bearing their names, receipts,
or other hard documentation will help to back up their
claims.

3) Contact the Company Directly - The "home" company
will be very aware of its "top sellers." If for some reason
they are not, with the salesperson's company ID number,
you should be able to confirm everything the supposed
gypsy is saying. Better yet. Arrange a 3-way call with
the company, the gypsy, and yourself.

4) Limited Time Offer - This is one of the most effective
tactics biz op gypsies use. You'll normally be pitched a
line that has something to do with the home company
closing registrations soon because the company has
been so successful. You'll be told this is your last chance
to get into the group. Nonsense! Legitimate MLM or
biz op companies know how valuable their representatives
are. They are fully aware that their reps are the ones that
make the money for them. No legit companies would
close registrations of new members - unless they were
going out of business themselves.

5) Use Your Common Sense - Think about what you
are being told. Consider the "flow" of a business.
For example, the company might state that they provide
"everything you need" to be successful. This could
include brochures, a Web site, letters, sales forms,
products, etc. Before you get too excited, stop and
think about what's missing. Who will you give the
brochures to? How will you get traffic to your Web site?
Who will buy the products? The customers! The home
company needs associates to bring them customers.
Basically, any MLM or biz op company is looking for
salespeople. That's you! And believe me, it takes a lot
of time and energy (at first) to build a customer base
before you begin seeing the piles of money some
gypsies tell you about.

Think things through, and use your common sense
when considering business opportunities. There are
some excellent companies available that offer
tremendous benefits and support. The upstanding
ones will gladly give you full disclosure. The
reason? It's a waste of their time to bring in associates
that are not fully prepared and able to work for them.
After all, the riches come - for you and the home
company - when sales are made. Keep investigating
until you find an opportunity that's right for you.
Then you can work toward financial independence with
the backing of a legitimate organization.

MEDICAL COLUMN - - - -
by Karin Henderson

HOW TO CHOOSE A NUTRITIONAL
SUPPLEMENT: A "Multivitamin" Safely And Wisely
Part 3 of 5

Your basic concern should include three things: the company's
ability to provide the expert scientific knowledge, the required
quality of the manufacturing process, and the ingredients of
the highest quality that allows the cells require to grow and to
remain healthy and vibrant. )

I guarantee that unless you are an expert, you will be very
confused and frustrated.

Pick up a bottle of what might be classified as nutritional
supplement. (I am not speaking here about individual
vitamins the vitamin or minerals, although the same process
could be applied to them.)

What Wording Are You Looking For? The label should say
something like: "LABORATORY TESTED, QUALITY
GUARANTEED, MEETS USP SPECIFICATIONS FOR POTENCY,
UNIFORMITY, DISINTEGRATION WHERE APPLICABLE."
These are your safeguards. This is the industry standard
to follow. (Right away, you will have some difficulty finding
supplement to choose from.)

What does "LABORATORY TESTED" mean?
It means testing all raw materials and the finished product
for potency, contamination, dosage, stability, and dissolution.
(To do that all raw materials are quarantined until samples
have been taken and tested for Salmonella, E. coli, total plate
count, molds, yeast, fungi and Staphylococcus Aureus
(Staph A).) Only after passing all these tests are these raw
materials approved.

What does QUALITY GUARANTEED mean?
This is obvious. You want a guarantee that you are buying
a quality item. You need assurance that what you think you
are buying and is labeled as such, is in fact in the bottle.
Vitamin manufacturing may not be regulated, but responsible
manufacturers choose to meet the FDA standards. They also
choose to follow "Good Manufacturing Practices" (GMP)
established for drug manufacturers, in order to provide the
highest quality of products in the industry. ) They will produce
pharmaceutical-grade products designed to much higher
standards than what the law requires.

What does MEETS USP SPECIFICATIONS FOR POTENCY,
UNIFORMITY, DISINTEGRATION WHERE APPLICABLE mean?"
USP stands for United States Pharmacopeia and this is
another set of standards dealing with such things as
Bioavailability. This is the degree and rate at which a
substance (as a drug or other products) is absorbed into
a living system (you) or is made available to the body.
Through scientific research, it had been determined what
your body needs and how all this fits together. It is not a
guessing game. And it is a scientific fact that some ingredients
won't work well with others in one form, but will be fine in
another. The disintegration times of tablets are also tested
to ensure that they will break down while in the
gastrointestinal tract enabling your body to absorb them.

Poor manufacturing can destroy great science, and you
really want these supplements to be scientifically "designed".
The Quality Assurance teams keep detailed records of all
activities including all testing and evaluation of raw materials,
shipping, and storage procedures.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"It will change for you personally as you do
different things. For example, if you are
permitted to stay away from school this kind of
action by others will drop significantly. Even if
you and I go to the restaurant you will see they
won't bother you. The dynamics are different in
different places and times. You will see. Soon it
will be no bother to you at all."

Sharon came up to Tim and gave him a big long
kiss and a hug. "I'm glad I have you nearby. You
are good for me in more ways than one."

"Well, thank you ma'am. How about that coffee
you said I should come over here for?" Tim laughed
and patted her behind in one of those familiar
love pats lovers often develop.

"Here you go smarty. What are your folks up
to?"

"Not too much. They sure had a great time down
with Sis. They're tanned too. They look like they
went somewhere exotic for the winter."

"They did."

"Yeah! I guess you're right. How are your
folks? I haven't seen or heard from or about them
lately."

"They're fine, Tim. They don't yet know what
to make of all this but they are trying. One thing
that has changed is they no longer seem to want to
boss me. They have a respect for the fact I am now
living on my own and have to make my own
decisions. Every once in a while they try to make
decisions for me but that is just old habits
coming to the front. All in all they have been
very good."

"Have they asked you where your money is
coming from or what you intend to do with the rest
of your life?"

"Not yet. I think they want to but somehow
they think they know it will be from higher law
and that I will do whatever higher law requires of
me. I know I am not required to go aid people
anywhere in the world, however, I want to go
whenever a call comes in. I have been given so
much I want only to give back. Maybe, somewhere, I
can make a difference."

"You already have. Look at the effect you are
having on your parents and your brothers. They are
doing some deep thinking, Sharon, and that is all
due to you having made this choice. Don't sell
yourself short. People see. Look at what you did
in your gym class. Don't think there aren't some
who are thinking about that. One day you will
see."

"I guess we don't really see the path we leave
behind, do we? Most of us are so busy thinking we
are right that we fail to have an honest look at
the example we set. Oh! We think we are doing
the right things, and that thinking doesn't allow
us to look any further. I know that is why higher
law wants us to lead with love. That keeps our
thoughts on the welfare of others more than
ourselves. That's good."

"I didn't tell you that I sent a message to
Sis, in South America. I asked her and Mazunta and
the kids to come up here for a visit. They haven't
been up here for a while and I want Sis to see
your new suite."

"Gee, Tim, that'd be great. I haven't seen her
since the night they gave us that ceremony at the
fire. I hope she comes soon."

"When will you be speaking with your school
principal?"

"I think tomorrow. I'll go into school late
and see if I can speak with him."

"Good, what's on the tube?"

"I don't think there's much. Why don't we go
for a swim instead?"

"Hey, that would be neat. I'll beat you into
the water ..."

Sharon took the challenge and the next instant
both were in the water in the pool that was part
of the complex. Even though it was a warm night
after a hot day there was no one else in the pool.
That might change anytime but for the moment they
had the pool to themselves. Living by higher law
permitted them both to change into bathing suits
and be in the pool in the flash of an eye. It was
hard to say who was first but Sharon claimed it
and the challenge continued.

Tim was after her, going to pull her under,
for her audacity in claiming to win. She knew he
was coming and pushed off in a strong swim to the
deep end. When Tim came up he had to look for her.
Then the chase was on.

With a squeal Sharon moved away from where she
was. Tim looked up every once in a while just to
keep track of her. She tried to go under water and
get away from him but he was fast and he always
knew where she was. Sharon did not bad in keeping
him at bay for a while but always he was getting
closer and closer. She knew he would soon be able
to grab her. She envisioned herself sitting up on
the low diving board, and that is where she went.

"Oh Ho! Getting tricky are we?" Tim was right
at her in that same instant. She squealed again
and the laughter, the swimming, the chase was
getting them both out of breath.

HA! HA! HA!

Quip 1: Marriages are made in heaven, but so again are thunder and
lightning.

Quip 2: If you want your spouse to listen and pay strict attention to
every word you say, talk in your sleep.

Quip 3: Marriage is grand -- and divorce is at least 100 grand!

Quip 4: Married life is very frustrating. In the first year of
marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens.
In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third
year, they both speak and the neighbors
listen.

Quip 5: When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be
sure of one thing: Either the car is new or the
wife is.
