In The Wizard of Oz, what is Dorothy's last name?

It's Dorothy Gale! Next time you watch the movie,

What causes household dust?

Dust is everywhere and you can't avoid it. Polish the furniture
today and tomorrow a fine layer of dust will already have
formed again. Just what IS that stuff? Well, household dust is
mostly made up of discarded human skin cells. We're shedding
flakes of skin all the time. The rest is dead insect parts, bits of
fabric, and other debris.

STRANGE BITS AND PIECES!

The first known American novelist to hand in a manuscript
that was typed was Mark Twain. His typewriter was a Remington
No.1, which was invented by Christopher Sholes and Carlos
Glidden.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
-----------------

We Each Try To Do Our Best!

Bill Gates is hanging out with the chairman of
General Motors.

"If automotive technology had kept pace with
computer technology over the past few decades,"
boasts Gates, "You would now be driving a V-32
instead of a V-8, and it would have a speed of
10,000 miles per hour. Or, you could have an
economy car that weighs 30 pounds and gets a
thousand miles with a gallon of gas. In either case,
the sticker price of a new car would be less than
$50."

In response to all this goading, the GM chairman
replies, "Yes, but would you really want to drive a
car that crashes four times a day?"

Aah! The game of "One Upsmanship". This little quip
also speaks of the idea your reputation precedes you.
However, let's draw another point from it today.

Notwithstanding the field conditions for each product
is different and each must meet different criteria we
still find each is trying to do the best they can. There
are times when I am not so sure about that concept
where large corporations are concerned because in
the world of man there is what we call politics and
large corporations are right in the middle of playing
games most of us don't fully see or comprehend.

However, I have never met a man, woman or child who
didn't think they were doing the best they could. What
they are trying to say is they are doing the most their
present level of knowledge permits. Often one simple
idea can render one's level of performance a hundredfold
better. So when you see someone straining at something
walk over to them and begin to share ideas. Sometimes
just knowing you are watching and that you care is
enough to give someone a boost.

Here is an idea that will boost anyone's performance at
any task, without fail. Have a person stop what they are
doing. Have them sit down, get quiet, and get a picture
in their head, in their imagination, of them doing the
very task they were doing. Have them see themselves,
in their mind, doing the job as if it is easy, as if they
had done it a hundred times before, successfully,
easily. Then have them get up and get back at the job.

If every person did that before they started any job, then
all jobs would become easier, get done better and
faster, and each person would have a better life.

Think on that for a bit ...

We Each Try To Do Our Best!

Your Immune System: Delicate Yet Critical
How It Serves You And Why You Need To Keep It Healthy
Why a carrot is good and a chocolate bar is not...
PART 1 of 9

In the following information, I want to describe what the Immune
System is and how it works. Then I'll mention some situations
that can overload it and cause it to be less than protective and
productive. I'll show how it can be brought back to function
adequately. Lastly, I want to show you how to keep it healthy.
As usual this information is for educational purposes only. If
you think of something that might be happening to you, please
check with your doctor or other health care professional. Don't
diagnose and treat yourself. But do take the time to read and
research. I am including several professional and trustworthy
links for just that purpose. I write these articles so you can
have an intelligent conversation with your doctor. Not that you
are not intelligent, but that you can ask the right questions
and understand the conversation in a more productive way. If you
pay close attention you will realise that rarely does anyone
ever discuss what a healthy body actually is or needs to stay
that way. We take it for granted that somehow...magically,
things appear that keeps your body in good working order.

I wonder what went through your mind as you read title. Did this
catch your attention? Or are you like I was a few years
ago...thinking this is NOT for me. This is only for academics
and health fanatics. This topic had no interest for me. I felt I
didn't need to know it and didn't want to spend any time
understanding it. It just didn't SEEM to relate to anything in
my life. If someone mentioned "immune system" or "vitamins" or
taking something other than Vitamin C to protect myself when I
had a cold, I had absolutely no interest.

What changed my mind? I saw the effects of medications on
elderly people, who I thought was drugged into "unreality". I
also watched many people die of diseases at a relatively young
age. I saw many older people go on happily well into their
nineties. I asked myself what the difference could be.

Your personal experiences have very strong ways of "trapping"
your attention, especially if it's your own body telling you to
wake up. Suddenly, hearing about the need to protect or rebuild
your immune system takes on a totally different meaning.
Suddenly you feel connected. It doesn't sound so unreal any
more. As is so often the case, things don't matter until you are
personally faced with a major and maybe life-threatening
situation for yourself or a loved one. It was at such a stage,
that I was introduced to understanding how degenerative diseases
could be slowed down and what I could personally do the prevent
them.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many
adventures and many places.
As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"Sam. I never thought. It makes me sick.
You're right. The disease has become so thoroughly
embedded as a part of our society entire
industries have been built around it. We can no
more have a cure for cancer than we can suddenly
replace gasoline as a fuel for cars. Both
conditions would destroy us."

"Its like prostitution, Darryl. Ben Striker
was telling me once, the police simply could not
arrest a girl every time she was caught. The
police budget would not permit that kind of
manpower for something that would never be stopped
completely anyway. So what the police do is cause
most of it to become concentrated into an area and
there they can cause a modicum of control over the
effects of prostitution. That is what the
governments are doing with cancer, not curing it,
managing it."

"Sam, I can see that as clear as crystal, now
that you point it out. I would never have thought
that until you drew me that picture. That means
articles like the one I published the other day
are only teasers, designed to keep the population
hoping, and not looking at the truth."

"That's about it Darryl."

"What a shock, Sam. I can hardly get used to
it."

"You do know, Darryl, cancer can be beaten. I
know of a company that produces foodstuffs by a
different method. They deliver real food, the kind
the body can use to heal itself. This company has
hundreds of stories of people being cured from
cancer. Governments don't want to hear from them.
The medical community is completely disinterested
and the pharmaceutical companies want to have them
shut down. All these special interests are getting
in the way of people getting the help they want."

"Why is that Sam? Are we just paying lip
service to this stuff? Maybe we don't want a cure
for cancer, globally, I'm talking. Maybe only the
victim of cancer wants a cure, but as a society we
don't want it or really don't care."

"Such is the nature of man, Darryl. So long as
money is man's god, so long will things like this
exist. It is only when man begins to learn there
is much more beyond money and material goods that
he will begin to change."

"I guess that is why we wanted to come visit
tonight, Sam. We really wanted to talk about
higher law. Both Evelyn and myself have become
deeply interested. Your little talk about cancer
only sidetracked us. That was a blow, Sam."

"I know, Darryl. I just wondered if you had
yet thought that whole thing through. What would
you like to talk about with regard to higher law?"

"Well, first off, we were talking to the kids
and they think we should just carry on the way we
are. They think we're nuts and that we should drop
it."

"Darryl, I would imagine that to be true. It
would certainly be true if you spoke about this to
your pastor or minister. Tell me something. You
have three kids right, two daughters and a son?"

"That's right Sam, Sarah, Jeanine and Darryl
Jr."

Even though Sam knew the answer to his next
question he wanted the information spoken out,
"How old are they Darryl? Are they married, have
kids?"

"Yes Sam. Sarah is married with three kids of
her own. She is 28. Jeanine is married and has one
boy. She is 25, and Darryl Jr. is off to college,
not married. He is 22."

"And you raised them to be free, independent
and contributing citizens right?"

"Yes."

"Then what business is it of theirs that you
want to consider living by higher law?"

"Sam, that sounded rude, and I can't believe
that is the way you meant it so explain what you
are thinking."

"Good man, Darryl. I appreciate your insight.
What I mean is this is a personal decision each of
you must make. It has nothing whatever, in any
way, to do with anyone else. I know you spoke to
the kids thinking it was proper to keep them
informed. However, in the final analysis it is
none of their business. It is not them who is
going to be living the life. It is not them who
has to make the decision. Tell me, if Sarah was
thinking of having an extramarital affair, do you
think she would seek out your permission first?"

"I guess not. She knows what we would say."

"Exactly. And why did you think you needed the
kids permission to conduct the rest of your life
the way you wanted?"

"I see. But it will affect them."

"How?"

"They will know. They may have to explain to
their friends, or kids."

"So?"

Many of you have become interested in following what
we are doing in our business.

It is a way of seeing some of the good things and not so good
things that happen to us along the way.

THINK ABOUT THIS TODAY!

"I will persist until I succeed. Always will I take another step.
If that is of no avail I will take another, and yet another. In truth,
one step at a time is not too difficult...I know that small attempts,
repeated, will complete any undertaking."

HA! HA! HA!

A florist went to a barbershop to get a haircut. After the
cut, he asked about his bill and the barber replied, "I'm
sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing
community service this week." The florist was
pleased and left the shop.

The next morning when the barber arrived at his shop
to open, he found a thank you card and a dozen roses
waiting for him at the door.

Later, a policeman came for a haircut. When he started
to pay his bill the barber again replied, "I'm sorry, I
cannot accept money from you, I'm doing community
service this week." The policeman left the shop with a
smile.

The next morning when the barber arrived to open his
shop, he found a thank you card and a dozen donuts
waiting at the door.

Then a lawyer came in for a haircut. When he started
to pay his bill the barber again replied, "I'm sorry, I
cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community
service this week." The lawyer was very happy
and left the shop.

The next morning when the barber arrived to open
the shop, he found a dozen lawyers lined up, waiting
for their free haircuts!
