Broadband Is Going to Go Boom
Published: February 24, 2005
eMarketer predicts that there will be nearly 70 million
broadband households in the US in 2008.
"Convergence," once only a futuristic dream, is a growing
reality in homes across the continent, and it is changing
the character — product offerings and competitive
alignment — of some of the most powerful corporations
in North America.
eMarketer's new report, North America Broadband, explores
the complex and evolving market dynamics that widespread
broadband adoption is creating.
"The broadband market is no longer about only high-speed
Internet access," says Ben Macklin, eMarketer Senior Analyst
and author of the report. "A new market is being created,
including voice and video — a market worth nearly ten times
the value of the Internet access business alone."
eMarketer estimates that broadband households will grow
at a compound annual rate between 2004 and 2008 of 19.4%.
Broadband penetration of all households will grow from 23.1%
in 2003 to 56.3% in 2008.
In terms of real numbers, eMarketer predicts there will be
76.9 million broadband households across North America
in 2008.
eMarketer is more confident on broadband growth than
other researchers.
The convergence in digital technology is already having a
very real effect on the market.
"Telecom companies are offering video services, cable
companies are offering voice services and the company
that controls the broadband connection will largely control
the future digital home," says Mr. Macklin. "The current
scrambling for position is a precursor to the real battle about
to begin between cable and telecom companies as they
encroach on each other's traditional territory. 'You want a
piece of me? I'll take a piece of you!' could well be the
catch phrase of this new era."
Billions of dollars of revenue are in play. The business
decisions that are made over the next 12 to 24 months will
determine whether massive corporate entities — like
dinosaurs or wooly mammoths — thrive, survive or
disappear.

Most research concludes that the restoration and maintenance of
your healthy body depends strongly on your nutritional and
lifestyle choices. Become aware of the connection of all these
factors. Educate yourself about "oxidative stress". (An ongoing
overabundance of free radicals in an inadequate amount of
anti-oxidants.) In this day of pollution, pesticides,
fertilizers, preservatives, etc., it is very difficult to avoid
free radicals. So you have to prepare to overcome them instead.
You have just read of some of the different ways these chemicals
come into your body. Open your eyes to the world around you. Do
you now see the need for "nutritional" supplementation: complete
and balanced? And as you probably (like me) won't know how to
create this balanced set of nutrients, find yourself someone who

They spoke of the incident and both decided
that it was not good for little girls to be next
to hot stoves alone. They also decided the stool
must go, that it was not a good thing to stand on.
Following that they decided to go outside.
Marietta went to the area where her toys were. She
wanted to play. All things in her life were as if
the incident had not occurred.
Juanita's life, however, was forever changed.
She knew what had happened. She knew she had
followed her Maker's instructions. She knew she
had crossed over the veil of simplicity. Inside
her, deep, she knew she was a master. She cried.
The thoughts going through Juanita's mind were
myriad. As much as she wanted to live by higher
law it was still a shock when she achieved it. She
was grateful, to the core.
She thought back over what had happened. The
thoughts came to her that she had heard, listened
and believed. Because of that she was able to
achieve. So it is with all men. It behooves them
to do likewise.
Juanita went back into the house to look at
the scene. Everything was as she had left it. The
pot was on the counter, the water and mess was all
cleaned up and the offending three legged stool
was back in it's usual spot. Juanita looked at the
stool and saw it vanishing, vaporizing as it were,
into the ethers. There was no need to have that
around where something more stable would be
preferred.
Romano and Oomano appeared in the kitchen.
They just stood there for a minute, then, with all
knowledge they each came to Juanita and gave her a
big hug, "Welcome". Each whispered this word into
her ear. They knew.
Again Juanita wept. The tears were those of
thankfulness and joy. Oomano came over, put her
arms around her and guided her to a chair. "I know
you were terrified over Marietta, yet you obeyed
your Maker, placing your Maker first. In so doing
you crossed the veil."
"I ... I'm not sure exactly what happened"
"Juanita, Jesus said so long ago that we are
to 'seek ye first the kingdom of God and his
righteousness and all these things shall be added
unto you'. In placing your Maker first in all
things you have full knowledge on all things, you
have full power and can accomplish all things.
That is what Jesus meant. There are two important
things you should know about Jesus' statement."
"Wh ... what are they?"
"Learn that righteousness means
right-use-ness. In other words we not only must
seek the kingdom of God but we must learn how to
use it. The next is most important. You must do
this always. Place your Maker first, before all.
There is nothing anywhere, at any time, or in any
circumstance that comes before your Maker. That
statement does not mean first, after you get out
of bed, or first after you have had breakfast, or
first after your chores. It means FIRST, before
all things, at all times, in all places. It means
first."
"Isn't that hard?"
"Look at what happened to you, with Marietta.
You were terrified and you went for Marietta. Then
you heard the voice and you listened. You stopped
and did what you were told. In placing the
instructions of your Maker before your concern for
Marietta you were empowered to do things for her.
You placed your Maker first, even in the most
desperate of circumstances. That is how you
crossed the veil."
"I did not know what I was doing. The words
came to me as a command. I just knew I had to
follow what I was being told. I did nothing
special and I did not do anything for which I
deserve credit. I just did as I was told."
"That's right, Juanita. And because you did
you allowed yourself to become an instrument of
and empowered by your Maker. That is what being a
master is all about. Placing your Maker first in
all things. That is why we don't want credit for
the things we do. It is not us doing them. It is
our Maker doing these things through us. We
deserve no thanks, no reward. We don't want any.
We don't need any, especially when we have all we
need provided by our Maker. Crossing the veil is
just what you have experienced. Listening,
believing and doing."
"I feel such love. I feel at peace, protected,
as if I can do anything."
"You shall feel that way from now on. It is
part of the package. Does it feel better than your
life with the gang?"
"Oh, yes. All the things I used to do I can
now see as folly. I can see that all things
mankind does is folly. They can all do what I have
done and what you do. All men have the power and
ability. In that all are created equal. None are
exempt. Yet they struggle along in the material
world thinking there is nothing beyond. They will
even fight to stay where they are. They don't want
to live as their Maker wants."
"This and many things will come to you as you
progress in higher law, Juanita, but for now,
Romano and I are very glad you found the way.
Welcome."

Seen in the parking lot of a brand new department store,
painted on the ground at a crosswalk in letters
4 feet tall: YELD
Close, but not close enough. I drove through the following
week and found it was changed. They had painted an I
between the existing letters. Now it read YEILD.
About two months later they finally fixed it. The old lettering
was painted over with black and freshly painted on top of
that was the word STOP.
