A typical, obviously American, community. Two young people
given an opportunity for an a adventure with an attainable
financial reward. Their adventure into the inkonwn, not
restrained by dogmatic rules or community restraints, leads
them to resources that change no only the two adventurers'
attitudes, but attitudes of others.

The reader will either come away with a a feeling of
wonderment or question the writer's declared source, his
Maker, for the content.

I was not envious of the characters' adventures but enjoyed
the book as it refreshed the wonderment I had as a youth and
now as a practical adult, to "think outside the box" about
powers that are within us.

Can octopuses walk around out of the water?

How long is Alaska's famous Iditarod race?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

"Octopuses?" Shouldn't that be "Octopi?"

Most people believe the plural form of "octopus" is
"octopi." It's actually "octopuses." If you feel
uncomfortable saying "octopuses," you can always say
"octopods" - the proper plural form of "Octopoda," the order
of octopuses.

Why do cephalopods have blue blood?

Cephalopod blood is copper based, which gives it a light
blue color when it's holding oxygen. Human blood is red when
holding oxygen because WE have an iron based pigment.

Sprint trumpets 1 million songs sold milestone - but it took
them four months!

"In the race to become the top mobile digital music store,
Sprint Nextel’s latest milestone is a poor marker of
success," Rachel Rosmarin reports for Forbes. "In the nearly
four months since the Sprint Music Store debuted, more than
1 million tracks have been downloaded, Sprint Nextel
announced today. But Apple's iTunes store sold the same
amount in less than a week when it launched way back in May
2003, and will likely sell its billionth song this month...
Of the one million tracks downloaded from Sprint, it is
unclear how many of those were paid purchases. To promote
the new service, Sprint offered five free song downloads to
many customers."

Sprint's press release:
http://news.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/10381/198763.html

MacDailyNews Take: -Apple currently sells about 4 million
songs per day. For the Enderles of the world: Apple sells
four times as many songs in one day than Sprint sells in
four months. In other words, based upon current sales rates,
Sprint takes approximately one year and four months to equal
one day of Apple's iTunes Music Store's current sales. To
look at the situation even more harshly, Apple sells a
year's worth of Sprint's sales every 18 hours. A more
ill-advised press release is almost unimaginable.

iPod Becomes siPod, Time Inc. Dives Into Apple's iTunes by
Gavin O'Malley, Wednesday, Feb 15, 2006 7:45 AM EST Falk
AdSolution Sports Illustrated Tuesday launched a site
dedicated to its swimsuit issue, at SI.com/Swimsuit. Beyond
the standard excess of glowing skin and siren gazes, the
site is loaded with enough sponsor partnerships to rival its
print partner.

Budweiser, Coca-Cola's Vault--a "hybrid energy soda"--and
DaimlerChrysler's Dodge brand of trucks are just a few of
the site's sponsors. Visitors have the option to either
watch a selection of some 40 swimsuit model videos for free
with Honda Civic pre-roll ads, or purchase the video from
Apple's iTunes music store for $1.99 apiece, or $8.99 for
the entire video package.

Visitors also can watch and download a Kid Rock music video,
which was produced to a live version of his new single,
"Rock 'N Roll Pain Train," and features footage of SI's
swimsuit models during the making of the 2006 issue. Viewers
can also click to buy Kid Rock's new album directly on
Amazon.com.

"We're expecting more than 50 million page views the first
week just to that section," SI.com Managing Editor Paul
Fichtenbaum said in a statement regarding the site's some
500 photos.

The site also drives viewers to additional video at
Spike.com, the online extension of the lad-centric cable
network.

Instant messaging "emoticons" are free, but cell phone
wallpaper images cost $2 per download.

Additionally, Planters is hosting a section where visitors
are asked to vote on their favorite SI swimsuit model photo
of all time.

The site also carries Yahoo Search Marketing contextual ads.

The Relationship of Oral Health to Overall
Health and Longevity
by Tom McGuire, D.D.S.
PART 6 of 31

Dental Disease and Its Effects on Overall Health
Because of its affect on the entire body, dental
disease can no longer be omitted from the subject of
health and longevity. Dental disease is not just a
minor ailment of the gums and teeth. It is a disease of
the body that happens to begin in the mouth. If left
unchecked, it can contribute to other more harmful
diseases that can seriously affect the quality of life
and actually shorten life expectancy. This means that
physicians must play a more active role in educating
their patients about the role dental disease plays in
their overall health and why they need to eliminate
dental disease and restore their mouths to a healthy
and functional state.

For example, recent scientific studies clearly
demonstrate the direct and harmful role gum disease
plays in many serious and life-threatening diseases.
For example, moderate-to-severe gum disease can:

• Increase the risk of heart attack by as much as 25%;
• Increase the risk of stroke by a factor of 10;
• Increase the severity of diabetes;
• Contribute to low pre-term birth weights;
• Contribute to respiratory disease;
• Interfere with proper digestion;
• Play a role in osteoporosis;
• Severely stress the immune system;
• Lower resistance to other infections; and
• Actually reduce life expectancy.

But because of its damaging effect on the immune system
it can also contribute, make worse, or trigger many
diseases and health issues, including such idiopathic
(medical term applied to diseases of unknown cause)
diseases as Meniere’s, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFIDS)
and fibromyalgia.

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

"Well, I'll be darned. Is this a clan meeting or
what? I don't think I've ever seen the entire Henry family
all in one spot before. How are you guys?"

The booming voice was coming from Ben Striker the
former Police Chief. Ben had long ago retired and being
friends with the Henrys, liked the way Sam and Alewka lived
by higher law. Ben and his wife Helen were childless and
life was going to be looking pretty much meaningless. They
both dove into higher law with a passion and commitment.
Now life has taken on meaning and purpose for both of them.

"Hi, Ben. How are you? How's Helen?"

"Sam, we're fine, or you'd know about it. Is there a
celebration going on I don't know about?"

"Not really, Ben. The kids just happened to come
home all at the same time. Kind of unique, really. I
suggested we come down here and have a look at Old Pete. The
family has been too busy to see David's work. It's pretty
fabulous. Even I wish I had talent like that. And, Old Pete
is still serving this town. I'd say that's pretty good."

"It sure is, Sam. David did a terrific job on that
statue. Hey, do you folks want to come over tonight?"

"There are too many of us, Ben. Why don't you and
Helen come over to our place?"

"If I did, it would look like I asked the question
just so I would get that invite. Sure, Sam. We'd be
delighted. We haven't seen Susan for a long time and I
understand Billy and Sonora have been busy." Ben winked at
Billy, who had a smile on from ear to ear.

"Hello, Mr. Striker. I haven't seen you for a while.
I hope all is well." Sonora extended her hand and Ben shook
it.

"Hi, Sonora. Good to see you my dear. How are your
folks? I hear you and Billy have a real project going on
over at your place."

"We have. We'll tell you all about it tonight when
you come over."

"Good. I'm looking forward to it. And you young
lady, how are you?" Ben had turned to Tlang.

"I fine, Mr. Ben. Thank you sir."

"And Sharon. You look like you're going to pop.
You're radiant as I've ever seen anyone. Pregnancy suits
you. Tim you'll have to keep her that way."

There was laughter from everyone.

"I'm afraid she's the boss in that department, Mr.
Striker. I find that being married I had to learn to do as I
was told."

"Timmmmm!" Sharon didn't see that coming.

Tim ducked and went to stand by Ben. "Us guys have
to stick together, right Mr. Striker?"

Again they all laughed.

"You see Sonora? They're all the same, at least in
this family." Alewka was reminding Sonora of the Henry men
being teases.

"I know, Alewka. This guy is incorrigible." Just for
spite she hit Billy's arm.

"Ouch! What's that all about? Here I am finally behaving
myself and even then I get punched."

"That's for what you were planning on doing."

There was fun amongst the bunch of them.

"Hey folks. How about if I buy you all a coffee. Not you
youngsters though. I'll bet you'd love some milkshakes,
right?"

Ben was asking Eloise's and Maz's kids.

"Yes sir, Mr. Striker, sir"

"Good, come with me. All these old folks will take
forever to get there. Let's go."

With that Ben vanished and the two kids did too. They
materialized over at the restaurant at the motor hotel.

"Gee! Were my kids just kidnapped by the chief of
police?" Eloise was laughing.

"It sure looks like it doesn't it. You guys all like a
coffee? Come, let's go."

Sam was about to leave when Darryl Sparks walked out of
the newspaper office.

"You guys go ahead without me. I think Darryl wants to
talk."

The rest of the family vanished.

"What are you doing in the newspaper office, Darryl? I
thought you gave that up."

"I did, Sam. You know that. They were just having some
trouble and asked me to come in and see if I could
straighten it out."

"Did you?"

"You bet. Living by higher law, nothing is beyond your
ability. Was that your whole family I just saw with you?"

"It sure was. They're all over at the restaurant having
a coffee now. Care to join us?"

"That'd be great, Sam. Let's go."

The two men appeared instantly in the restaurant. They
scared the waitress who was returning to the doorway after
seating the rest of the family. She put her hand on her
chest, and took a deep breath. "You two scared me. It's a
good thing I knew you were coming. Go seat yourselves, I'll
be over in a minute to take your order. Right now I have to
make up a couple milkshakes."

"We'll be fine, Margaret. And we'll just have coffees.
Thanks."

With that Darryl and Sam made their way over to the
table.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

In the Swim: Where do we get the expression "In the swim"?

From fishing. Anglers call a gathering of fish a "swim". The
term was eventually applied to social gatherings at which
people came together in large groups. And s, to be "in the
swim" is to be a part of such gatherings.

HA! HA! HA!

Mr. Johnson was overweight, so his doctor put him on a diet.

He said; “I want you to eat regularly for two days, then
skip a day, and repeat this procedure for two weeks. The
next time I see you, you should have lost at least five
pounds.”

When Mr. Johnson returned, he shocked the doctor by having
dropped almost twenty pounds. “Why, that’s amazing!” the
doctor told him. “You did this just by following my
instructions?”

The slimmed down Mr. Johnson nodded. “I’ll tell you,
though, I though I was going to drop dead that third day.”

“From hunger, you mean.” “No,” replied Mr. Johnson, “from
skipping.”
