Some Folks Live By Fear Alone!
A honeymoon couple is in the Watergate Hotel.
The new bride is concerned and asked, "What if
the place is still bugged?"
The groom says "Hmm... Good point. I'll look
for a bug."
He looks behind the drapes, behind the pictures,
under the rug . . . "AHA!" he shouts!
Sure enough, under the rug was a small disc
shaped plate, with four screws. He gets his Swiss
army knife, unscrews the screws, throws them
and the plate out the window.
The next morning, the hotel manager asks the
newlyweds "How was your room? How was the
service? How was your stay at the Watergate Hotel?"
Curious, the groom says, "And why, sir, are you
asking me all of these questions?"
The hotel manager says "Well, the room
UNDER yours complained of the chandelier
falling on them!"
This dumb little joke is too real for a great many folks.
What would the honeymooners be doing that would
have him so concerned about a "bug under the rug"? In
truth - - - nothing.
Yet the joke points out how paranoid some people
are about everything. There are those who are still
afraid to use their credit cards online. There are
those who are afraid of identity theft. There are
those who are afraid of being spied upon. There
are those who are afraid of the boss, afraid to be
embarrassed, afraid to lose a paycheck, afraid
of the kids getting hurt, afraid of this and afraid of
that.
In fact there are so many people afraid of something,
anything, that it might be said that marketers are
having a "field day" just taking advantage of that fear.
Some live in a continual state of tension, based on
fear. They never take charge of their own lives.
Unfortunately that continual tension will kill them.
The human body cannot take continual tension without
breaking out into some serious malady. It is long
established medical fact tension, stress, fear, are
huge catalysts for major disease.
I know of a woman who fears, literally, everything
in and about her life. Guess what she reported the
other day? You got it. She now has cancer.
I am not a medical doctor so I cannot give you the
specifics of what happens. I do know that stress,
tension, fear, set up all the conditions within and
without the body that allow these conditions to be
self generating. The only way to stop it is to take
control of you, of your life, to face your fears and
boot them out of your life.
Have a little faith. Do you not know your life will go
on as good? Do you not know that without fear
life actually becomes better, more prosperous,
and happy?
The human body and life were built to be happy,
tension free. Fear is a defense mechanism to protect
us against real danger, not imagined danger. It is
there to stimulate the fight/flee response system.
Life lived continually in a state of fear over things
one can do nothing about is a life lost.
Take charge today. Take a look at your fears and
make a decision who is in charge of your life. You?
Or your emotions? Living in fear is just not worth
the pain. Neither is there any basis at all for most
of the fear.
Start using affirmations to overcome your fears. Start
taking charge of your life. Do anything and everything
you can to eliminate all fear from your life and feelings.
Give it a try.

To fear is to deny who you are. Fear is a signal that you should
be aware of a condition you don't like. It is to keep you keen so
you can make the fight or flight decision. It is not to control your
thoughts so you automatically run from a new experience.

In regard to longevity, the most noteworthy finding was
that periodontal disease and poor oral hygiene were
stronger indicators of premature death than of coronary
heart disease. Young men who had a maximum oral hygiene
index of 6 had a three to four times higher risk of
dying than those who had a hygiene index of 0 (the
higher the number the more serious was the gum
disease). In addition, young men with periodontitis had
a nearly threefold increased risk of death from
coronary heart disease and about a 50% increased risk
of admission to hospital for coronary heart disease
then those without it.
When compared to subjects with little or no periodontal
disease, individuals with gingivitis (the less severe
form of periodontal disease) had an approximately 23%
higher risk of premature death. Those with
periodontitis, or no teeth, had about a 50% higher risk
of dying. From a health standpoint, these findings
could be significant because gingivitis is far more
common than the more severe form of the disease. But
left un-treated, gingivitis will quickly lead to the
more severe form of gum disease.
Another Study Another study, K. J. Matilla explored the
relationship between oral health and heart attack. It
also examined the role of chronic bacterial infections
as risk factors for coronary heart disease and the
association between poor dental health and acute
myocardial infarction (heart attack). The selected
patients had worse dental health than controls matched
for age and sex. The study showed that the relationship
between dental health and heart attack remained
significant even after adjustment for age, social
class, hypertension, serum lipid and lipoprotein
concentrations, smoking, presence of diabetes, and
serum C peptide concentration (which reflects
resistance to insulin).

that men will do anything for food, even if they have to
kill for it. Those who do will pay the price but the panic
and lawlessness will still prevail. I wish there was some
way we could tell the people and have them get prepared."
"We are, Ben. Those who choose to listen will take the
appropriate steps. Those who wish to carry on as children or
who foolishly believe it won't happen or somehow things will
just be all right, will also pay the price. All we can do is
spread the word. Those with ears to hear will heed and act."
"Kind of makes one feel like Noah must have felt doesn't
it? Warning the people while getting ready only to have them
laugh at you and watch you build the ark. Then when the
flood begins, guess who will come running?"
"That is the way of man, Ben. They think such warnings
are preposterous and will laugh and party along until it
becomes too late. They look upon the visionaries as if they
are fools and go about their daily business oblivious to
what they should be doing. This kind of thing has happened
many times in history before. It all boils down to those who
wish to hear."
"Sam, this is some conversation. How did we get on to it
anyway?"
"Well, while I was waiting for you to arrive I thought I
would look as far as I could into the future. I wanted to
get a glimpse of the work we might be called upon to do. I
wasn't paying any attention to that, at least for a while,
and I found myself surprised to see what is happening in
magazine articles and books being published on just this
subject. As you know we who live by higher law have no
concern over survival, but we will most certainly be dealing
with many of the lost."
"It's too bad we couldn't just cause all around us to
live by higher law just by a wave of the hand. Yet it is
right that each man must make the choice and the
commitment. Man has had thousands of years to get ready and
today many are finding the way. But there will be billions
die when the end times come. No church will be of help, only
a hindrance. Money won't solve their problems, only make
them worse. It will be a mess, Sam."
"I know, Ben. Yet that is by man's choice isn't it?"
"Yes. Can I have more of that coffee? When do you see
these things happening?"
"I am not the forecaster, Ben. You know and I know there
are many things involved. What I will do is tell you that
pretty consistently in nearly all literature and prophesying
on the subject, both ancient and present, the time period
that most often comes up is between 2020 A.D. and 2030 A.D.
I am not really sure how everyone seems to come to that
period but if you read the material they all seem to have
their ways and reasons. For man it all comes down to whether
he wants to believe what Jesus told him so long ago . . .
'Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and
all these things shall be added unto you.' It is the one and
only way, has nothing whatever to do with religion and man
cannot survive any other way. The message has been the same
message all down through the ages and man still refuses to
listen. They shall pay the price."
"Why should man listen, though, Sam? Look at what the
governments are saying, business is saying, churches are
saying. They are all proceeding as if there is nothing
wrong."
"Of course, Ben. They won't tell the people. They are
busy gathering in all their riches, preparing in the ways
they think they should. They all believe that the more money
they have the better off they'll be, so they are doing all
this behind the scenes. Even if the prophesies were true,
and they knew about them, these leaders would still pad
their nests long before they will tell the common people.
Indeed they will never tell the people, leaving them to
wallow in the conditions as they come. The one thing they
don't want is premature panic, or pressure to solve the
problem. One day it will get to a point where they cannot
solve the problem and then man will taste the fruit of his
thinking."
"Well, Sam, I thank my Maker and you for permitting me
to live by higher law. I am so thankful you are my friend
and that you showed me the way. When I look back on my life
and all the things I did I can hardly believe the
foolishness with which I conducted myself. Just like Jesus
says, nothing, not any thing, is more important than going
inside and seeking the kingdom of your Maker."
"Ben, I had nothing to do with your commitment. That
was you. I merely pointed out some things and you made all
the decisions. Yes, what a wonder to cross the veil of
simplicity and live as our Maker wants. I, too, share your
joy."
"Well, what are you two talking about? You look so
serious." Alewka had come out to join them.
"Hi, honey. Ben and I were just talking about what man
thinks are end times. It's a pretty heavy conversation. I
guess that's why you think we look serious."
"That is heavy. Did you solve any problems?"
"We weren't trying to, honey. We were only having a look
ahead to see the kind of work we might be doing in the
future."
"I imagine there will be much work. If you are talking
about end time prophesies, I can just imagine the world of
man when those things begin to happen."

Army had painted on their sides the letters "G. P" which
stood for "General Purpose". "G. P." when said quickly
became "jeep". the utterance of a character in the "Popeye"
comic strip of Elzie Crisler Segar. "Eugene the Jeep" who
confines himself to saying "Jeep,jeep, jeep" may have helped
popularize the word.

HA! HA! HA!
A minister concluded that his church was getting into
serious financial troubles.
Coincidentally, by chance, while checking the church
storeroom, he discovered several cartons of new bibles that
had never been opened and distributed. So at his Sunday
sermon, he asked for three volunteers from the congregation
who would be willing to sell the bibles door-to-door for $10
each to raise the desperately needed money for the church.
Peter, Paul and Louie all raised their hands to volunteer
for the task. The reverend knew that Peter and Paul earned
their living as salesmen and were likely capable of selling
some bibles but he had serious doubts about Louie. Louie was
just a little local farmer, who had always tended to keep to
himself because he was embarrassed by his speech impediment.
Poor little Louis stuttered very badly. But, not wanting to
discourage poor Louis, the reverend decided to let him try
anyway.
He sent the three of them away with the back seat of their
cars stacked with bibles and asked them to meet with him and
report the results of their door-to- door selling efforts
the following Sunday.
Anxious to find out how successful they were, the reverend
immediately asked Peter, "Well, Peter, how did you make out
selling our bibles last week?"
Proudly handing the reverend an envelope, Peter replied,
"Father, using my sales prowess, I was able to sell 20
bibles, and here's the $200 I collected on behalf of the
church."
"Fine job, Peter!" The reverend said, vigorously shaking his
hand. "You are indeed a fine salesman and the Church is
indebted to you."
Turning to Paul, he asked "And Paul, how many bibles did you
manage to sell for the church last week?"
Paul, smiling and sticking out his chest, confidently
replied," Reverend, I am a professional salesman and was
happy to give the church the benefit of my sales expertise.
Last week I sold 28 bibles on behalf of the church, and
here's $280 I collected."
The reverend responded, "That's absolutely splendid, Paul.
You are truly a professional salesman and the church is also
indebted to you."
Apprehensively, the reverend turned to little Louie and
said, "And Louie, did you manage to sell any bibles last
week?"
Louie silently offered the reverend a large envelope. The
reverend opened it and counted the contents. "What is this?"
the reverend exclaimed. "Louie, there's $3200 in here! Are
you suggesting that you sold 320 bibles for the church, door
to door, in just one week?
Louie just nodded.
That's impossible!" both Peter and Paul said in unison. "We
are professional salesmen, yet you claim to have sold 10
times as many bibles as we could."
"Yes, this does seem unlikely," the reverend agreed. "I
think you'd better explain how you managed to do accomplish
this, Louie."
Louie shrugged. "I-I-I- re-re-really do-do-don't kn-kn-know
f-f-f-for sh-sh-sh-sure," he stammered.
Impatiently, Peter interrupted. "For crying out loud, Louie,
just tell us what you said to them when they answered the
door!"
"A-a-a-all I-I-I s-s-said wa-wa-was," Louis replied,
"W-w-w-w-would y-y-y-you l-l-l-l-l-like t-t-to b-b-b-buy
th-th-th-this b-b-b-b-bible f-f-for t-t-ten b-b-b-bucks
---o-o-o-or--- wo-wo-would yo-you j-j-j-just l-like m-m-me
t-t-to st-st-stand h-h-here and r-r-r-r-r-read it t-to
y-y-you?"
