Yes. If you're a chronic worrier, here's another thing to
worry about: when you touch the gas pump to remove the
nozzle after filling up your tank, you can actually ignite a
fire! Static electricity generated by customers at
self-service gas stations caused an estimated 138 fires and
at least one death in the last decade. That's a tiny number
when you consider how many times people filled their tanks
in that period, but still a concern to anxiety-prone folk
like me. The fires are most likely to occur between November
and March, when the drier air creates better conditions for
static electricity.

A priest is walking down the street one day when he notices
a small boy tying to press a doorbell on a house across the
street. However, the doorbell is just out of his reace.
After watching the boy's efforts for some time, the priest
moves closer to the boy's position. He steps smartly across
the street, walks up behind the little fellow and, placing
his hand kindly on the child's shoulder leans over and gives
the doorbell a ring.
Crouching down to the child's level, the priest smiles
benevolently and asks, "And now what, my little man?"
To which the boy turns and yells, "NOW WE RUN!"
It seems to me this priest was making assumptions that might
now put him into an embarrassing position. He assumed the
boy was wanting to ring the doorbell and speak with anyone
who answered. The priest must have been an older fellow who
had forgotten the things he did as a boy.
Assumptions can get us into a great deal of difficulty, or
keep us from gaining our objective. We must learn to be
attentive every step of the way. Ask questions at every turn
to ensure you are fully aware of the condition as it
changes.
There is a story about Henry Ford who once took out an
engineer for lunch. Ford wanted to hire an engineer for a
certain project and this was part of his selection process.
The pair sat down, ordered, and spoke through the meal. When
the food arrived the engineer took the salt and pepper and
seasoned his meal as he always did when he ate. Ford never
hired him. It seems the man never tasted his food before he
added the salt and pepper. He had assumed it needed the
seasoning. Ford could not afford to have any engineer assume
anything. That is a sure recipe for failure.
Some fail to ask questions on the basis it makes them look
foolish. Poor excuse. If you ask a question you are ignorant
until you get the answer. If you don't ask you are ignorant
past the point of no return. Assuming can cause you to fail.
It is a disease that is based on vanity, ego, pride.
It is in your life too. You will undoubtedly experience it
once or twice, but pledge to your self you will...

Health Question About Tinnitus
PART 1 of 4
My name is Nancy and of course like many others I've been to my
GP and ENT for any kind of help for what I believe I have and is
Tinnitus. So with that said I'm hoping to find information
leading to a program that can be of help in at least giving me
some kind of relief for the constant ringing. My doctors admit
to knowing next to zero for any type of relief for Tinnitus but
I was hoping for out of the box type of program and came upon
your site, and now would welcome any and all info that would
lead me to some kind of positive information to try to lead me
in a self help program. Thank-you so much in advance.

As you already are experiencing, tinnitus is a noise, a ringing,
or a roaring sound in the affected ear. It is very disturbing
and sometimes actually causes pain. It is certainly very
uncomfortable. It may be described as the sound of escaping air,
running water, the inside of a seashell, or as a sizzling,
musical, buzzing, or humming noise. The "perceived" sounds
include ringing noises, blowing sounds, hissing, whistling, high
or low pitched sounds, roaring, pulsating sounds, and others.
A mild form of tinnitus is common. Many people hear noises for
several seconds or even minutes. However, persistent tinnitus
sometimes accompanies sensory hearing loss. Tinnitus may
interfere with the ability to concentrate or sleep and may cause
(understandable) psychological distress.

Floods, Greenhouse Gasses And War - What's New?
Floods in Africa have created 68,000 homeless and imminently
threaten 280,000 more. The Zambezi river has overflowed its
banks again. The last time this happened with this level of
severity was in 2000-2001.
People keep moving back onto the lowlands because of the
rich soil brought there by flooding. It’s a catch 22
situation. They come because of the rich soil but they know
they will be flooded out.
In another story Indonesia is perplexed over what to do with
its rich peat-lands. They have been illegally forested and
then settled. These lands used to absorb huge amounts of
carbon dioxide. Instead, today because of the clearing and
draining, the put thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide into
the atmosphere.
This is a condition like that vast area of frozen tundra in
Russia. There the permafrost is melting and the land is
giving off huge quantities of methane.
All in all there are huge amounts of greenhouse gasses being
put into the atmosphere from so many sources it is difficult
to count them all. They will all contribute to the problem.
I see there is some hope today of buying off North Korea’s
future nuclear weapon development. The deal is essentially
we will give you lots if you are good boys. That ought to
hold things for maybe a year.
I also see the rhetoric is heating up over Iran. Who knows
what will come next?

Aback: What is the reason we say that a person who is
surprised is "taken aback"
It's a nautical term. When the sails of a square-rigged
sailing ship are suddenly carried by the wind back against
the mast - as sometimes happens in a strong gale - the ship
is "taken aback" and stopped dead. So, too, a person halted
abruptly by some new development is "taken aback".

A man left for work one Friday afternoon. But, being payday,
instead of going home, he stayed out the entire weekend
partying with the boys and spending his entire paycheck.
When He finally appeared at home, Sunday Night, he was
confronted by a very angry wife and was barraged for nearly
two hours. Finally his wife stopped the nagging and simply
said to him. How would you like it if you didn't see me for
