Which are more nutritional: brown eggs or white eggs?
The color of the eggs doesn't matter. Both are equally
nutritional and taste the same. The reason some eggs
are brown is because they are laid by rust-red chickens
(such as the Rhode Island Red). White eggs come from
white chickens (such as the White Leghorn). Some
people believe that brown eggs are more nutritional
(perhaps on observing that brown flour, brown bread
and brown sugar are), but they're mistaken.
Do raccoons really wash their food before eating it?
Raccoons have often been observed dousing their food in
water, sometimes repeatedly, before eating it. Biologists
don't know for sure that they're really "washing" the food,
though. Instead of fastidiousness, it could just be that the
raccoon (who is accustomed to finding food in shallow water)
might like food that is wet. It has also been suggested that
the washing action is really intended to make the raccoon's
forepaws softer and more pliable.

Reality Check!

The grizzled old sea captain was quizzing a young,
tyro naval student. "What steps would you take if a
sudden storm came up on the starboard?"
"I'd throw out an anchor, sir."
"What would you do if another storm sprang up aft?"
"I'd throw out another anchor, sir."
"But what if a third storm sprang up forward?"
"I'd throw out another anchor, captain."
"Just a minute, son. Where in the world are you
getting all these anchors?"
"From the same place you're getting all your
storms, sir."
Such is life. Every once in a while we need to get our
feet back on solid ground.
I can't think of a better time of year to do that than right
now when things are usually slower than the norm.
We should have a real look at what we accomplished last
year, relative to our goals. I know I started out with big
plans and did not achieve them. Yet in a strange way I
did achieve them.
The reality check says I do not have the money in my
pocket that I planned on. However, it also says that through
the course of the year I learned a lot, gained confidence
and if I should keep on my same path my objective will
indeed appear.
I realize things change from time to time, day to day. I
realized that the thoughts and ideas I began with have
been changed, amended, clarified. I realize those changes
have only made me better equipped to accomplish my
objective.
The reality is that last year I was not yet ready to achieve
what I thought. This year, I am. Interesting isn't it.
I could have quit a dozen times last year, what with no
results here and no results there. I became so frustrated
at times that the easiest thing in the world would have
been to quit.
Yet reality says nothing - - - NOTHING - - - is in vain if
you keep on keepin' on.
In other words if you continually see yourself, in your
minds eye, as a successful individual, having certain
material goods around you; if that image never wavers,
if you are constant with that image - - - - it will come to pass.
Yes, you will have failures along the way, many of them.
At least I hope you do for if you do not then you aren't
doing anything. The failures not only show you the way
not to go, they have a way of showing you what to do next.
In truth, I wish upon you hundreds of failures. The more
the merrier. For when you fail often you are on the fast
track to getting your objective.
The failures build your confidence, your determination,
your resolve. Or so it should. Just remember quitting is
easy. Anyone can quit. It takes a person of firm resolve
to carry on where all the signs are against you. That is
why there are so few millionaires, compared to
non-millionaires.
Reality says keep on keepin' on. Stay true to your
objective. Fear not failure. Look at it as a friend for it
brings you one step closer to your goal.

Many families face this dilemma and there are logical
solutions. If she can't handle the hours of care, and
he is to stay at home, someone must step in and take
over the role of the main caregiver. She should now
be allowed to "visit" and sit with her beloved husband
as long as she feels the desire and be free to leave
to get some rest without any thought of giving care.
Although this sounds logical, and fairly easy, for most
spouses, male and female, it's the most heart-wrenching
thing to do! They feel tremendous guilt! And they also
feel no one can give the kind of care they can. And of
course they feel they owe this last bit of care to the
patient. But in actual fact, most of this care is routine
and we teach care aides, not registered nurses, to give
the personal care. And if you aren't trained, you could
easily harm both the patient and yourself. . . not a good
position to be in. So wouldn't it be much more pleasant
for the mother to visit whenever she wants to and have
all these shared an treasured times rather than watch
the suffering of the end stage from the tiredness and
frustration that comes to her naturally?
By the spouse visiting instead of being the main
caregiver, some things can be dealt with. Proper
furniture and good equipment must be available. It's
very difficult to give care when you have to bend in
awkward positions. And transfer lifts to lift the person
either in or out of bed are readily available. This is
necessary for toileting. The toxins build up in the body
if they are not allowed to be removed. If the person
can't get to the toilet, how would they be eliminated
from the body?

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"Gee, Maz! That's a good idea. Some of these fellas are
pretty talented. I think I can do that, and I'll bet they will
enjoy it. I'll start right away." answered David.
"Don't do too many all at once. I don't know how they
will be accepted, but it seemed to me to be a good
idea." said Mazunta.
Mazunta and Romano carried on back to the hut. The
girls were just getting ready to call them as they walked up.
"I see you've been reading my mind again Maz. You are
just in time for lunch." said Eloise.
"Bueno, you know I think of you always." said Maz,
seizing on the opportunity to make brownie points.
She clipped him on his arm. "You never miss a beat do
you big boy?" she laughed.
The four of them sat down to a nice lunch in the shade
of the hut. The baby stirred and Eloise got up to feed her.
Putting her down again in the tripod swing, she gave
a gentle push.
"One thing about this tripod swing, it swings for a long
time. Babies like to fall asleep in it. At least our baby
does." said Eloise.
"Mom and Dad don't know you have a baby. They'll be
thrilled to know you have a baby girl. Maybe I should
bring them here one day, to see." Oomano was thinking
of the affection her folks had for Eloise.
"That would be terrific!" said Eloise, "Bring them soon."
They ate and enjoyed one another's company. Then it
was time for Oomano and Romano to leave.
Having said their goodbyes they vanished from the
village, only to instantly reappear at Oomano's home.
The went inside and there was her Mom and Dad and
Riata. The kids were outside playing.
"What's wrong? Why are you home Daddy? You are
usually working this time of day. All of you sitting around
like this, what's wrong?" asked Oomano, as she began
to pick up vibes of something gone awry.
"Romano, sit down for a minute. We have some bad
news." said Miguele, gently.
Romano did as he was told, but he did not have to. He
already knew what had happened. He had quickly tuned
in to the minds around him and then over to his home.
"Your Mother died this morning. Worse, it looks like your
Father was in a drunken stupor and is the one who killed
her." said Miguele. He knew of no other way to deliver
bad news than to give it straight.
"I know. I knew this would come to this. This is the correct
culmination of the actions they have lived all their lives.
I must go home to tend to my brothers and sister. Thank
you Miguele. I may have to bring them over here. I will
see." responded Romano. He was sad, very sad, about
his Mother, yet he knew she was much better off now,
and free. He was also sad that his Father could have done
this for he would pay a price he knew not.
Romano arrived home just as police were wrapping up
their investigation. Romano did not see his parents. Only
his siblings were there.
The police questioned him, of course. Because of his
activities before he learned to live by higher law, the police
knew him well. It was impossible for them to believe he
had changed. As a result they grilled him with every
question they could think of, looking for something they
could get him on.
Romano knew what was going on so he played along.
He did, however, display an calm that was unusual and
with which the police were not familiar. Soon they tired
and let him go.
The police advised Romano they had called authorities to
come and pick up his brothers and sister. Now the parents
were dead or in jail they needed the proper authorities to
look after them.
To this Romano raised his hand. "No, I will look after them."
He spoke with an authority the police had not heard from
anywhere before. It shook them. It was so solid they had
no argument against it.
Romano signaled his brothers and sister to come close
to him. They did. They gathered around him close.

Wow! Another day of tweaking. It was a busy one yesterday
because I once again began working on formatting another

couple weeks. I will finish the task today.
