Do baby ducks really follow the first moving thing they see?
Yes. A few hours after they've hatched, ducklings become
fixated on the first large, moving thing they see. This attachment
is called "imprinting" and it helps the mother duck by making
it easy for her to keep her brood together. Once imprinting
has happened, the ducklings will blindly follow the object
they've attached to. Almost all of the time, that first moving
object is the mother duck, since other creatures are driven
away by the mother at the time of hatching. Mistakes DO
happen, though, and ducklings will sometimes form their
attachment to an adult of the wrong species.
Do bats really drink blood?
Only a few do. Of the thousands of species of bats in the world,
only three are known to suck blood. (Most other bats eat bugs,
flowers, or fruits. Some hunt birds and small animals.) Vampire
bats are one species that DO drink blood - mostly that of cattle
and other domestic animals. The bats are pretty small (about
three inches long). They use their sharp teeth to bite into the
animal and begin lapping. An anticoagulant in their saliva
keeps the blood from clotting until they're done with their
meal.

Changes And Things!

We are commencing a change in pattern today with
news from theNEWSSHOP.
Our regular columnist for Mondays, John Colanzi has
made a decision to do a project that will not permit him
the time for writing. Thanks John for all your fine work
in the past. We appreciate your knowledge, your talent
and your sharing it with us.
In this column and in Fridays column, usually
Cornpone and Treewood, we are going to
bring you what news we can about what is happening
on the net, with theNEWSSHOP, with anything we can
bring you we feel will be of value to you.
We would appreciate any comments you might have
that will help us make this column better.
The first news we want to bring you is a tasty little bit.
Did you know this year the internet will disappear?
That's right it will vanish.
Now, before you become alarmed, let me tell you it is
good news. The statement comes from e-agency who
have stated that according to their surveys this year the
internet will actually become so well used it will no longer
be thought of as something new, different, or separate.
It will be used so regularly by so many it will not even be
thought of it will disappear like the car, the phone, the
cell phone.
Imagine that! The internet will become that common it
will no longer be thought about as different. It will become
a common tool used by most folks as if it was always there,
a part of their lives. In fact the internet will be the first tool
used by many, and just a natural part of everyday life.
I don't know what that will do for your marketing, but I can
tell you that folks selling hard goods like cars, houses,
anything, will be out there discovering new ways to bring
us news of their products or services over the net.
This will all be triggered by the extensive use the US
politicians will be giving the internet in this years
Presidential Elections. They will be on the net constantly
and coming up with all sorts of new and different ways
to catch your eye.
It sounds to me like it is time to "standardize" our work a
little and bring it more into the mainstream of public life.
Rather than promoting "Become An Instant Millionaire",
we should be promoting goods and services that offer
"hard" value.
I don't have a crystal ball, friends, I can only see that
things are going to be changing on us and we best
change with it or we will be "changed right out of
business".
Think about it.

All this equipment is available from medical supply
places or pharmacies. Your doctor will have all sorts
of helpful information. One more very important point
to mention here is safety, for both the caregiver and
the patient. Falls are common. Many caregivers are
hurt in their attempt to try and break the fall of the
patient. That ends up with the care giver needing
treatment. And often there isn't the usual insurance
coverage without some special arrangement with an
insurance company. So prevention is key! Get a lift
to do the work. And I always suggest that everyone
who is going to handle the lift, should be lifted up
themselves. You nee to build confidence in its function
and you can do that quickly by learning all parts of
the machine. You may also need extra nursing hours
of care and there are many agencies available. Again,
your doctor's office will be able to help. Or ask amongst
friends. Just make sure adequate insurance coverage
is in place. The qualified nursing person should also
be able to teach you how to handle the lift. If the person
comes from an agency, please check their credentials
carefully. They will be in your home for long periods
and sometimes alone with your loved one. Make sure
they are bonded and have had a valid criminal record
check. Make sure they have been trained by an
accredited college. This is not the time to go for the
lowest price. Some serious organization of activities
and shared expenses must also be openly discussed.
Decisions have to be made. Money is a very delicate
subject. Many women still do not handle the family
finances and have no idea what state their finances
are. Some delicate questioning might be needed. It
may be the reason no outside help is forthcoming.
And maybe that's the reason there has been no
discussion about home support equipment. Maybe
insurance will provide some relief, but no matter
what, the money issue needs to be addressed.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

Just then the social worker appeared to take the kids.
Romano held up his hand unto her as well and repeated
his statement. She stopped in her tracks, unable to think
of any rebuttal. His words rang with an authority she could
not contest.
Projecting love that was so strong it overpowered the
children they stood powerless of speech, and absorbed
this wonderful feeling of love Romano was sending unto
them. They had not ever in their young lives felt so
accepted, so loved, so wanted. They clung to him like glue.
Soon all the police and others had gone. Romano crouched
down on his knees to speak to his brothers and sister.
There was Pietro, eleven, Sandero, nine, and Marrietta, eight.
"Our lives have changed this day kids. All the things we
used to know and do will now be different. I think we can
change things for the better, if you like, what do you
think?" asked Romano.
The children were in a state of shock. They had just lost
their Mother and Father in one blow. Even though an
onlooker might think that would be a good thing, for they
were anything but good parents, they were still the only
adults the children knew as parents. They cried.
Romano knew he had to get the children out of this house
and away from the streets. If he did not they would very
quickly become the street orphans Miguele picked up
once in a while.
"Come, let's take a walk. Let's get out of this house. It has
bad memories." he said to the kids as he began to move
slowly toward the door. "Is there anything you want to
bring with you?"
Little Marrietta ran to her bed and, there, picked up a
raggy old doll that was nearly falling apart.
Romano took her free hand in one of his. The boys were
too "tough" to take his hand.
Slowly, gently, without telling them what he was doing,
Romano began to walk over to Miguele and Abetta's
house. He knew his family would be better off there, and
he would discuss with them the best plan of action.
They were leaving this house and this district for the last
time, never to return.
"Why did Daddy do that awful thing to
Mommy?" asked Marrietta.
"I am not sure Marrietta. Mommy and Daddy were fighting
I guess. Daddy was drunk and out of his mind. He just
got mad enough that he took a knife after Mommy, without
even thinking. He will pay a very heavy price for
that." answered Romano.
"Where has Mommy gone, to heaven?" asked Marrietta.
"Not quite, Marrietta. Mommy has gone back to be with
her Maker. It is a wonderful place full of peace and love.
She is better off now than she has ever been, and she
has no more burdens. Your Mommy is safe and happy.
She is watching you now, and she will look out for you
from another place." said Romano.
"But the church says we go to heaven." said Marrietta.
"You can call it heaven, Marrieatta. However these things
are rarely what the church prefers to tell you. The church
has little interest in giving you truth. They are interested
in you coming back, so they tell you things, even false
things, to make you feel good." said Romano.
"But where will we go now?" asked the inquisitive Marrietta.
"I'm going to take you over to visit friends of mine. One of
them is a lady I am going to marry. I think you will like her.
There are a bunch of kids there, too. I think that will be
good for us today. We must take a little time to do some
thinking and we need to break away from the events of
this day." said Romano.
"Will be be going home again, Romano?" asked Pietro.
"Well, bro, I don't know. I thought maybe, if we stay at my
friends tonight, we would talk about that tomorrow. How
would that be?" he was asking all three.
In unison they answered, "That would be alright."
Romano knew the love and friendship the kids would
experience at Oomano's would be so strong they would
want to stay.

REPORT FOR: January 05/04 - DAY 365
Some of you may be wondering why the end date does not
quit coincide with our start date. That is because for the holidays
we do not publish, like Christmas and New Years. I continued
the counting as if those holidays didn't happen. We are
nonetheless within ten days of the start date anniversary.
Now for a concluding report.
As you all know I am not making $5000 per month from any
project I began as a result of taking Kevin's program. So, one
might conclude I, or Kevin, failed. Yet it will not be me that
draws that conclusion, neither should it be Kevin.
I found all sorts of valuable information in Kevin's program
that took me to wide and varied places last year. I had a
learning curve that was incredible by Kevin's standards
and I went through the steps.
Many times I became lost and called on Kevin for direction,
and received it. Many times I was so confused by the
capabilities of some new things that came up that I couldn't
find my way through only to have Kevin there to instantly
give me direction.
In the final analysis would I pronounce this project a
success for me? Yes, I would. Here is why. No man
succeeds overnight. It is the culmination of continued
effort and commitment. Kevin covers that in the first
chapters and keeps it up. My success is my responsibility.
There are no magic bullets. So to keep on, using the steps
Kevin has suggested, is the key. In that sense I feel the
project very much a success.
The project ultimately led to our product the Internet
Marketing Package that we market under the name
theNEWSSHOP. I find it almost impossible to see how
we could have created the product without Kevin's
course and the knowledge he imparts therein.
I guess the real test would be, knowing what I know now,
would I still think it a good idea to purchase Kevin's
course. You bet it's a good idea. I would recommend it
to anyone who genuinely wants to be successful. It is
terrific. It will not make you rich unless you want to be,
but if there is the slightest glimmer of commitment within
you to succeed on the net, then Kevin Bidwell's program
will be the place to begin.
We will keep this column open, not so much as a
countdown on the use of Kevin's program, but simply
as a place to report the things we are doing here. Some
of you have taken an interest in our daily activities and
here is where we will continue to report them.
