TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------

What "Ma" was the head of an infamous criminal gang?

When did Mother's Day first come into being?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

Is true that the government has declared salsa a
vegetable for purposes of serving it in kid's lunches?

Salsa is a vegetable, says the US Agriculture Department,
at least for purposes of counting vegetable servings in
school lunches. Under the salsa regulation, schools can
get credit for a fruit or vegetable serving if they provide at
least one-eighth of a cup of salsa (a spicy sauce usually
made with tomatoes, peppers and onions). The USDA is
quick to point out that this is TOTALLY DIFFERENT than
the mess the Reagan administration got into when it tried
to declare ketchup a vegetable for school lunches. Officials
note that they refer to salsa as a vegetable salad. They
also point out that ketchup is largely made of vinegar
and sweeteners and that the goal of the ketchup-as-
vegetable rule was to cut costs from the school lunch
program. The goal of the salsa-as-vegetable rule, on the
other hand, is to produce more low-fat, interesting food
options for kids.

What "Ma" was one of the first female superheros?

Mathilda "Ma" Hunkel, a.k.a. The Red Tornado, was one
of the first female superheros and the very first female to
become a member of the famous "Justice Society of
America." Appearing in "All-American Comics" in 1939,
Ma was the mother of Scribbly, a boy cartoonist who
appeared in a humorous series by Sheldon Mayer. In
issue 20 of the All-American, Ma stole the spotlight from
her son when, inspired by his hero-worship of the male
superhero Green Lantern, she donned a pair of red
longjohns, a cape, and a saucepan to become
"Red Tornado." As Red Tornado, she successfully fought
a criminal protection racket that was plaguing the
neighborhood. Unfortunately, when the male superheros
first met to form the famous "Justice Society of America,"
Red Tornado wasn't invited. She crashed the meeting
anyway, entering through a window. Ma Hunkel never
participated in a Justice Society case, but her presence
at the meeting was enough to earn her membership in
the JSA and make her the first female JSA member. The
second female member was the more-famous
Wonder Woman.

Isn't Sales The Purpose Of Advertising?
by Valerian Dinca

I am sure you know that advertising is vital to our
business. Whether it's free, whether it's paid, the
key is to assign it to a purpose and to use it
accordingly.

"Isn't sales the purpose of advertising?" you might
have a question to me. Well, no, at least not always.
For instance, while writing your ads you should
focusing two main points Visitors and Exposure.

1. Focusing Visitors.
May be your ad is not large enough to tell everything
about what you sell. Think about a 5 lines ad.You
will spend two lines with headline and link (direction).
What about to write first in three remaining lines?
In this situation a good choice is to gain the readers
attention and to send them to your site where you
have the sales letter.

2. Focusing exposure.
Put yourself in the reader position. You have on your
screen a list running tens of ads. Will you read
everyone? Probably not. You will read one, two,
three... but not the entire list. May be the most
interesting ad is swimming between the rest.

Going back to advertiser position, lack of exposure
makes your ad quite impossible to be noticed. To
improve your ad exposure you have two choices : A
Top Sponsor Ad or A Solo Ad.

A Top Sponsor Ad is the first ad you see on a list.
Most of the time it is personalized to catch the reader's
attention. By the consequence it has a high exposure
related to the rest ones. Top Sponsor Ad is a good
solution when you can describe well your product in
only 3-4 lines or you focus visitors.

A Solo Ad gets you the maximum exposure because
it is exclusive per issue and well personalized. Another
advantage of Solo Ad is you have enough room to write
about your product, it is like a selling letter going to a
large readers base.

Of course, for a Top Sponsor or Solo Ad you must
pay more, but if you take care to chose the most
appropriate list(s) you will have the money back
plus a good profit. Do not think that you will succeed
choosing by random a list with a large base of
subscribers. Better use a small one that is close
targeted to your product and if is possible run
your solo or top ad twice. If you need to change
something, change the ad not the ezine.

Stress And How It Affects Your Physical Body
A Few Ideas To Enhance Your Fitness Level.
PART 6 of 9

I mentioned earlier that everyone is unique...so you cannot take
on the responsibility of the other person's feelings. They have
to learn to deal with those themselves. Those are THEIR choices:
with accompanying causes and the resulting effects. They too
need to set their own boundaries. It's important to remember
that those belong to them: not to you.

And once you practice this with a bit of confidence, it's
immensely freeing! And, of course, much healthier for your body.
This is prevention at its best because it is caught right at the
source! Yes, in the short term, it will be stressful, but in the
long run, it can possibly prevent unhealthy conditions. One you
practice this conscious activity and experience practical and
positive results, it will help everyone move back to their own
corners, allowing you to be yourself. And others can be
themselves. This is the classic cause and effect, and it happens
everywhere and to everyone. It took me a long time to "get it".
Once I learned how to do this diplomatically, I felt it was time
to help them apply it to their lives. Let's talk a little more
about boundaries. It's all part of the rule-setting that goes
along with conscious decision-making and taking control. Let me
give you a negative example. (Here boundaries were in place and
discussions were had, yet the cause and effect had long-lasting
results.)

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.

Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.

The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.

The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

Abetta and Miguele wanted to know about all of
them. They hadn't seen them since Missy's wedding.

"Mr. Ben says he is looking very much forward to
coming. Mrs. Susan is really excited. She will be
coming too. I think it will be a wonderful wedding
Papa." said Oomano.

"Oh! My Goodness. When we visited Missy we did not
go to ask Mrs. Mae or David and Pamela. We will have
to go there tomorrow. We want to talk to Missy and
Mazunta anyway." said Oomano.

She was real talkative tonight and kept on. "Riata can I
have my favorite sister beside me, as my bridesmaid?
And Romano do you want someone to stand by you,
maybe just to hold you up so you won't run away?" she
laughed.

Romano came over to her and put his fingers under her
arms and tickled. "Now who's teasing?" he asked, "I don't
know. Maybe Mazunta will stand with me just to protect
me from you." he laughed back.

The conversation covered all bases and there was much
joy and planning going on. With the three of them living by
higher law there wasn't anything they wanted for. The
planning was a good event in itself and ended up in a very
tasteful affair being planned. There was nothing extravagant
because of higher law. Only what was nice or necessary.

The kids all sat around the table enthralled at all this talking.
They were aware of the plans and listened to them. They
were invited to participate in the wedding at certain points
and they knew this was a big deal. They knew it was
important stuff.

The following day Riata again agreed, and happily so, to
look after the kids again. Oomano and Romano were once
more off extending invitations.

They appeared on the beach, near the river. The day was
a hot one with the rains now giving way to the hot season.

Walking up the beach they stopped by the place where
David and his workmen were busy carving away.

"Hi David. How are you?" asked Romano.

"Hi Romano. It's good to see you. I'm fine and you?" he
asked.

"Oh, we're great." he said, stepping aside so David could
see Oomano.

"Hi Oomano!" David came forward and gave her a hug.
"What are you guys doing here today?"

"We came to ask you and Pam to our wedding, and
Mrs. Mae, too. Will you come?" asked Oomano.

"You darn well better guess we'll come. We wouldn't miss
that for any reason. Com'on, lets go tell Pam." and David
put his tools down, spoke to his foreman and they started
walking up to his hut.

Pam and the kids were there just starting lunch. Mae was
there helping. They watched the trio coming up.

"Hi you two. How are you doing?" asked Pam.

"Hi Pam. We're fine. You and the kids?" asked Romano

"All is well as you might imagine." answered Pam.

They sat down, had lunch and invited all of them to the
wedding. They all said they would come and were actually
thrilled with the idea.

Following that the couple walked over to ask Boolanga,
Karmuz and the kids. Then they went over to ask Mazunta's
folks, and then they stopped at Eloise and Mazunta's.

"Hi you two. You're back here pretty quick. What's up?"
asked Eloise.

"Hi Missy. We came to invite others in the village. We
wanted to do it in person. Then we wanted to ask you if
it would be alright if Romano and I used your honeymoon
hut for our honeymoon?" she asked.

Missy looked at Mazunta. He answered. "I think that would
be fine Oomano, but it does involve our village. So I will
take it to the village elders, if only as a courtesy, and then
report back to you. I think it'll be fine though."

Riata got a call. It was from Reno, at the shrine.
