thePEBBLE - 01/05/06 - Are You A Pattern? Or a Creator?
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
A typical, obviously American, community. Two young people
given an opportunity for an a adventure with an attainable
financial reward. Their adventure into the inkonwn, not
restrained by dogmatic rules or community restraints, leads
them to resources that change no only the two adventurers'
attitudes, but attitudes of others.
The reader will either come away with a a feeling of
wonderment or question the writer's declared source, his
Maker, for the content.
I was not envious of the characters' adventures but enjoyed
the book as it refreshed the wonderment I had as a youth and
now as a practical adult, to "think outside the box" about
powers that are within us.

Honourable Joe Clark, the former Prime Minister of Canada
It took me back to my youth and now inspires me to "think
outside the box".

What is ambergris?
Ambergris is a waxy substance found floating in or on the
shores of tropical waters. It originates in the intestines
of the sperm whale and is used as a fixative in perfume in
the West and as a spice in the East.
Is it true that Emily Dickinson was a recluse?
Emily Dickinson, one of America's best poets, was indeed
reclusive. She rarely left her home in Amherst,
Massachusetts, and sometimes would not even come downstairs
from her bedroom to greet visiting friends. Nevertheless,
she wasn't a total hermit. Emily did correspond with others.
She also graduated from Amherst Academy and attended Mount
Holyoke Seminary for one year. Emily's passion was for the
inner life. By the time of her death in 1886, she had
produced almost 1,800 poems and left them in neatly tied
packets, carefully dated.

Here's To Think On ...
with Ken Darby
------------------------------------
Are You A Pattern? Or a Creator?
"Doctor, I'd like you to evaluate my 13 year-old son."
"OK: He's suffering from a transient psychosis with an
intermittent rage disorder, punctuated by episodic radical
mood swings, but his prognosis is good for full recovery."
"How can you say all that without even meeting him?"
"I thought you said he's 13?"
Well! The doctor didn't even need to see the boy. He just
called out the universal description. It fit.
Of course it fit. There are similar descriptions for every
age, yours too. How do you like that? How do you like
knowing you are predictable, your every step can be measured
and even predicted in advance?
That is pretty much what happens when you stay in a rut.
Once you get "comfortable" you also become "predictable".
Generally, when you become "comfortable" you also become
less "profitable".
It's time to think. Where are you? Are you still pursuing
dreams, like you did in your youth? Are you still active
trying to find answers to new things? Do you continue to
chase the rainbow?
If not then time and circumstance may have worked their
wonders on you. You may have succumbed to a notion in your
own mind, that you are not going to make it the way you
thought.
And, so, you stop your effort. A little switch goes off in
your head that says "I'm tired of being out front. I'm tired
of always looking. I'm tired of not having all the money I
want. I might be better off 'settling' down."
That little thought is the killer of all future advancement.
That is the little gremlin inside you that tries to keep you
from succeeding. If you listen to it - - - you fail.
The gremlin is sinister in it's approach. It sneaks up on
you when you are too tired to defend yourself against it. It
plants these kind of thoughts when you aren't looking.
It is time for you to have a look at how many of these kinds
of thoughts have come into your mind in the last year. How
have you reacted to them? Have you taken control or have you
turned control over to it?
Each person may choose to win or choose to lose. Their life
will reflect what they chose. The absence of a choice to win
is usually a choice for failure. Failure can come automatic.
Success takes planning and work.
What are you going to choose, this day? Will you take the
course of least resistance? Or will you put on your "tough"
hat and take charge of your life and direct it the way you
want?
Are You A Pattern? Or a Creator?

Anatomy And Physiology (A&P)
The Make Up Of Your Body And
How It Functions
PART 5 of 9
Now let's move to the functions of this living cell. Don't ever
let anymore tell you that if you have a problem in one area of
your body that it doesn't really affect another part. It does.
The body is an incredible machine and is connected to everything
in it. And its response is very fast. All parts are interrelated
and interconnected. No action is too small for it not to make a
difference or have an effect. And that also shows the body's
incredible adjusting power. Most times you won't even know
something is being adjusted to make another part work better or
keep up.
Since nothing with nature happens in a vacuum, it has to do
something. This is the physiology of the living organism. It is
designed to act a certain way. On its own, it's virtually
useless. Together, with millions of identical cells, it now
produces activities or behaviors that are measurable. Again,
the truth is that you can function perfectly if your cells are
anatomically perfect. Everything they need to survive and do
their job is present. Conversely in "unhealth" or the presence
of dis-ease, the cell is not anatomically correct and
subsequently cannot function as designed.
It's like your vacuum cleaner. Take away one of its parts and
either it won't work at all or will do a poor job. And if you
don't remove the soil that has plugged it or fixed the parts
that don't work, it won't do the job. It's still considered a
vacuum, but it's pretty useless.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET
<><><><>
THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby
--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts
The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.
The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

"But wait a minute, of course they want to be sure you
are teaching things right. That is what they stand for."
"Are you absolutely certain that is the only reason,
Kathy?"
"I'm not sure what you mean."
"What do you think they would say if you began to teach
what Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 6: 19
- 31? Do you think they would replace you?"
"I don't know. I'm not familiar with that part of the
bible."
"That's the part where Jesus tells you not to think
about food, clothing or shelter but instead think about the
Kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.
What do you think if you began to teach as if you believed
that? Do you think the church would allow you to continue?"
"Well . . . I'm not sure."
"Often, Kathy, that is the kind of answer we get from
those who are afraid to give the real answer. Think on that
question. Do you really think the church would allow you to
continue if you were teaching that?"
"No, I guess you're right."
"That is the right answer. It really does not matter to
me that you answer correctly. You can answer any way you
wish. I know the answer as it pertains to me and it is that
which is important to me. I ask the question because what is
important to you is the thinking you are doing. The more you
question who you are and how you got to be here, this far,
the more you will change and become more. If it happens
those questions are along the lines of what Jesus taught
then you will be on a path that will really bear fruit for
you, especially if you commit yourself to learning those
lessons."
"But there is no one around here who lives like that. It
all looks like a bunch of smoke and mirrors."
"Yes, that's true. That is why you go inside and learn
to listen to your Maker. The things we say you should not
accept just because we said them. You should go inside and
ask your Maker and listen to the answers. They will be
subtle at first. Often you will get answers you don't like,
yet they will be true. The more you learn to listen the
better your life will go."
"But why aren't there more people around like you and
Sharon?"
"There are many, Kathy. If you need help at any time
from this moment on, all you need do is think of Sharon or
myself. See us in your mind's eye and once you have the
picture, then in your mind call us. You will be surprised at
how quickly we appear. From this time you will have help and
an example. Is that what you want?"
"That would certainly be a help."
"You do understand, I trust, that we will not be doing
things for you, that we will be there to guide and
encourage. We do not miracles just to please you. You must
learn to do them yourself. So, if you begin to show you are
not really interested in progressing down the path, we will
no longer be available to you. This is no game. If you are
serious and you commit to learning higher law you will have
help."
"Where do you live? You can't come just because we
call?"
"You let us take care of that. We will handle the
situation. If we cannot come, we will send someone who is
equally gifted."
"What do you want of us?"
"Nothing. We seek no reward. It is our work to spread
the message and to work with those who hear. All choices are
yours, not ours. We have everything we need and it is our
pleasure to give back. We have, over the last week, spent
time with you in order to show you what things you can do
and have. Now it is up to you. The first lesson is for you
to learn that you, alone, are responsible for who and what
you are. When you accept that, then you will be interested
in doing what Jesus taught. You cannot go on forever,
blindly thinking that in the end things will be okay. You
must think that way based on knowledge, not hope. You can
guarantee things will be okay, when you learn the laws."
"But you have done so much for us, surely you want
something!"
"No, Kathy, there is nothing you can give us we do not
already have. We care not for material goods and what few we
have is only for our temporary use. We can travel at will,
as you have seen and we can manifest anything we wish to
have, as you have also seen. We need nothing."
"Let me get this straight. You have helped us out more
than anyone else and you ask nothing in return?"
"Does your Maker ask for thanks because the sun shines
everyday? The laws were established long ago and are for
the use of all men. Use them to your benefit or to your
detriment, the choice is yours. If we help you it is us who
will reap the reward. We need nothing. The great law is, 'As
ye sow, so shall ye reap.' What thoughts you feed into your
mind are the thoughts that will produce the kind of life you
are living. If those thoughts are the thoughts of your Maker
and the laws then you shall do as we do. That is the great
promise of the one you say you worship."
"You keep speaking of Jesus as if he were the only
teacher. Is he?"
Things went quiet, deathly quiet. The room was filled
with light so brilliant it was like the sun, yet it did not
hurt one's eyes.
"Oh! O . . .oo . . .o . . ." Kathy knew what was
happening. She burst out in tears and fell to the floor.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
WHY DO WE SAY IT?
Fast and Loose: What is the reason a person indulging in
trickery is said to be playing "fast and loose"?
"Fast and loose" was the name of one of the "skin games"
played at fairs in England in the Middle Ages. The trickster
folded a belt and then asked a player to pin it fast to the
table with a skewer. After the player had done this the
trickster suggested a bet. Then he loosed the belt and
showed it to all, showing them that it had not been pierced
by the skewer anywhere.

HA! HA! HA!
The Santa Claus at the mall was very surprised when a young
lady about twenty years old walked up and sat on his lap.
Santa doesn't usually take requests from adults, but she
smiled very nicely at him, so he said, "OK, you can ask for
something but it has to be for someone other than yourself.
What do you want for Christmas?"
"Something for my mother," said the young lady.
"Something for your mother? Well, that's very thoughtful of
you," smiled Santa. "What do you want me to bring her? "
Without blinking she replied, "A son-in-law!"
