TODAY'S TRIVIA - - -
-----------------------

How did New York's Times Square get its name?

Who was Genghis Khan?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

What US city is largest in area?

Nope, it's not New York. Not Los Angeles. It's Juneau,
Alaska. Just how big is Juneau? Try 3,108 square miles (8050
square km). (Los Angeles, by comparison, is a mere 458.2
square miles.)

What US city has the largest population?

In terms of population, New York is indeed the largest city
in the US (7,322,564) and Los Angeles comes in second
(3,485,398). Juneau has only 26,751 inhabitants. (All
population figures are from 1990 census).

------------------------------------

The Ones We Love - - We Hurt!

While attending a marriage seminar on communication, Tom and
his wife Peg listened to the instructor declare, "It is
essential that husbands and wives know the things that are
important to each other."

He addressed the men, "Can you describe your wife's favorite
flower ?"

Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and
whispered, "Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"

The rest of the story is not pleasant...

How often do we overlook those nearest and dearest to us, in
pursuit of our careers or other interests?

This little joke, above, is really saying it is about time
we got deeper into our relationship with our loved ones.

I remember giving my wife flowers once, quite some time ago.
It was just a thing of the moment. I was passing some
beautiful flowers and it suddenly occurred to me my wife
would like some.

When I gave them to her she was so surprised she cried. That
told me I had not been paying enough attention. I do now.

Often we tell ourselves we are doing this for her, or for
the family. The truth is the family want you, not always the
fruit of your efforts. Without you the fruit is meaningless.

So the next time you make excuses for not attending a game
or a function, or not doing something with your significant
other, because you have to work, maybe you should re-think
the situation.

Many an unnecessary divorce has occurred simply because
folks get too much into their careers or the task they are
doing at the moment. Is that you?

My wife and I are about to celebrate our forty seventh
anniversary. As I look back I see lots of times when I was
so hot tempered that a divorce wasn't far off. Then I cooled
down and we talked.

After being with my partner this long I am in a position to
tell you it only gets better with time. I can tell you that
getting over that fight and committing to being there for
the long haul is well worth the paltry price of pride you
think you must pay.

Too often we strike out at those closest to us, because they
are the closest to us. Stop. Why would you not strike out at
a boss, but then come home and take out your anger at your
boss, on your family? You live with your family. The boss
only represents money. You can get another job, but you will
be a very sorry person if you think you can get another
family.

The world is full of folks whose priorities have been warped
by our "money driven" society. Maybe it's nice to have
money. It's nicer being happy, well centered and enjoying
your life. Money, by far, is a long way back on the priority
list, if you are serious about looking for some truthful
answers.

So take time this day, this week, to spend time with your
family, your significant other. Let them know you love them.
Commit to spending more time with them and less with your
computer, or your career, or the task that is taking you
away.

Do this and I promise you will not only find yourself
happier, but likely far more productive at your work. Try
it.

Anatomy And Physiology (A&P)
The Make Up Of Your Body And
How It Functions
PART 8 of 9

It all sounds very difficult, and confusing AND time
consuming! However, once you see how easy it is
to provide your body with these positive factors and
eliminate harmful or negative ones, it's not so
complicated. But up till now you have probably taken
your body for granted. It may be running on "empty".
You moved without any consideration for the
consequences to your joints. You probably didn't
realise that just your (external) home, you body
needs regular maintenance or a breakdown will occur.

Now that you have a greater understanding, you will
find questions to your answers. If you recognize some
possible allergies, find out why you have them and
why the entire world doesn't have them. Yes, many
do, but again, they are not a natural phenomenon.
Find out what is going into your body via foods, drugs,
or environmental "irritants". Ask why your body
puts up a fight (asthma attack or sneezing) when
something gets into your nose or lungs. Your
respiratory system is trying to protect you. Yet for
convenience sake, you take a drug to kill your protective
defence mechanisms. If you find your elbows stiff after
tennis, ask yourself why.

I am really glad we are on an anti-aging crusade but
I think it comes from the wrong sector of society. Rebuild
your own body with common sense and healthy choices.
Ask yourself how you can feed and nurture every cell
of your body's systems. Your entire body needs adequate
and appropriate nutrition, and the elimination of harmful
intruders. (Drugs, allergens, unhealthy environments, etc.)

You are the gatekeeper. RSVP your way back to health.
Read all you can. Study what you really don't understand.
Visualize yourself in full health (no matter what your present
state is.). Then get practical. Follow proper eating habits
and exercise your body. You don't have to run a marathon.
A gentle walk will do and you can increase the pace as you
feel like it. Make the changes you know are necessary. And
please remember you are NOT your spouse, your parent,
or anyone else. You are strictly you. Only you have been
privilege of living in this body for now. It is your responsibility
to nurture it so we can all benefit from your mission
through life.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to

your favorite bookstore. ISBN # 1-4137-4723-X

As you read enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .
----------------

Billy Hendricks was spending more and more time at
Sonora's place these days. The love between them was
obvious.

Kenyata and Mombudo approved of Billy and the
relationship. Had Billy not lived by higher law they would
not have for the differences between he and Sonora were
great. The culture difference, education difference and the
simple lifestyle differences were enough to drive any
relationship apart. Living by higher law, however, crossed
all those boundaries, both ways.

To those who lived by higher law it was life that was
important and as living by higher law was the highest
priority in each of their lives this was the equalizer.

Billy enjoyed being with the family. He liked the
simplicity by which they lived. He had long ago banished the
way of life folks wanted to live in America. Money, bondage
and all the trappings of man was a desire long ago passed by
Billy and living by higher law was his way.

He had been influential in helping many of mankind over
the years since the Henry boys had worked with him so he
could cross over the veil of simplicity. Billy liked doing
that work. It made him feel as if he were really
contributing to the good of mankind.

For Sonora's part, she had, too, long been involved in
aiding mankind whenever she was called. She really enjoyed
that work and it was now a double pleasure because she knew
her folks, now living by higher law, were always safe, plus
often she would be called to where Billy was working. It
almost seemed like a conspiracy, that they were always
called together.

Billy and Sonora had thoroughly enjoyed being with Tom
and Tlang, and Amenti and Reno. The three couples had spent
near a week together down on the Serengeti. They didn't do
much. They just hung out, so to speak, and enjoyed the days,
the environment and each other. Being able to spend time
like that with the one you love was a wonderful thing. Yet
they all helped each other refrain from having lust rule
their lives. They all knew the benefits of restraint and
they practiced that instead of giving in to their desires.

If one asked Sonora how her love life was she would
immediately go myopic. She would get into a trance like
state and begin to recite with a reverie how she loved Billy
so much. Young love did that. It pulls on the heart strings
as if there is never another soul in the world. Indeed those
who suffer this pleasure don't want to hear about reality.
They, by far, prefer to live the dream. Sonora was no
different.

Billy was a little different. His heart would do a flip
every time he thought of Sonora, but he somehow was grounded
a little more. That was in part the Henry family influence.
Sam would always be on him to remain level headed. Billy
did. He liked to compare himself to Tim Henry who was always
calm and sure footed. Young Tom Henry had allowed himself
the freedom of drifting off but as more days passed with
Tlang the closer he was getting to having his feet on the
ground.

So Billy and Sonora were in love and while, officially,
Billy said his home was in Pinehill, he was really spending
more of his time in Africa with Sonora.

Lately they had not been called out on projects that
took much time. It seemed to Billy as if someone was taking
the trouble to call the pair of them out on the small jobs.
Billy didn't like that too much. He was always one to dig
into the hardest part of the job and get it accomplished. It
wasn't that he had to prove anything. It was because he
liked doing that. Often people were in severe danger and
Billy was right in there with them.

It was through the confidence he inspired in others that
he was able to be as successful as he was. Billy never lost
a soul once he took charge. Even in the worst of
circumstances.

Sonora would often tell him not to be so daring, but
Billy just laughed it off. "I'm a hands on kind of guy,
honey. These people don't need help from a distance. Most of
them want to see you there right in the mess and confusion
with them, and then we walk out together. That's especially
true if people are in trouble in groups. Panic sets in and
they end up killing themselves. I don't know how many times
I have had to handle panic first, then work on getting folks
out."

Billy's first experience was during that explosion that
took our nearly all of Main Street back in Pinehill. He had
gone down into the basement of a burning building and found
about a dozen people there cowering in fear. Billy knew the
floor was burning above them and would soon collapse. The
people in the basement were crying, hollering, and a couple
of them began to panic. Billy, then a teen, had to take
charge. In one case he had to get quite firm. Finally, when
he had control of the people he had them follow him up a
staircase he had created that led right outside. The moment
his charges were out of danger, the floor collapsed.

Since that day Billy has placed himself in many similar
situations and had always come away successful.

Sonora, too, was no slouch when it came to rescuing
those in need. She could be pretty aggressive when she had
to be. More than once she walked into heavy danger, having
to hold back the forces of nature while she escorted folks
to safety. So the real truth was that in that aspect of
their work these two were a pretty evenly matched pair.

"I love you Billy Hendricks." Sonora was leaning her
head on his shoulder. The pair of them had just finished
supper and were sitting on the hill overlooking the plains,
as the sun was setting. This was a pretty romantic setting
for two young folks in love.

HA! HA! HA!

When Stalin completed 25 years of his rule over Russia, he
wanted a special postage stamp issued, with his picture on
it.

He so instructed the Postmaster General, stressing that it
should be of international quality.

The stamps were duly released. Of the stamp, he began
hearingcomplaints that the stamp was not sticking properly,
and become furious.

He called the chief of the Secret Service and ordered him to
investigate the matter.

The chief checked the matter out at several post offices,
and then reported on the problem to Stalin.

He said: "Sir, the stamp is really of international quality.
The problem is, our citizens are spitting on the wrong
side!"
