What is a "black act"?

Is the blood of insects red like ours?

--------------
ANSWERS TO YESTERDAY'S TRIVIA - - - -
--------------

How long has "blackmail" been around?

Probably ever since humans starting walking the earth. The
word, however, goes back to the 1500s when freebooting
Scottish chiefs would demand tribute from travelers on the
Scottish border in exchange for immunity from pillage.

What is a "freebooter"?

A freebooter is a pirate or plunderer.

Tips And Tidbits

Is it time for your business to consider Apple Macintosh?

"While Apple Computer has been working hard to gain a
competitive edge, Microsoft has appeared slow to react. For
instance, both Windows XP and the first version of Mac OS X
were released in 2001. Since then, Apple has released four
major updates to Mac OS X with each providing a variety of
new features. During the same time, Microsoft has only
released two 'Service Packs' to Windows XP which were
primarily bug fixes and mostly devoid of new features. The
next true enhancement to Microsoft Windows (Windows Vista)
isn't scheduled for release until the end of this year and
will likely require many current Windows users to upgrade
their PC hardware to run the new OS," Justin Powell writes
for GetTheNetResults.com.

"Apple has also recently shifted its Macintosh platform to
utilize Intel chips and a similar hardware specification to
that found in Windows-based PCs," Powell writes. "This
brings with it two main benefits to Apple and it's
customers: performance parity with Windows-based PCs and a
new level of compatibility with the Windows operating
system. So is it time for your business to consider using
Apple Macintosh computers?"

In his rather comprehensive article, Powell covers his list
of Macintosh Myths (many of which are still in use by the
"IT Guy" today):

• Macs are not compatible with Windows
• Macs cannot run Windows
• Macs cannot run Windows applications
• Macs cannot read Windows files
• Macs cannot read Windows discs
• Macs cannot network with Windows PCs
• Macs are not as powerful as Windows PCs
• Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows are exactly the same
• Macs cost more

Powell also covers security when he writes, "I'll be
succinct: There are no viruses or related security threats
affecting Mac OS X. There are not trojan horses or spyware
applications on Mac OS X, either. Compare that to 100s of
thousands of viruses and related security threats that
affect Microsoft Windows. There may be a day when Mac OS X
has a virus, but on that day the Mac will still have a
minute fraction of those that affect Windows. If your firm
has spent any time patching Windows, lost any data due to a
security issue, or spent money on anti-virus software, then
you may want to consider a Macintosh. In addition, Mac OS X
has built-in security features that arguably make the
overall platform safer than Windows. For instance, if you
start to download something from the Internet that contains
an application, Mac OS X will notify you and ask if you want
to continue. This feature is designed to prevent spyware and
other security threats from being downloaded to your system
without your knowledge. And whenever you install a program,
you must enter your user ID and password - another barrier
to illegitimate software getting loaded secretly."

Cancer… You Can Beat it or It Can Beat You
PART 1 of 3

The choice is yours.

I know of many people who have conquered cancer. In most
instances, the survival rate for cancer is very positive.
Our research has gone far into discovering that the
environment plays an enormous part in both developing it and
preventing it.

You still should seek medical intervention with your doctor.
You should still go through all the conventional testing and
treatments. You need to recognise and acknowledge the
different warning signals that are causing you problems
through the symptoms.

If you sit back and do nothing, chances are the tumor will
enlarge and cause even more problems.

However if you decide to take control: i.e. visit the doctor
or the clinic and have some tests when the problem is small,
chances are excellent that you can reverse the results.

BUT your part now becomes the LEADING role.

You can do two things immediately without any medical
intervention (doctor or clinic input).

1. You can examine and adjust your "physical" food intake
and
2. You can examine your mental attitude: your "mental"
food intake'.

THE NET'S BEST KEPT SECRET

<><><><>

THE SAGA OF PINEHILL
by Ken Darby

--------------------------------------
Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began
and David Wylie, age 20, were selected by a
stranger in town to take a dangerous trip,
together. The idea was that each was to take
only the clothes on their back and go
anywhere in the world where the stranger
took them. They were to be left there to find
their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they
were. If they arrived back home, there
would be a million dollars waiting in each
of their bank accounts

The story deals with their adventures along
and leads to the only way they could survive.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places.

The Saga Of Pinehill, The Adventure
is now in bookstores. A controversial and powerful story.
It will change your life. Go to
http://www.the-pebble.com OR order yours from
your favorite bookstore. ISBN # 1-4137-4723-X

The elders returned to their places. They had many talks
with their wives over what had just happened to them. They
began to spread the word.

The next night three elders came to visit. Much the same
things happened.

"I do not understand. Some men make guns. Some make cars
and trucks and they use these to kill people and move about.
You do not do either, yet you go when and where you please.
You make things out of the air and then they disappear
again. What is this?"

The elders had come to speak with Billy. He was now
recognized as the new authority in the village.

"Man thinks that to own things is to make him rich.
Here, if you have enough cattle you think you are rich. In
the United States people think that if they have much money
they are rich. None take the time to consider ownership is
not of God. Ownership is of man. If you would live the life
your God or your Maker wants for you then you will change
ownership to stewardship. You will not want to own anything.
You will look after the things you have been given to look
after, while not owning them. That is stewardship and is one
of the first steps to living the life your Maker wants for
you. So long as you live in the material world, so long will
you be kept away from living as your Maker has directed."

"But we know not these things. How is it Miss Sonora
learn, and Mrs. Kenyata and Hemno and Mombudo?"

"They did not participate in the race to be rich as
others in your village. They stayed away, on this side
of the village, and spent their time learning about love,
kindness and the things of their Maker. When Sonora was
ready Mr. Sam and his family were around and they helped
Sonora see the way. She made the choice and from that day
she has helped this village in ways you do not know. You,
too, can find this way when you get away from wanting to be
rich with cattle."

The elders held their heads low. It was clear they did
not want to change their ways.

"You make this sound hard. We must change what we do,
but we have done that for long time. Our fathers taught us
as their fathers taught them."

"Yes. Yet you asked me the question did you not? You
asked how we do these things. I have no cattle, yet I have
more than you." With a sweep of his arm Billy manifested a
vision of a hundred cattle on the hillside below them.
Sweeping his arm again he created the vision of two large
trucks sitting nearby. He then stood and en-robed himself
with long flowing robes and had a crown upon his head.

"You think I feel better now that I have all this I must
look after. All this is a bondage unto me and I have neither
need or want for these things." He waved his arm and the
visions vanished. "I have what I need or want when I need or
want it. The beverage you drink I have manifested from the
ethers. It is a good healthy drink that heals as you drink
it. When you leave here this day you will be healthier men
than when you arrived. I have not need for the things of
this world. I need only my Maker and my Maker sees that I
have all I need. The same is true for every man who seeks
the way."

"But you force this upon us?"

"On the contrary. You think I sit in judgment where I do
not. It is not my business what you do. It is only my
business what I do. If you choose to live as you are you may
do so with my blessings. I will not interfere. It is not our
business to impose our way of life on others. If you wish to
live as we live then you are welcome and we will help you
learn the way. If you do not come to us to ask, then we will
do nothing that will make you. This all came about because i
asked if we could teach your children. That is the decision
the village must make. If we work with the children then
they will one day live as we live. That means they will not
want your herds, or to be rich. Those are the things you
must think on. Do you want your children to have the
privilege of living as we do?"

"You do not know what you ask."

"Of course I know what I ask. It is your choice. It is
wise to have these councils for you must be aware of all the
things that can happen if we begin to work with the
children. You may also understand that not all the children
will want to work with us. We will only be with the ones who
want. That will be influenced by their parents. It is for
all these reasons that we ask. We could have done this
arbitrarily but that is a dishonest way. To be open and
willing to overcome all concerns, that is the way. So I
asked you and we will meet tomorrow, with the whole village
to talk on these things."

"You do right. We not think you sit in judgment. We like
the way you speak. We talk tomorrow."

With that the elders rose and left to go to their homes.
They, too, talked with their wives for a long time.

The next morning the entire village was buzzing. All the
villagers were talking of the meeting to be held at noon.
Some were afraid, others inquisitive and some were bold. Yet
when banded together as a village they all felt somewhat
safe. It was the mothers who were doing the thinking. The
men would make the decisions but only as their wives told
them.

Finally noon arrived. Billy, Sonora, Hemno, Kenyata and
Mombudo all began to make their way to the lodge hut. It was
large enough to accommodate the entire village. There was no
one left in the village as they arrived. They were the last.

WHY DO WE SAY IT?

Indian Giver: Why is a person who gives someone a gift and
then expects to receive something in return called an
"Indian giver"?

At one time Indians were not well thought of and their
customs were not well understood. The Indian who expected
the white man to follow Indian custom and make a return gift
was considered to be more interested in gain than in being
generous.

HA! HA! HA!

A guy entered a contest and ended up winning a few acres of
swampland in the Mississippi flood plain. He'd never won
anything before - he couldn't believe it!

So he entered another contest and won a $250,000 house! Two
big prizes in a row - incredible! Naturally, he built the
house on his new land.

Then he bought a lottery ticket, and he won a ton of money!
He was astounded by his run of luck, and decided to quit
while he was ahead. He retired from his job and moved into
his new house.

And one night, as he sat on his new porch watching the rain
and listening to the thunder, it all started to sink in.
