Unto All An Iced Tea!
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had
some items in front of him. When the class began,
wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty
mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.
He then asked the students if the jar was full. They
agreed that it was.
So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and
poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The
pebbles rolled into the open areas between golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured
it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students
responded with a unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two jars of Lipton Ice Tea
from under the table and poured the entire contents into
the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the
sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I
want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things--your family, your
children, your health, your friends, your favorite passions--
things that if everything else was lost and only they
remained, your life would still be full.
"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your
job, your house, your car.
The sand is everything else--the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued,
"there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The
same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy
on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things
that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that
are critical to your happiness. Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner
out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time
to clean the house, and fix the disposal.
"Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really
matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired
what the Ice Tea represented.
The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes
to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for an Iced Tea and relaxation."

What If...Reflecting On Chemicals Going Into Your Body
PART 4 of 5
So my question to you is this. Did you do any of your own
research before you filled your drug prescription? Did you seek
out any different techniques that would teach how you can avoid
having all these chemicals residing in your body? Were you
offered any other resources?
What if...you learned how to clean your sinuses instead of
clogging of drying them up? (Learn what nasal sprays and
decongestants do. Is that what you really want?) What if...you
learned how to deal with your high blood pressure "naturally"?
"Normal" blood pressure readings are a real challenge now to
achieve. The "normal values" vary depending on who you work
with. What if...you knew that "sugar reduced" or "fat reduced"
or "caffeine free" could well mean a host of added chemicals to
the product? Would you make different choices? (Artificial
sweeteners are just that: artificial.)
One thing you can do right now is to learn and recognize that
chemicals come in many different forms and different disguises.
Your body has its own set, and anything you want to add must be
in "sync" with its needs. Chemicals can easily enter your body
via the mouth, nose, ears, skin, and eyes, even your hair shaft.
But they are still entering your body, hopefully with your full
knowledge, understanding, and consent.
The next time you aren't feeling well or have some sort of
"upset" or negative health feeling or symptoms, I suggest you
stop and spend some concerted effort on research. Try to
determine what changed just before you experienced that unwanted
feeling. I suggest you discuss your drugs with your pharmacist
and (or) your doctor. To get an interesting and different
perspective, consult a certified naturopath or chiropractor.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

The day was now beginning to turn dark and
night was upon them. They all got up and started
their walk back to the hut, ostensibly to put the kids
to bed before the adults went to the evening fire,
which, by the sounds of it had already begun.
On the way, they were met by friends, Susan,
Sam and Alewka.
"Boy! It sure didn't take you folks long to
get here." said David "Welcome. It's good to see
you again."
"When we received Mae's invitation we all
thought that was a good idea, and Susan here is so
anxious to get back to China she could hardly wait
for us to get ready." smirked Sam, always the
tease.
"Oh Sam Henry, you're a beast" and Susan
slapped him on the shoulder.
They all continued to walk to the Dave and
Pam's hut. When they arrived Pam went in and put
the kids to bed. They were good sleepers, and had
done this many times. They knew that if they awoke
and needed Mom or Dad, they could come to the
fire. They had not done that yet. In this village
all were so safe the kids felt a great deal of
confidence and resourcefulness.
With the kids in bed the adults stayed around
a little until the kids settled for sure, then
they proceeded to the fire.
"Oh! Mom and Dad! Mrs. Miles!" Eloise jumped
up off her chair and came running. She gave them
all a big hug. "It's so nice to see you. How are
you? How are the boys?"
"All is well Tinkerbell."
"How are you Mrs. Miles? I hear all sorts of
stories about you from Mae. She says you two are
having a wonderful time in China."
"Eloise I'm fine and enjoying that trip
immensely. It's nice to get home, but we are both
enjoying the trip. I'll tell you what, though, we
sure enjoy being here for the evening fire. Do you
know folks do this nearly all over the world? We
have spent many a night by fires in China. Even in
the marketplaces they bring out these kerosene
lamps, or oil lamps, to light their tables and
everyone has a great time." answered Sue.
"I'm glad, and I'm glad you came to visit us
tonight."
Mazunta, too, came over to welcome the guests,
as did many of the villagers. Sam and Alewka Henry
were special guests to this village. The villagers
always like having them around. Sue Miles, too,
was made welcome.
They all took their places at the fire and the
evening continued, well into the early morning
hours. The camaraderie was wonderful, bonding.
Mae and Susan were anxious. They wanted to get
back to see Shing Li and Psong. It had been only a
day, but they were still anxious. Mae had
suggested they spend one more week with the two
women and then begin to move on. The women could
call them anytime they needed, but growth had to
come from inside themselves. Susan agreed.
The fire shut down late, because of the
guests. The musicians became really enthusiastic
and the villagers danced until late. Sam and
Alewka danced as well, much to the villagers
delight. They were joined by Eloise and Mazunta.
All in all a great time was had by all and
none wanted the evening to end. But end it did.
Sam and Alewka decided to stay in the guest
hut, so they could see little AliAnn in the
morning. It had been a month since they had seen
their granddaughter.
Susan went to Mae's hut with her for sleep.
She slept the sleep of angels.
The morning dawned long before the dancers and
fire goers saw daylight. Most of the village
children were up long before their parents.
Finally Mae and Susan rose, stretched and
poked their noses out the door.
"Well, good morning! We were just about to
come looking for you two just to see if you were
still alive. I guess you had a good sleep" said
David, laughing.
"Smarty pants! Just because I slept in
shouldn't get your goat. I deserve a good sleep in
once in a while. Where are the kids?" asked Mae.
"Off playing, as usual. I suspect you'll find
them on the beach playing that never ending game
of ball they play. They were up before we were and
we haven't seen them today. They'll be back soon.
They get hungry.
Mae and Susan told David they would be back
for lunch, and then walked over to the Henry's
hut. Sam and Alewka were not there. They arose and
went over to Maz and Missy's right away. That is
where the women found them, playing with their
granddaughter.
