IT’S YOUR CHOICE!

Do you really realize just how much choice you have in your
life? Every moment you are choosing. The trick is to make
those choices conscious, to be aware that you are actually
making a choice at each moment.
I was talking to one of my book editors the other day and he
asked me why I wrote that you choose your perceptions in life.
He wanted to know how I thought that was true. Well, more
accurately, he did not want to believe it was true and was
hoping to convince me otherwise!!
It takes maturity to take responsibility for your choices in
life—all of them. It’s much easier to find someone to blame
for what you do, what you think and how you feel. It’s
quicker, too.
The dictionary says that perception is ‘physical sensation
interpreted in the light of experience’. Wow! Your past
experience actually plays a part in how you see your world.
What a surprise! So, anything you hear, see, taste, touch or
smell can trigger a past memory or a past response. Whether
or not you allow it, though, is your choice. You can change
the way you see life at any minute.
You do choose what you pay attention to at every moment. Do
not let your pre-programming from past experiences determine
how you see your life now. That’s where the real choice in
life is!
Have you ever been in a new relationship that has great
potential for becoming a significant relationship? As you get
to know one another more deeply and the ‘first date’,
‘honeymoon’ phase dissipates, it sometimes happens that that
special person seems to react to some small thing in a way
that completely surprises you. For example, he or she might
display signs of jealousy when you have done nothing to
warrant it. There is an example of a ‘physical sensation
interpreted in the light of experience’. Your new partner may
very well be reacting to a way you looked at someone or moved
your body that they knew to mean flirting in their past
relationship. Now, they want to interpret it in the same way
in your new relationship. No! That’s not fair!
We need to approach each new relationship with an open mind
and a willingness to see and learn about this new partner,
boss, co-worker or friend with new eyes. Sure, you have
learned valuable lessons in the past that will help you make
good decisions, however, it is unfair to generalize the
behaviors of one person when meeting someone new.
Sometimes a person in your life makes some changes for the
positive. She is working hard to be different, to respond
differently, to improve an area of her life. Open yourself
to the possibility of seeing her differently. Give her the
space to change. Notice the changes. Both of you will
benefit.
Everything has the meaning that you give it. A driver cuts in
front of you on the freeway. One day, you can be angry and
curse the driver for being such a complete idiot. Another
day, you can simply say, ‘Oh, maybe, she’s late for a very
important appointment’ and let it go. That’s choosing how you
see things, your perception. The second approach saves wear
and tear on your energy, your nerves and your sense of
well-being.
One day a colleague at work is quiet, uncommunicative and
sullen. You can decide that that person is childish, angry,
pouting or difficult. You may then ignore him or treat him
coldly. Or, you might decide that something very difficult
has happened to them and ask if you can help in some way. You
may simply be compassionate towards them and give them the
space and peace to recover. It’s a choice.
Life goes along much better when you take responsibility for
your choices. You will not be looking for someone to blame
for your mood, your responses or your actions. You choose the
meaning things have and, in that light, you choose your
responses. You are powerful. Every moment of every day you
are deciding how to view your world. Exercise your power to
choose. See things positively. It’s your choice.

Did you Lose Your Download?
It happens to everyone - especially when you're new to
the downloading process. To find your download, Use the
Find Files feature built into your computer.
Click the Start button. Go to find, Point to it with your
mouse cursor and click "Find Files or Folders.
Once the "Find" dialog box is open, type "start" into
the "Named" field. Look in Drive (C:). click Find Now. And
watch it show you a bunch of stuff from your hard drive.
Apply this technique anytime you can't find. You can
type an asterisk followed by a dot and three letters making up a
file extension. Like, *.exe would find all the files
that are executable, *.gif would find all the graphics
files in GIF format, *.jpg would find all your photos you've
been taking with that new digital camera.
Now you know what to do. Never lose a download again.

Rebound
Recognizing That Too Much Of A Good
Thing Might Not Continue To Be Good.

Now we come to the nasal congestants. Many people
use headache medication and need to understand this
rebound process. Many, many more don't know that
something as seemingly innocent as a nasal decongestant
could be causing exactly the same response:
"rebound".. Why would you use a decongestant in the
first place? What is congestion? Something enters your
head through your nose (or your mouth) and your body
recognizes it as an unwanted visitor. This could be dust or
unpleasant smells, or allergens. Your body reacts by
increasing the fluids to that part of the body in an attempt
to wash away the toxins. This additional fluid causes you
to feel "congested". You feel stuffy and your eyes might
be watering. Your nose might be running. It's an
unsightly and unbearable situation. (Congestion is the
swelling and congestion of the nasal mucosa: the soft,
moist lining of the nasal passages.) And you can't stand
the discomfort. You need help. You speak with your doctor
and they prescribe a "decongestant"("De" meaning "away
from")..FOR A FEW DAYS.
Decongestants are used to treat nasal congestion and
other symptoms associated with colds and allergies. The
commonly used forms are liquid and tablet. Nose sprays
or drops may be used for acute situations but FOR NO
MORE THAN TWO TO THREE DAYS IN A
ROW OR AS PRESCRIBED BY A PHYSICIAN. They work
by narrowing blood vessels, leading to the clearing of
nasal congestion. Decongestants are available both
over-the-counter and by prescription. Now you have help
and can reach for the spray, liquid, or tablet. The blood
vessels that have been dilated to bring the increased fluid
supply now are chemically told to reduce this process and
your nose stops running and the eyes feel better. A few
days later you are fine again. But
unfortunately you continue to be exposed to that same irritant.
And you continue to use the same products that worked so well.
Over-the-counter nasal sprays, if used for a prolonged period of
time, can CAUSE "rebound rhinitis" or nasal congestion symptoms.
Decongestants can cause nervousness, sleeplessness, or elevated
blood pressure. So all the effort you put into getting rid of
the symptoms are now working against you. You need to discuss
this with your pharmacist or doctor. It's really useless and
counter-productive to buy more medication that isn't working for
you any longer, but in fact it is now working against you. Why
would you do that? Because you didn't know!
But you do know now. And now you should be paying attention to
ALL labels. They are put on products with very important reasons
and most of it for your protection. Rebound is an action of
certain drugs that works against your specific needs. It doesn't
mean it's a bad drug. It means you need to know for how and for
what reason you are taking it. Your original reason for taking
it was good. Your continuing reason was not in your best
interest.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

They walked along for a while and Mae could
tell the monk was deep in thought. "No, we are not
from a monastery you would know. We come from
America. We have both been blessed to learn higher
law. We were at a wedding in South America which
was attended by Jesus, Buddha and Mohammed. They
removed from us all impediment to living by higher
law. We learned fast, and today our mission is to
help mankind in any way we can. It is our blessing
and we are most grateful."
The monk looked at Mae in disbelief. Mae had
not said anything but had projected thoughts that
answered the questions he had been thinking about.
He was now angry with Mae.
"You have not seen Buddha. He is dead. No one
has seen Buddha. You lie."
The monk was vehement in his reaction. He had
been taught that Buddha was dead and that no one
has seen him since. Further, none of the worlds
great leaders can come back to life. That is why
we worship our ancestors. They are and have been
special. They have gone to the afterlife and we
shall not see them until we, too, go there.
The monk was upset because the core of his
belief system was being challenged, right here,
right now, within minutes of meeting these two
women on the trail. What should he do? Leave? Or
stay and argue the truth?
"Stay" said Mae.
"You read my mind? You give me answers to what
I was thinking and I did not even speak them to
you."
"You need not speak to communicate. I saw you
were thinking deep and hard. You are wondering if
you will be disloyal to your teaching if you learn
anything from us. You are not sure, for you are
laboring under the belief that what you learned at
your monastery for all these years is the only
thing that is right. It is difficult for you to
believe there is anything more."
"You even know these thoughts?" said the monk.
"Yes. Living by higher law permits us to know
these things. Fear not for we, too, live by the
great law. We will do you no harm unless you wish
harm upon us" answered Mae.
He slumped. His thinking was being challenged
by someone who could read his thoughts. Now
nothing was private. Maybe he should get out of
here. But something is unique and strange about
these women. They project love unto me that shows
me they are peaceful, caring and of considerable
depth. They are not phony, neither controlling.
Maybe I should stick around to see what happens
were the thoughts going through his mind.
"I am not challenging you. I merely say you
have graduated from your school into another. I
asked you back, that you might see that. Your
religion is like all religions in the world. You
teach about your proposed leader but you do not do
what he told you to do. You only go part way. Then
you profess to be the authorities and lead the
people the way you want, thereby controlling them.
Control is not the answer except for worldly
people wanting worldly things. It is known as
greed, and is not of your leader. Buddha himself
has so said. He is very disappointed with what
your religious leaders are doing. You now must
make a choice. Either follow your religious
leaders or, do what Buddha has told you" said Mae.
The monk once more reacted with anger. His
very self was being challenged, and by a
foreigner, untrained in his ways. This was not
right. He must leave. It was all he could do to
keep himself from speaking out in anger. He was
taught self control, but this was too much.
"Wong, this is not too much. Your anger comes
from deep within where you know what I say is
correct. Otherwise you would not be angry. It has
challenged the core of your belief system, or so
you think. Yet, if you look closely, it is no
challenge except to the worldly part of you. When
you are wholly committed to your Maker there is
not challenge, for none can offer it. There is
only challenge when you think you are doing right
but are not unconditionally sure. When you have
arrived at your Makers house, inside you, there is
and can be no more challenge."
"You even know my name? How is it that you,
without training can know so much? How is it that
you can come to this land and speak as you do,
when I have spent years learning what I know. My
Master will show you otherwise."
"I would prefer that Buddha show me otherwise.
I know, of course, that he will not" Mae was
holding her own, and speaking calmly.
Suddenly there was another person with them.
