It seems the "big boys" are changing their email
marketing tactics. Rather than simply hit the mass
market with email they are paying attention to the
responses they are receiving and beginning to
interject psychological profiling. They already do
that with offline ads, and that is the reason car
manufacturers have so many different models.
Cigarette companies are the same with many
different products, each advertised in a way to
grab one psychological segment of society.
In another story it appears as if the professionals
are much confused by search engine marketing.
They are finding the matter too difficult to produce
predictable results. They are not getting their bang
for the buck.
As always the internet is in a constant state of flux,
with changes going on all the time. That's a good
thing, because what will happen is sooner or later
there will emerge predictable patterns we can all
count on. It happens. Not many of us are ready to
live completely in a world of change. That takes
time for us to make the adjustment, and the older
we are the longer it takes. That is why this new
Millenial Generation will have such an enormous
impact.
On another note, yet still dealing with the Millenial
Generation, I have two grandsons who are developing
a game they want to market on the net. I have no idea
whether it will go anywhere, but I an enthralled with
the notion that two twelve year olds are even
thinking this way. Wow!

Aneurysms
A Leak In Your Circulatory System

We also need to pick a starting point for our "journey", as all
body systems are continuous. Let's decide to start in the heart.
What goes through this corridor is blood. You probably already
know your body has arteries that bring blood full of oxygen TO
the body to feed it. It also has veins that bring BACK the waste
products and nutrient-depleted blood from the cells back to the
heart and lungs. These waste products will be dumped into the
filtering systems of the kidneys, liver, spleen, etc.
The blood is pushed through this container or corridor by the
heart muscles to the lungs, where it picks up oxygen and then
gets pumped back through the heart chambers or rooms to the
many, many places in the body. All the heart really does, is act
like a giant pump: about the size of a normal fist. As it gets
pumped along, the blood is propelled or moved along by gates or
valves that don't allow it to flow back. It must forward to its
destination.
Normal blood pressure or the pressure in this corridor will move
the blood evenly and without any unforeseen blockages. But
sometimes things happen to change that. And in an aneurysm, the
change can be a weakening or a "hole in" the wall of one area of
the corridor/vessel. And it can be caused by a variety of
things. This is a structural change.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

Wong, with those three little words felt as if the
weight of the world had been lifted from his body
and his soul. It was as if the gross matter that
was his body was now lighter, easier to carry
around. He was being bathed in new knowledge and
new love. He was accepted by his Maker, within.
They were one.
Here he was on a lonely little road in the
middle of South China and he found peace. He had
the privilege of a visit from his most revered
Buddha and he had learned the way. All the way
through his training he had thought he was on the
way, but at no time had he felt the peace he had
now. He had known what peace is brought on by
being calm, in meditation. He had known the peace
that comes with removing any desire for worldly
goods. He had known the peace that comes from
going inside to eliminate the influences of the
outside world. But none compares to the peace he
felt within himself at this moment. It was rock
solid. It felt permanent. It felt immovable. Not
before had he experienced this. He "KNEW" this was
the way.
"Welcome, brother." Mae walked up to him and
hugged him. Wong was about to move away from this
kind of familiarity. Then Susan came to him and
hugged him. "Welcome, brother."
These were not hugs of mortal women, carnal
women, women seeking attention. These were the
hugs and blessings much more than those he could
remember from his Mother when he was young. He
knew he was accepted.
"I am a new man. I have changed in this time
on this hill. I am more learned than when I left
the monastery. I now see their agenda. I know the
way. I have been blessed."
The three of them stayed there on the road
talking for what seemed like only minutes, but was
hours. The long string of dust the ladies had seen
on the road earlier was now approaching them. They
could see now it was a column of military
vehicles, a convoy. It looked as if it were 100 or
so vehicles long.
The convoy moved inexorably toward them. It
was not moving fast but raising extraordinary
amounts of dust. The big wheels of the heavy
trucks picked up the fine dust on the road and
lifted it into the air as in clouds. Only the
first vehicle was free of dust for breathing. All
the rest in the convoy, no matter how far back
from the vehicle in front of them, was immersed in
thick dust.
All had their headlights on, but in the dust
they were useless. The convoy was relying on radio
communication. If the lead vehicle stopped it was
for sure the next would run into it, and the next
and next. How the drivers in the following
vehicles could see to drive was a mystery. And now
they were climbing this mountain road. It seemed a
condition just asking for an accident to happen.
Only the lead truck saw Mae, Susan and Wong.
They did not stop.
The convoy rolled by truck by truck for over
an hour. The dust hung in the air. It was thick
and still. Looking down the road from where the
convoy had come the dust was still hanging in the
air.
All in all it was quite a sight. But my, it
was dirty. Mae created a "clean" zone around the
three of them. It contained pure air and was
untouched by the dust.
Many of the vehicles came too close to them
and they decided to move down the slope away from
the road. It did not do much to remove them from
the dust but it did feel safer.
One truck was trailing a small trailer
carrying some kind of equipment. The driver was
too close to the side of the road and, as he
passed the boulders the three were sitting on the
trailer wheel caught one of them.
Nothing sever happened, but the three could
hear radio communication going on warning
following drivers to stay right, a little.
Susan was observing the noise the vehicles
made. It was a strange thing. Amidst the dust they
heard a vehicle come by, then a quieting, not
silent but quieter. Then it would begin to get
noisy again as another vehicle approached. As that
one passed it again became slightly quieter, then
another.
By the time the column was half way past the
three there was a steady rhythm in the drone of
engine and machine. All the vehicles had found the
right gear and they simply kept up the steady,
never ending pace.
Having one of these convoys pass is really
quite a sight, for anyone. Mae and Susan had never
seen anything like it before.
Then it was over. The last vehicle had passed
and the noise was a slowly diminishing sound in
the distance. Only the dust remained in this
windless, motionless day.

TODAY'S REPORT:
Well, thanks to technology, you guys hardly noticed that
I had to go out of town yesterday. My wife and I drove to
a place called Wainwright Alberta, pop. 7500, about
150 miles from where we live. There we stayed Wednesday
night and I am back home now, just in time to get thePEBBLE
mailed out. We brought back with us a favorite aunt, so
she could stay with us for a while. She recently lost her
husband and is finding life a little lonesome.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Just as she was celebrating her 80th birthday, our friend
received a jury-duty notice. She called to remind the people
at the clerk's office that she was exempt because of her age.
"You need to come in and fill out the exemption forms," they
said.
"I've already done that," she replied. "I did it last year."
"You have to do it every year," she was told.
"Why?" came the response. "Do you think I'm going to get
any younger??"
