Follow Your Dreams!

There was once a young man who, in his youth, professed
his desire become a great writer.
When asked to define "great" he said, "I want to write stuff
that the whole world will read, stuff that people will react to
on a truly emotional level, stuff that will make them scream,
cry, howl in pain and anger!"
He now works for Microsoft, writing error messages.
Well, I guess he isn't doing quite what he and the rest of
us thought. But he is doing what he wanted. Wow! Microsoft is
the butt of many a joke.
Still, the joke does point out something. It says that if you
keep true to your dream you will achieve. In the joke above we
see a young man who wanted to be a writer. Undoubtedly he
never had this vision in mind, but he is writing, where there is
a need he never saw as a youth.
Often that happens to all of us. We dream of having
something, being a special person, doing something. Also,
some are fortunate to have that motivation from youth, without
having to make a choice or manufacture it. And, like the joke
above we end up doing something that appears to be far from
what our dream was, only to find, in time, we were doing exactly
as we should have been doing.
The story, movie, Mr. Holland's Opus comes to mind when
I think of this condition. Here we have a teacher that dreamt of
writing a magnificent musical work. While doing so he had an
incredible and wonderful affect on his students. In the end he
ended up being let go from his job because the school systems
budget could no longer support his music class. He felt as if
his life was a shambles. He felt as if he had not accomplished
a thing.
Then one night he was asked out to the school for a
farewell party, only to find his students, past and present, all
got together to produce his "Opus". It was wonderful and he
then and only then realized the profound effect he had on
so many people.
You see, sometimes we are blind to the good we do.
Sometimes in chasing our dream we spread much good
around that seems nothing to us, yet when added up over
a lifetime is magnificent.
I often see people in the midst of turmoil and struggle,
thinking they are doing nothing near what they really wanted,
yet are spreading much good around wherever they go. Too
often I see handicapped people spreading cheer amongst
the healthy.
Life is good. Many of us must realize that. And many
of us must learn to be happy right where we are. Learn to
go inside and determine your own value. You might be
doing a great deal of good without even thinking about it.
In fact, maybe you have already learned to - - - -

COLOR SCHEME
To access that, right-click an empty area of the
Desktop and click Properties. On the Display window,
select the Appearance tab. The three selections are
under "Color scheme."
If you want a better selection, click "Windows and
buttons." Select "Windows Classic style." Now you'll f
ind tons of colors under "Color scheme." Click
Advanced and select the elements under Item.
Windows 98 is more direct. Follow the same trail to
get into the Display window. Select the Appearance
tab. Colors are under Scheme; the various elements
are under Item.

Aneurysms
A Leak In Your Circulatory System

What ACTUALLY HAPPENS IN AN ANEURYSM:
(AN'u-rizm) Somewhere, somehow a bulge-like defect
happens. It can look much like an over-inflated inner tube.
And they are dangerous because they may burst or they
can leak slowly. Mosby's describes an aneurysm
"as a localized dilation of the wall of a blood vessel, often
caused by atherosclerosis and hypertension. Not as frequently,
it can be a congenital (present before birth) weakness of or in
the vessel wall. It can also be caused by infection or by
trauma. In older people it is common in peripheral vessels of
limbs, usually in the legs. These may rupture and cause
hemorrhage or a thrombus (clot). It is a sac-like bulge on one
side of an artery usually arising at an arterial branching." In
other words, the garden hose has a weakness and may spring a
leak! Rarely will it have a weakness in all of it, but it could
have several weak spots. But as with your garden hose, one
"break" in the system can cause a lot of grief. This can happen
in the brain, the heart, and in your extremities. But the
significance of the location is the amount of damage it can do.
Some parts of the body are far more vital to its survival and
health than others.

Eloise Henry, age 18 when the story began, and
David Wylie, age 20, were selected, by a
stranger in town, to take a dangerous trip, together.
The idea was that each was to take only the clothes
on their back, and go anywhere in the world where
the stranger took them. They were to be left there
to find their own way home. They had no money,
no identification, and no idea where they were.
Upon their safe return there was a million dollars
waiting in their bank account for them. If one did not
make it that money would go to the survivor. If neither
made it the money would go to their families.
The story deals with their adventures along the way
and leads into the only way they could survive. That was
for Eloise to learn higher law and commit her life to
that end. Along the way she learns how to perform
many a miracle.
The story leads to many friends, many adventures
and many places. As you read on, enjoy. It continues . . . . . . .

Mae, Susan and Wong climbed back up onto the
road.
"We are walking through China, wanting to walk
up to Tibet and then south to India. We think it
will take three or four years. We have no schedule
and are not bound by reaching our destination by
any given date. That means we will be wandering in
a mainly northerly direction. You are free to join
us Wong, if you would like to" said Susan, who had
been quiet during much of the exchange up to now.
"I would like that."
"Good, then let's go" said Mae. She picked up
her staff and began the descent along the dusty
road the convoy had just come up.
The others walked beside her after having to
run the first few steps just to catch up.
They walked down the road. Mae had a song in
her heart, for no reason she could think of. She
was just happy.
Wong, on the other hand was wondering about
what he was doing. He wondered what he was doing
here with these two foreigners. He wondered what
had happened to him and how, in an instant, he had
changed.
Susan was watching his thoughts and smiled to
herself. How many times had she found her own self
in a similar situation. All those years being a
next door neighbor to the Henrys in Pinehill, she
certainly found herself privy to many things she
was uncertain about. Had it not been for Sam and
Alewka Henry she would have retreated from many of
them. Yet, because she stayed she learned much,
and now look what she was doing.
Mae, on the other hand, had found herself
becoming more assertive than she was in her former
life. During the years she had been married to
Frank Wiley, she had been submissive to his
forceful ways, not allowing herself to get into an
equal position. She knew that would only have led
to arguments and strife. She was happy to allow
Frank to lead. Then when his antics led to their
divorce she found herself in a world where she had
to learn to make decisions on her own. The more
she did then the more she found courage and
confidence within. Then when David, her son,
wanted to move his family down to South America
she really had to dig deep to find the courage to
tag along as he had asked. Again it was one of the
best things she could have done. She was pleased
too, when David committed to higher law. She knew
he would forever be looked after with this new
knowledge. Then, when she had the chance to learn
higher law, because of Jesus gift at the wedding,
she jumped for it. Today she was living true to
her mission in life and it made her so happy she
felt her heart would burst. Here she was in this
beautiful land, with friends, and doing what she
wanted.
The day was moving on. It would soon be time
for supper and to pick a spot to stay for the
night. They came to a clearing on the bottom of
the descent in the road. There they were next to a
river and across the river they could see a
village some two or three kilometers away.
They decided to stay where they were for the
night.
Wong moved around the area and found firewood.
He returned with his arms full. He put the wood
down and began to build the fire. When he was
ready to light it he took some fine tinder out of
a place in his robes and began to work with it.
"Wong" Mae called.
Wong looked up.
"Wong close your eyes. See the fire burning
just as you want it to be. Then see it as being a
fact, as if you had already lit it. Then open
your eyes to see what you have done" were Mae's
instructions.
Wong looked at her for a long while, looking
directly into her eyes. She held his gaze. The
longer he looked into her eyes the more convinced
he became he could do what she told him.
He closed his eyes and saw the fire burning.
He was forced to open his eyes quickly and move
from the fire. It was ablaze just as he had
envisioned.
He also moved back because he was amazed he
had done it. This was new to him. He liked it but
did not quite understand. He looked perplexed.
Susan smiled. "Fear not Wong. This is only the
first of many things you will do. This is the law
and you will be of help to many because of this
law. We will do more things as we move from day to
day. Concentrate now on being grateful for what
you have achieved. Many work for years to do this.
You have picked it up quickly, because of your
training.
Wong was speechless.

Life's Funny Little Realities
Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain
consciousness.

Minnesota Vikings early morning football practice was
delayed on Monday for nearly two hours at the Vikings
practice facility. One of the players, while on his way to the
field happened to look down and notice a suspicious
looking, unknown white powdery substance on the practice
field. Head coach Dennis Green immediately suspended
practice while the Minnesota Bureau of Investigation & FBI
were called in to investigate. After a complete field
analysis, the FBI determined that the white substance,
unknown to the players was the goal line. Practice was
resumed when FBI Special Agents decided that the team
would not be likely to encounter the substance again.
